I picked up the staff off the bazaar the other day.

1. The item can be clicked, but must bo done while staff is equipped (ie since it is a two-handed weapon, it uses up both primary and secondary slots), and is thus different from the white ceramic band which can be clicked from inventory.

3. Flame bolt is line-of-sight only ... using it on slopes and mountainous terrain can be pain because the bolt does not land.

4. The cast time is 13+ secs .... reeeaalllly long time, but save on mana and there is no cast interval.

Overall, I have had to change my tactics slightly when using the staff, but I am pretty happy with it.

hell can this staff be used for twinks? that would be really powerful, btw, I am in FV, nothing but epics is not NO DROP here

I don't believe the proc starts kicking in till lvl 46, so wouldn't be able to twink a lower lvl mage with it.

Oh, and you want to see overprice? Was for sale all weekend on Veeshan for 50k! I have a feeling it will be in their inventory for a while at those prices...

my wife has a lvl 49 mage. the damage bracelet lets this hit up to 400 damage now. i dont think the casting time focues works on it though

8/20 2HB weight 6.9 Unlimited Right Click Cinder Bolt 333DD. Requires Line of Sight, but much easier to hit mob than regular bolt spells. There is a 13.5 second cast time, No recast time.One of the best Mage weapons out there, right up there with boots of bladecalling which are no-drop. From what I have seen in 2 years on EQ, this item is ultra-rare.Must be equipped to work.

Got one today, 2/2/2. Dropped from a Lesser Guardian...i believe the name is right...the golem looking things on the bridge near where the Bridgkeeper spawns. Made one mage quite happy.

Everyone is talking about R-clicking to nuke from this stick, but the info show it's a Random/Unlimited proc. To my knowledge that means you must be engaged in combat for the bolt to proc. Can someone in possession of this staff clarify?

This item is indeed clickable. Allakhazam's data is entered manually, and proc vs. click info is often not available, Allakhazam often guesses proc for any weapon.

I'd been sitting on one of these bad-boys for a while. I have a 31 WAR who really needed a Lammy, and so I offered up a trade. Best I was able to get was Lammy+1k for this. I think that's a bit low, but honestly a lot of mages just don't want to give up that second slot to a 2HB.

All this on 7th hammer.

yeah, clicking on item while in inventory gives you the "must equip to use".

btw someone GAVE me one of these bad boys. Only 35 now, but when get up a few levels will be bad news. I'm a 'bolt mage' anyways, so right up my alley

Seems to be random. The only time I've ever seen it drop, it came from a Chardoki Golem (congrats, Merryl.)

casting time is 15 seconds. It begins to work at 46 and it's an awesome item in groups and in solo.
A little trick : pull with malosi, send pet, right click staff, quickly write /sit and enter, med 10 seconds, write /sit off and enter. Repeat until done, nuke once if needed :) This way you can med for about half a bubble mana during fight while chain casting 333 bolts every 15 secs (enough to kill a low blue at 54 with an air pet).
This staff changed my life :)

With the patch as of June 27th 2001, the ability to med while waiting on the staff is not available.

but with a horse or dragmar you can med while using it...would love to have one of these.

just got one of these it is awsome clickable 333 dd a mana saver and a half. btw the wt is not 10 it is 6.9 cast time is a bit long though about the same as arch shielding not sure what lvl it becomes usable. it works for me at lvl 52 but would not for my friend at lvl 21
