New Chardok

We had two groups here last night. Because of the double spawns everywhere we were able to get exp for each group. We ended up down in the mines. There are iksar skelly miners down there, level 55. They go down fairly easy. We also found a named sarnak: Foreman Whatshisname. He was level 57, I believe. Also went down fairly easily.

We were getting ready to pull a named Iksar when the backspawn caught us unaware. I don't know what the spawn rate is down in the mines but it's VERY fast (6 minutes maybe). Our 59 Pally went LD about 5 minutes before this. We all died. CR in Chardok is as fun as ever.

A few interesting points:

- There are slaves everywhere. They take frog, rat, iksar, and other forms. Green, almost no HPs, and won't talk to you. No faction when killed.

- Beware the dogs. Some are level 53 (the highest we saw). They didn't summon, though. In fact, I don't remember anything summoning.

- There are now safe spots. One that I can say for sure is a small room in the tunnel... it's the same room you land in if you jump left off the first bridge after passing the guardhouse up front. Three slaves, no spawns.

- Decent drops. Two that I saw for sure were:

Sarnak Bracer of Honor
AC 10 / +10 CHA / +10 HP / ALL ALL

Jade Inlaid Pauldrons (shoulder)
AC 8 / +5 STA / +3 INT / +3 AGI / +30 MANA / +5 SV MAGIC / ALL ALL

I think those are the correct stats on the pauldrons but I'm going from memory.

The 'Bridge of Death' has changed. For those who've hunted in old Chardok remember the Sarnaks who enjoyed blasting you off the double bridges just beyond the first castle. The new Sarnaks who spawn on the bridge no longer cast this knock back spell . .at least they didn't last night.

All the mobs have new names. There are more static spawns. For instance, between zone in and the Gatehouse are three sets of two static spawns. In the smallish room past the first door are three spawns. And more in other spots.
Spawn time appears to be 20 minutes or slightly less.

Updated info:
Chokidai Mangler blue to 52, Chokidai Bloodhound 53rd, Chokidai Bonesnapper, Chokidai Whelp, Chokidai Sniffer, Chokidai Growler, Sarnak Recruit blue to 52, Sarnak Slavedriver blue to 52, Sarnak Underboss 55th, Enslaved Iksar Miner 55th undead procs Heartflutter -21str -8ac debuff, Shai'din Soultrapper necro gated, Di'zok Partisan, Shai'din Conscipt SK or War, Di'zok Underling, Di'zok Channeler gated, Di'zok Recruit, Di'zok Invoker, Sarnak Overseer, Shai'din Nightfear, Di'zok Serjeant, Reanimated Partisan (undead), Reanimated Conscript (undead), Sarnak Hemlock.

Also were the Bridge Keeper (?) golem conned yellow at 56, and Foreman Mirtakk 56th down in the mines. He dropped Vial of Rolling Gas (10 charges of levitate) once and the Girdle of Flayed Iksar the second time. He has a static Sarnak Underboss PH. Watch Seajeant Riz'oul, blue to 56, appeared around the Gatehouse. He dropped Nathasar Vambraces.

All mobs at zone in, zone out and the gatehouse were blue to 56 and some green to 59th. The 55th mobs were down in the mines. Not one mob summoned, even the 55th and named.

Other mobs we saw casting but never fought are off duty Accountant, Physician, off duty Researcher, and Apprentice Herbalist.

Could a 55 druid and 55 necro camp zone out here for xp rather safley?
RE: XP

Yes. Try the zone out. If you get in trouble, you can always zone.

Problem for just the two of you will be getting to the zone out unless other people are killing the mobs in between zone in and there.

Lockpicking

I've been told there are two doors that need to be lockpicked here? Anyone know what the lockpick level requirement is? I have 200 now being 49 and not able to get to 201 until 51.

200 skill is not enough for those doors. We were in there last night and the level 50 rogue was unable to pick the doors to the royal suite.

I was able to pick the Chardok doors with a 200 PL skill and a set of +2% gnome mechanized lock picks. The ingredients for this combine are commonly available, and the tinkering skill required is less than 100. www.eqtraders.com has the recipie.

Yes the queen drops the "ancient blade" or blade #2 for the warrior epic. But she does not always drop it all royals are on a 2 respwan time.

You people that want to flame someone for making a comment that you don't agree with need to grow up. You flamed Nakano for saying that as far as he knew the Queen had never been dropped. Before you posted your accusatory comments did it occur to you to look at the date of the post? Nakano posted on Aug. 22, 2000 while the two flaming fools posted on July 19 and 29, 2001. Did it ever occur to you that nearly a year earlier than your posts that perhaps the queen hadn't been killed. PLEASE, for the love of Christ, use your own advice and think before you speak.

Ok, have heard differing opinions on this but I always like to put up FR gear anyway.....

As mentioned earlier, the Queen is literally a killing machine, if your fight gets over 45 seconds, you're almost certainly going to die, the least amount of people I did it with was 27, and I still to this day am amazed at the teamwork from that event. You will want on avg. at least 4-5 wizards for nuking, the enchanters of course for mezzing the side extras, you also want a lvl 60 cleric for Aegolism.
1. Once the group is buffed up, designate a sacrificial tank that draws main aggro on the Queen.
2. Have everyone hug the wall next to the door, do NOT sit down or open the door!!!!! This will allow for people to be out of her AoE range
3. Have the main tank rush the Queen and enchanters immediately start mezzing the extras, allow tank to stay on the Queen a solid 5-10 seconds, while this is going on, have the mages also send in their FIRE BASED pets so that they can be immune to her AoE.
4. After the initial aggro, have everyone's pets on the wench and at 50-60 percent, literally nuke the hell out of her, after about 15, tops 20 seconds into the fight, the main tank is going to be down and she will start lighting people up with her AoE unless you have a secondary assist up there after the initial 10-15 seconds that drew serious aggro, so have a secondary main assist in case for that and the extras after the Queen is dead.

Key factors, aka, Do's and Dont's
-NEVER sit when you're about to have the tank pull the Queen, if someone is, they are likely to bring the Queen to the wall next to the door, thus, resulting in a wipeout usually and a horrible, horrible CR
-Whatever you do, make sure the main tank keeps the Queen at her throne, if he/she dies, they die, but don't let the Queen come to the wall, otherwise you'll have a wipeout.
-You may want to have a friendly 57 Necro or a Necro with a 57 Summon Corpse robe in the Raid for a wipeout (they do happen sometimes so plan ahead)
-Do make life MUCH easier, have at least 1 55+ mage that can CoH to the Safe Hall for replacements, etc.

That's really about it, have done her multiple times and this way I've found works the best, hope it helps!

Gatehouse pulling?
# Jul 31 2001 at 2:19 PM Rating: Decent
I was in a group at the gatehouse with a warrior puller and he was able to pull singles. I am certain I saw his bow out when he came running back up the tunnel. But when I arrow pull the gate house I pull the whole thing. Any suggestions on how to single or double pull?
RE: Gatehouse pulling?
# Sep 10 2001 at 12:00 AM Rating: Default
I've been hunting the zoneout for about 3 days now. Basically, you have to clear all the wanderers. There are 3-4 of them, and they path from the zone in to the zone out. They can also spawn past the zoneout, and come back to get you.

After you kill the wanderers, you need to pull the 3-4 you'll see at the gate on the main floor. If you can't handle 3-4 MoBs level 46-50 at the same time, you're in trouble. Expect adds during the fights as well, probably the wanderers repop.

After you've cleared the lower floor of the gatehouse, you can start pulling the singles/doubles that stand on the gatehouse walls. Usually there is one on each side, and a wanderer that runs back and forth buffing them. Consider yourself lucky if you can get them solo. Once again, expect adds during the fight, the wanderers usually pop by the time you're pulling the walls.

My groups usually consisted of myself(47 Warrior), 54 Chanter, 55 Cleric, 52 Necro, 53 Shaman and a 45 Wizard.

In the 3 dyas there, We've gotten the follow drops:

1 Ivory inlaid shaman collar thingy
1 Sarnak Fetish
1 Ruby
2 Fire Emeralds
3 Burnished Staves

and a bunch of lower 50's spells. Mostly Enchanter, Druid, and Shaman.

The Exp here is about as good as Velks, and the MoBs aren't as hard. Also, I guess Chardok is pretty dead most of the times on most servers. We've been the only group in there the past two days.

Well, hope this helps.
happy hunting.

Chardok as a low level Enchanter
# Jun 16 2001 at 10:46 AM Rating: Default
I began hunting here at 40 as an enchanter, most of this stuff has low MR and with 200+ chr you can easily manage there as a good enchanter in your low 40s. I do recommend at least 1 warrior 50+ so you can get the mezzed ones taunted off before mez breaks. At 40 your mezzes won't have the duration you get at higher levels and you don't have the hp/ac to stand up to many hits. Also I recommend bringing a shaman or mage for mal. With Mal + Tash there wasn't a thing we pulled in tunnel/exit/entrance that i couldn't mez. Only pull we did at that level that i couldn't mez was korocust but he was a cake walk of a camp with me at 43enc, 56mnk, 55war, 55rog, 55mag, 58shm.
Dropped Malo (60 shm spell), jade inlaid crescent axe, a few worn crescent axes and other various spells.

royalty raid
# Apr 25 2001 at 4:24 PM Rating: Decent
I just wanted to give a little info here. My guild regularly raids the royalty in chardok. The prince is a walk in the park. We killed him with no deaths with 3 groups. The king is a little tougher. He has an AE fire spell that does 400 damage. High level people with good fire resists can resist that spell down below 100 damage regularly. We took him on with 4 groups and had maybe 2 deaths. The queen on the other hand is a different story. She is a killing machine. Someone said earlier about quick spawns in her area... that is correct. We had killed the king and were clearing the area to kill the queen. We pulled 2 or 3 sarnaks. Somehow the queen aggroed on us and we had 5 sarnaks and the queen. 4 groups of us were dead within 15 seconds. She has a fire based lure AE. It's unresistable and hits in 4 waves at a time. 150 damage per wave. She is killable, however. It just takes some creative tactics for a group that can't brute force her with huge numbers and great equipment.

What tactics does your guild use to bring her dows, if you don't mind? I could use info like # of groups, Classes in each group, where you pull her to, pops to watch for any info you have would be appreciated. Thanks,

I wouldn't go in unless you are lvl 50. Great place to hunt safely as you can pull next to zone. I don't think it can be done without an enchanter because the pathing is so messed up. First day I was here dropped SBS but lost roll :\, lots of spell drops, hoping I will win the roll on Sarnak Skullsplitter. Be warned though if your not a tank class you can die in seconds, literally and tanks can die pretty fast if 3 or more mobs are on you. They hit hard and fast. I only hunt with friends I know and trust here, you wouldn't want a pickup group in this dungeon, I think that is way its underpopulated.
