This spell is evil on Zek, very effective if you can get it to stick.

Magic is the first resist that everyone gears up to high levels so good luck getting any spell that checks against magic resist to work on Zek.

Calm down buddy. This comment was written almost 12 years before your reply. Back then, people didn't 'gear up' so much as just use what they could find.

They sure did. I played on Rallos Zek in pre Lublin-LDoN and my magic resist was the first thing that I leveled up.

taking turns in Kern's at low/mid level (1st floor of tower) this works to pull individuals into ambush. Good for taking turns at pulling.

I have been using this spell since I got it for one purpose and one purpose only. To steal/hold aggro. I'm level 40 and if I want to hold aggro I don't lose it with this spell. For some reason if you step beyond melee range this spell acts as a fear spell would. Just use it for aggro purposes. Level 41 and still on my spell list
Nerfed?

I've been using this spell ever since I made my BST and he got it, it used to be great, but it seems recently to have been nerfed. It certainly isn't working the way it used to, now, mobs are blinded, but they aren't turning to run unless there's a BIG space between you and the mob, I'm guessing about 40 meters or so, well beyond melee range. Anyone else noticing it recently? (June 28, 2003)
Usefull for Grabbing Aggro

This is also a GREAT taunt spell. My pally can cast it once near the end of battle where dual wielding War has been taunting all battle and I will grab the aggro. Beastlords in groups without a taunter can use it to help keep aggro. It does come with the warning that the nastie you are fighting may try and run, so its best used AFTER a snare.

correct. used it yesterday in a group, and it helped me big time to keep / gain aggro. prolly not as good a a heal spell, but still.

but, the mobs never ran. they always stayed put. when cast from from far away though, then they will run around aimlessly. like puppies Smiley: grin

I think this spell is most useful (and FUN) when you're in a duel with someone; flash 'em and change position, getting behind them, then to the right if they have the habit of rotating left to find you, then not changing position at all (and letting them anticipate by turning 180 to see that you're *not* there, etc.. It gets really annoying to your opponent after a while and is worth at least a couple of good belly laughs. MY favorite tactic is flash them and run and hide behind the nearest tree. =)

cast on mob, when it holds back up. They should run away, while they are running cast other spells on them. Probably works best after lvl 9 for a shaman. You have sicken and tainted breath plus a few other damaging spells that can be casted while the mob is running. When it wears off, just recast and do it all over again. C3 is a big help with this tactic. Toadstul lvl 11 Shaman on the Tribunal

Best use is in pvp... shoot this at a melee trying to hit you and take a step back. Granted, may not stick, but if it does give you time to root and back up. Havn't used this in this manner, but have had it used against me =p. If you use this on a mob there is a chance he'll go running. So unless you are fear kiting I'd suggest not using that, especially in a dungeon.
