The below still works. Just get whatever shrink you can. but you proly only need 1 shrink potion or spell.

copy from previous post. . .
Here the formula of how to pass through locked doors: - Go to Bazaar and buy a stack of shrink potions; drink two and walk against the door until you see other side. Sit and type: "/exit". When you return check map and walk to internal corridor ... done!!! You are in. If you want you can go out using same formula ;-P

Just successfully used the shrink, sit and /exit trick today. Only had to shrink once. Mercenaries just pop through locked doors after you go through it. Thanks for the tip! :)

Pretty sure you have already gotten your epic drop by now, but this post is for anyone else needing to get there and following old, stupid advice. First, the Herbalist is NOT in chardok B, you do NOT need a key or a rogue, or a shrink or an illusion to get there. Zone in, open your map, and look for the heavy yellow square section inside what looks like a series of yellow marked tunnels. That is the Herbalists house. Turn on height filter and make your way to this area. No locked doors between there and the entrance. Actually only one door between the entrance and Herbalist that I saw, and my necro had zero issues opening it.

I'm trying to get down to the herbalist for my epic piece, but am having trouble finding the zone in Chardok B.
I read and followed what others posted about lev/DMF and float down into slave room (shortly after zoning in from BW). I exited slave room, turned left, turned right and went up a walkway just far enough so I could go to the right and float down to a room with a waterfall, some more sarnaks and the red chokodais.
Almost died b/c one of the dogs saw invis, so I FD'd and was ok....for the time being.

Fortunately, I had a harmshield up, so I figured if I determined EXACTLY where I had to run, I could get up and make a run/swim for it.

Everywhere I read said to run through a waterfall and click a lever to zone into Chardok B. The waterfall in this room doesn't allow to be passed through, at least that I noticed. Instead, I went straight and down into another room (aggroing about a zillion mobs in the process w/ harmshield timer ticking down...5...4...3...2...1....CRAP! can't find it!! Plus I'm not a real fast swimmer.
I did see a cubby-looking thing in the adjacent room with two pillars, which I thought might be these so-call levers. Clicked them both repeatedly and nothing.
Then I died.

Can someone explain for those who have never been there and have little knowledge of Chardok A? I'm fairly confident that I can solo this guy if I ever get to him.
Thanks.

Just outside of the entrance of the library is a "A Di'Zok Cryptmaster" you kill everything inside then go outside drag this mob to the door then knock it down till it runs away, it will run to the nearest live monster for help. It will go through the door and aggro the named on the otherside.

The named will come out of the room with everything else inside so be ready!

That's how you do it the old way.

I can also confirm that this works. Before even reading the posts here about getting through the doors I had my monk already by the 1st locked door, and I took my 65 necro in as a rogue shroud. I cleared the way to the door with my monk then logged the necro back in. I got right in front of the door and went to camp out, as the timer got to 5 I picked open the door. When I logged my monk back in, the door was still open. I shrink myself and fight my way to Loremaster Piza'tak, the whole reason I'm in Chardok. I ended up falling into the pit leading to the Overking. After killing him and the rest of the stuff with him, I went to the door leading back to the Loremaster but of course I forgot that it's locked. So I walk up as close to the door as I can thinking I might be able to glitch my way through, of course I can't and I camp out. I logged my necro back in to try picking the door but I couldn't, back to my monk again. When I log my monk back in, I walk right through the door.

After going through all of that, I check the posts here and see the post by williamrocha saying how to get through the doors. Man I wish I checked the posts earlier, that's a really helpful post. Also, for those that want a shrink effect but don't want to keep buying potions, go to The Deep and camp Koxiux the Imperceptible for his Wand of Imperceptibility. That's what I use for my monk when I need a shrink effect.

doubtful... the monsters in chardok have a lot of hp compared to a 39 monk's dps. i'd try soloing the western half of overthere until closer to 45, and then maybe city of mist. these mobs have less hp and don't hit quite as hard.

As of today it's a hot zone so now there will be a few groups there and will be a bit easier (less add management)....
This ought to be fun.

Simply toon info for you to make a smarter decision:

I am a 54 necro/ikky with 68 aa's, this puts me as one of the top of the solo class/race combos in the game...
I still have a bit of trouble soloing and usually stay very close to the zone in and constantly am aware of my path to zone out..
Not sure how you would fare in there solo but that may give you something to compare..

currently 59 ranger, went here to check it out when i was 57 maybe 2 months or more back. i didn't get to far into the zone cause just after the ent tunnel is a building with mobs all around it .. above and the sides. that would have made my getting in and safely pulling a problem. it's indoors so my lull spell wouldn't work. and when i'm solo-ing i have up my self stun +25 dd proc buff which can draw agro from surround mobs. i was able to single pull the ent and exit tunnels with very little on adds. the only adds i would have were if i took too long in killing a perticular mob and one of the ones i just killed re-popped.

btw, i haven't gone back there since i turned 59 and got my latest dd spell, dustdevil. since i have an improve damage 3 aug, i get roughly 610 to 690 damage with it. and since i have the spell casting fury AA that allows me to crit my dd spells, i've gotten 1.2k crits with that spell.

just my 2c,
drago

Hehe.. me too man. 49 Ogre SK.. I zone in yesterday for the first time and kill one little Sarnak standing there. I say to myself, I say "Self, this isn't bad! Not bad at all!" Then I turn a corner when a big Sarnak spots me & comes running. He's dark blue, I have Virtue & KEI, no problem, right? BIG problem!! He gets down to 75% and two little scaled doggys aggro on me. Now I have 2 dark blues and a white on me. Crap. I turn around to zone out and no zone line!! By the time I turned back around, the little turds have taken over 2k hitpoints from me. I'm at 20%. I start lifetapping like crazy but all 3 are quadding me for 75-100 each hit!! Loading, please wait...

Moral of the story, DON'T even TRY to solo until you know this zone better FIRST!

Well, I'm surprised that as a soloing SK you didn't try Feign Death rather than lifetaps. But more important, yes, you need to realise that the zone-out is not at the entrance, and plan accordingly.

My group of 54 cleric, 54 bard, 55 SK went here tonight and got as far as taking out the Captain room (even got the named to pop) and the Ancient Guardian at the bridge. Yes you can get a lot of adds if you're not careful, but it's a fine zone for romping in. The only real issue I have with it being a hotzone is that some of my characters are trying to maintain good faction there. (Just like others of my characters want good faction in the Overthere outpost so they were bummed when Kaesora and Karnors were hotzones. I guess it all comes around eventually!)

I mention this because i haven't seen it posted elsewhere yet. Not saying it isn't, just i haven't seen it.

There is a tunnel system connecting the 2 lakes, the ones with the waterfalls. I started from the bottom one, but it is 2 way.

Swim -inside- the waterfall in fron tof the herbalist hut, between the 2 sheets of water. Head to the south side of it, up at the top ( you can swim up the inside of the waterfall of course ) there is a small opening. Follow this and you come out at the other lake, the smaller one. Swim up that waterfall, swim -out- of it and you;re on the arch, on the bridge that passes through the water, just around the corner from Wraith of a Di'Zok Hero

Wife found something out the other night while looking up info on the Herbalist thats not on this page. Never had to bother with the bridge, get levitate and there at entrance to castle, instead of goin in, Face the castle and look to your left. Up on the wall toward the ceiling theres an open passage way. Lev to that and its pretty much a straight shot down to the Herbalist room. there are two junctions on the way down so have your map ready. Also, some undead in the mix of mobs so take your time and watch those corners! Hope this helps, don't normally leave post heh.

I was in Chardock after the Herbalist. I remember we crossed one bridge but when we came to the second we levitated down and ended up right in front of the bank. Mobs are there waiting for you so be ready. After you clear the front of the bank go north which is left if your looking at the bank door. There is a brown body of water with a brown water fall. Jump in and swim through this will take you to the back entrance of the bank area. There is a little house just beyond it which is where the Herbalist is.

We spent 6 hours there killing. You seem to have to keep all the different assistance cleared to get the PH to respawn. You have to keep killing the PH until the man himself spawns. But don't expect the herb just because he has arrived. We called it a night and will have to go back again and again and again I am sure.

Camping a spawn isn't bad but when it is one that is this hard to get to it is tough.

Yes, there are two 201+ locks that need to be picked on the way to the king. The first is in the hall leading to the library. The second is in the library, on the bottom floor. So yes, you'll need a backstabber.

Also, one thing that I haven't seen mentioned in detail here anywhere - There is a pit trap in the floor just after that second locked door (in the library). When passing through that doorway, make sure your puller and your party hugs the LEFT wall. The trap is on the right. If you fall through the hole you'll be in the company of the king and 5 or 6 of his friends, and they don't take too kindly to unannounced visitors.

Single pulling king
# Dec 30 2003 at 11:36 AM Rating: Decent
We had a fantastic rogue/monk duo that attempted to single pull the king to our waiting raid party, approx 25 people avg level 58. The monk had the king on at least 10 occasions and could not pull him far enough, he kept despawning or pathing back to spawn. (Not sure, cause I am not the monk) My question is... Have they changed the King's pathing so that he is tethered to the castle?

Yes, thats plenty, assuming they all know what they are doing. Kill your way into the library above king room, making sure to move quickly after you kill, as repops are pretty fast. Crowd control is essential here, and 2 chanters really make things easier.

You need a rogue to pick the door down to king room, then make sure everyone avoids the trap in the floor (levitate helps with that, if you aren't 100% confident that they can follow directions). Move into the hallway, and clear down to king room. Then, at that point, you need to pacify everything in king room, pull each guard solo, or maybe 2 at a time, until you get king solo. Then jump the overking, hes tougher than the guards, but really not that hard, with a good tank.

Once the room is cleared, its a simple matter to kill them as they pop, for as many spawns as you have clerics.

BTW, watch yourselves when heading BACK up. If possible, bring a wizzy or several druids, and just TL/port/gate out. Otherwise, when you approach the locked door back to the library, there is a REAL good change of a huge number of adds. We had about 10 chain aggro thru the door, and they wiped a big chunk of our raid. This was after successfully killing Overking several times, and the queen. We would Have TLed out, but we promised our chanter we'd do the prince too. We got him, but had to fight back in for that part, after the portion of the raid who evacced, and those who got corpse summoned, were all back and ready to go.

Difficulty Getting To Nobles Now?

Last night my guild had 3 fairly well stacked groups of average level of 57 working their way down to the nobles room for our cleric epics. Things went very well until we got to the main foyer after the door which needs to be lockpicked when we found the foyer populated with 3 Chancellors (which I couldnt find any information about).

We pacified everything else in the room except for the 3 chancellors and then tried to pull these but the puller (me) died halfway across the bridge. These three chancellors are unmezzable, unpacifyable and completley wipe the raid. Since the zone revamp, has anyone got any tips for dealing with these mobs? Were we too low of level to deal with this?

The only strategy I can think of is to use a FD puller to try to single pull these out but Im wondering if anyone has any other ideas.

The best strategy for pulling the castle is to flat out AoE the critters. All you need is 2 or 3 good chain casting enchanters and 3 to 4 good ae'rs(wizzies, mages, druids, clerics too). The trick is in how to do the AE. What we do is fight our way to the bridge, then have the AE team face the wall (I bellieve it is east if I remember right) and send in the puller to get a mob or 10 :).

Levitate works well on the pull since you can float in the side "window" and run through and gather up several mobs. Rune is your friend as a puller for this task. Get as many mobs as you can before you start taking too much damage and head for the front door. Get them back to camp and run into the middle of the casters before you FD. As soon as mobs hit camp, let the stuns begin. Melee should be to one side and surround the mobs and fight them from behind pushing them into the wall and the casters. It is a good idea to have the MT sitting in the middle as well.

You should be able to clear the front part of the castle in no more than 2 good pulls. Move into the castle and set up at the bottom of the stairs in the corner. Send the puller to run the circle when mana is good and he will bring all the mobs at once. AE them down and then move to your Prince kill spot. AE the Princes room with all Melee focused on the Prince. Loot the head and other loot and move to the other door. Pull the little foyer and then move into it. Pull the top of the Library into the foyer area, then move into the far right corner of the top of the Library to pull the bottom up. Move down to the bottom right corner and pull the "old herbalist" room, being careful of the pit trap. Move into the room you just pulled and then pull the hall behind the hidden wall and make sure not to aggro the king or queen room. Move to the top of the ramp and pacify the kings room using bind sight. Once everything is pacified, send the puller to tag the king. You will get the king and his 2 guards. Either OT the guards or just AE them. If the pull goes well you will be done with the King and you can clean out his room and get ready for the Queen.

The best way to take the Queen is to bum rush her with the MT first, melee about 1 second behind, followed by the chanters who will AE mezz the room, then the casters. Nuke her down fast, since she has a nasty AE. Grats to the people who won their epic pieces!

Been there done that... funny thing is there was a gm in zone, he was standing right at the start of the bridge, when our fd puller brought the mobs it may have worked sept someone told the main tank to tag before he should have and he brought them all down of the gm for some reason. nasty looking, lots of heavy hitting before they switched back to the mt who droped insanely fast..it was like being in a car accident, just bam guild wipe..bad spot to wipe with mobs that spawn right there..anyways, had a non-kos person with us who had raised his faction for quests, he pulled all our corpses past there to a safe spot, we went on to get our clerics drop..dont know if the fd would have worked but of course i'm guessing it would..other option would be to have each group take a mob if your groups are balanced enough..or instead of going through the whole zone to get there have a non kos mage summon people..our guy on the inside is a necro so he can just kill the mage, drag him, rez him, and start summoning. easy and fast way of doin cdok fer yer clerics.
Entrance to Chardok B
# Jul 14 2003 at 5:35 PM Rating: Good
The entrance to the Halls of Betrayal can be found down near the herbalist shack. When you approace the Herbies - hang a left and go past the water towards the water curtain. On the right hand wall you will see a lever. Click the lever and Poof - you are in Chardok B. Populated by lots of undead so Pally's are in heaven. Went with one group most in their sixtys - no chanter - and were able to handle three at a time no problem. Highest level mobs appeared to be around level 58-60, but we didn't find Korucust the boss mob so didn't get a chance to con him.

heh, i have a 65 tank and a 65 sham pull herbalist with a 55 pally on the side i only use to rez the tank, tank and sham are max ally tho, and what i ruin rebuilds uber fast in Char B.

sham goes in and targets herbalist, goes back to Char B entrance and faces the switch.

tank goes in and hits herbalist, runs back to shaman and plays dead.. too real tho..=/

tank lives long enough to let me get back to sham, cast root, and zone into Char B, come back and watch the rest of the crowd leave. pally rezzes tank and begine the killing of a single mob.. herbalist. i manage this 2 and 3 boxing on a single computer, so the sham root has to be dependable because of the rez zoning.

hope this helps ya atleast a little, sorry i cant feed ya on the royals.

Yeah we would love to find the trigger or entrance to this zone as well. An 11 person raiding party went to Chardoc last nite and got wiped by the bridge keeper when our enchanter couldnt get a bad pull mezzed or slowed (they were too low level).

It also seems that pathing has changed a bit in this zone. We found a number of named mobs close to the entrance which we fought and killed. One was carrying the Fighting Baton. Also seems there are some bugs with this zone, namely battle spam. Noticed that the text that precedes a mobs attack ("A Chokodai Sniffer growls and lunges as it attacks") repeats over and over and over. Real annoying.

The doors you're trying to get through (at least the ones I suspect you are) are locked and don't have keys available. They need to be picked by your local friendly rogue. I'm not sure what lockpick skill is needed though, I suspect 210.

Not very, you need 56 to single pull the ZI/ZO tunnels. These tunnels require you to fight two at once unless you can single pull, or you can pull with root and simply fight the other. If root breaks get ready for some pain, and if the occasional roamer decides to join in the fun you'e probably hosed at that point.

Chardok mobs hit hard and fast.

52-ish people will generally have an entire group for these tunnels, so I'm not really sure how effective soloing is at that level. I suppose it would depend upon:

1) Your gear.
2) The buffs you go with.

You could try it, but I suspect you're a tad low.

A group of 45-50s could fight in the ZI/ZO tunnels, but this is a BYOG (Bring Your Own Group) zone.

At that level I'm not sure I'd mess with any other areas.

Most of the items in Chardok have a random chance to drop on any Mob, so if you only camp the entrance you might see one or two drop.

Do not forget an Enchanter in here, crowd control is very important in this zone.

Good luck !

I'm sorry...just wanna hit a few points here... I have my main who's 60 druid... alt Cleric 56. I've gone PAST the falls with a group of 5... Enchanter 51, Rogue 48, Warrior 52 and my 2 Characters. The named may be a bit difficult... but you're groups doesn't seem to be that good of a unit.
Raid Parties of 3 group of 50 plus are cool if you can't work together... but it seems some of you are having operation problems within your sects. Might wanna change fighting styles a tad bit. Granted you can't do Queen without higher levels, but moving in past falls and what not is NOT a Raid Function.
Chardok has GREAT EXP and some medium leveled Gear. If you can get a well working group ( Meaning slows are timed correctly, mez's from Enchanter or Necro, Charming by your Druid and your Cleric Double Marking everything *Is not a dot, use it while it's mez'd* ) you shouldn't have to worry about anything.
MIND YOU... I'm NOT putting down anyone, I'm simply stating you need to work on your grouping skills. Don't panic. Remain calm and work your situation. You should be able to get in there with a NICE group and gather some EXCELLENT EXP. Loot isn't always everything.... loot comes with EXP and LEVELS.
Don't get discouraged also... take a death, gather your corpses and start all over. You DEFINITELY learn from your mistakes... those that don't learn are usually the ones that give up right away.

This zone has been upgraded, by quite a bit. Nightfear now cast ignite bones amongst other spells. There is also a new mob called the Revealer near the observer spawn that nukes for 1150. This is a tough tough zone now, in my opinion.
