Soloed today with 47 cleric and warrior merc. Pretty effortless, with the merc temped and no adds I only had to toss a CH about 3 times through the whole fight. Did not resist when I cast Immobilize (he ran after 20% like all other mobs). Ended fight with full mana. Dropped Thick Netted Veil and Flawless Natimbi Pearl.

Most of the animal types around Natimbi are safe for kiting, this guy definitely is not. Summoned me and delivered a pretty epic beatdown. Lesson learned.

I (60 druid) have been duoing with a 60 SK and haven't had any trouble with this mob; however, for being the same con (dk blue to 60 druid) as other things it's much tougher than the other animals. Neither of us has particulary great gear. The SK is always buffed with virtue and my regen and damage shield. I cast magic debuff (Glamour of Tunare) and ensnare; otherwise I just heal the SK. With KEI, mana pres III item and mana regen via mask of the stalker, I end up at about 30% mana. The Fierce turns at 20% health, so that helps. Sometimes it summons, sometimes not. We've killed it 7 times over the weekend (our first time to the zone) and had the ceremonial wrap drop 3 times, the talisman of the spiritseer 2 times, and the iridescent turepta shell drop 2 times. We'll keep going and see if we can get the shell inlaid collar to drop, as it's fetching some decent platinum in the bazaar.

soloed him at turtle pond with a 61 mage and epic pet. pet only had burnout iv with no hp buffs.
had to pretty much just heal pet ,had no time to cast any nukes. hits pretty hard from what i saw. but would be pretty easy if pet had virtue

I saw the Fierce Crag on tracking while playing my 53 druid - had never seen this mob before. Here's the funny part. First thing I did was try to charm him. If that had stuck I could've wiped the zone with this guy. However, my snare and DoTs were sticking. Snare isn't real useful solo vs. a mob that summons. =)

So I logged my main (63 pally) thinking I would get revenge. Nope. FC hit me for max 346. Hit me 41 times w/ at least half for 200+. He did not cast any spells against me but fight only lasted 1:14.

Looking at the log file for my Druid's fight it's pretty much the same story. 15 hits for 3200 dmg total. No spells.

I came back with a lev 70 Necro, but the FC was no longer up. I suppose someone already killed it.

Got aggro from this fella while fear kiting hynid fleshrippers. No, I did not aggro/attack any Tureptas. Been soloing this zone for a good while.
Not sure if this is standard now or some kind of one off thing?

iam 55 ranger with virtue an kei. an got mopped in minates. couldn't root to spell he kept sommaning me from across the feild to him like a transport an was wacking me for 100+. ran 5 time dragged back 5 times. hes dark blue to me. what a joke should be red or at least yellow; if he's 53 iam king.
Damn, What am I doing wrong!

Level 63 Necro, I can't kill this guy. None of my spells stick except Snare, and he kills my pet in record time, he hit me with something that did 1200 HPS damage. This is after the August 15th or so patch (2005).

I can't solo him.

I don't really know what the deal is with that, but he is definitely severely underconned. At level 53 he was white to me-- we had 4 in the group, ranger, pally, monk and enc, all around that level-- and we were taking things out pretty easily. Nevertheless when we got his attention, it was pretty much a record wipeout for us.

Spells were sticking at a rate of 50/50, root worked but not for long. Couldn't get a mez off in time to check to see if it sticks. We're not twinked but we have nice gear though not many AA's yet, but we're not completely useless either. Was hitting us for at least 180-344 a pop, and took us down easy however. My guess is underconned, much?

He aggros easy when you pull nearby crags, so be very careful not to get him angry. Oh, and he summons. I don't know what its like at level 63, but if I meet him again I'm just going to haul *** to the magus.

I'm sure he can go down with someone more uber than us, though.

wizard soloing
# May 30 2005 at 6:26 AM Rating: Default
Was bored lfg at like 5am and decided I'd come here since I'd seen these as green cons running through to KT on my monk. 43 wizard with 3.1k mana unbuffed. Got a C2 and since no temp was around, went down. Rooted a yellow one then snared it. Kited it up and down beach and used strictly conflagiration. With ID IV this was doing 1080-1100 damage. Got no resists, and lowest nuke was around 625. Finished fight around 60m and medded to 80 for next fight. Took a couple hits due to lack of practice with kiting and only had to refresh snare once. Second time I tried something a little different. I use root over instill/elnerik's so it's not much mana cost with a decent mana pool. I rooted then snared initially, then nuked ran a bit, rooted, nuked and repeated. Seemed to work really well with no root resists and a lot easier time managing the limited space I had to kite in. Got a couple full resists on conflagiration, but this one was red so it didn't come as much of a surprise. They were giving 3-4% a kill at 43. Third pull I didn't pay attention to what was around the turtle and caught a stonemite in my snare. Unfortunately the mite resisted and I was forced to gate at 12% health and 100% mana heh. All in all, what I thought would be a suicidal attempt at exp that was out of my league turned out to be a pretty nice solo spot if I learn to pay attention.

C.) buff.. haste, Rune IV etc.

Charge!!!

Tashed, slowed... doted.

Rune IV on pet.
Nuke Mobe.

Has anyone tried Panic Animal on the Fierce, and if so, what impact has that had on summoning behavior?

I had been fighting the cragwalkers in that zone for a few minutes. They were conning dark blue to my Bard 58 with good AA experience from each kill. Then the fierce popped. I did not realize it was a named, it conned the same, so I hit it with a slow and then started the melody of dots.

It was suddenly on top of me. Not a summon, I also thought it was a pathing issue - I'd been fighting the wolves in Nedaria with my 24 Shaman and they are all over the board - you can be running towards the docks and see a wolf in front of you and think you need to run because you have drawn an add, and it is just the same wolf.

But then it happened again, and again. I decided to run, and that was the wrong choice, I could not get far enough away from it - I ended up dieing in the water, past the camp, it would come to me when it stomped.

Interesting theory that I should consider charming a tougher mob to kill this one, but I don't see it as a possibility for me - the charm would break at least twice and I would get aggro - With both of them hitting me, even slowed, I doubt I could get a charm off.

So (1) this is a serious undercon, IMHO, especially (2) have an escape plan. I will have Mez and Charm up as a possible escape next time I go to this zone and I will go to the zone, it is just too nice. I saw some of the narrow escapes and some of the non-escapes. Usually I can escape from a summoner - just by running out of range, staying and fighting will get me killed. This thing somehow stopped me from doing that. It has more range on its summons-like pursue than the typical summoner.
easier than I thought

I was taking a walk through Natimbi the other day playing my necro (62/30AA) and found a fierce up so figured I'd give it a shot.

Cast dooming darkness to get it slowed down, cast SK (summoning began once SK hit for a tick), this sent pet at him. Ran a bit away and started casting FP, got summoned and interupted, moved away and pet had stolen aggro, got funeral pyre to hit before pet dropped and cast ToM (lifetap) then got resummoned, moved away and cast lifetap, summoned, moved and resnared, summoned, cast lifetap while tanking, summoned, moved away and recast SK, dead turtle.

Dropped shoulders and the mage spell mass mod rod which isn't on his loot table here. Sold the spell in PoK for 5k since none ever on market :P

I ended the fight at 100% HP and 40% mana. Very easy. I'm 4.7k with conviction/focus and have CA2 and CS1 tanking AAs, which help some.
