Freeport is the gateway into Antonica, acting as a hub of sorts for the continent. After the trek across the Ocean of Tears, visitors dock in the Freeport Harbor and check in with the Port Authority. The eastern part of Freeport is home to the Freeport Militia, the League of Antonican Bards, Steel Warriors, Dismal Rage, and Coalition of Tradesfolk Illegal.

At the southern tip of the city is the gate to the Desert of Ro. Within the Arena run by the Steel Warriors is a massive statue of the Maiden of Rage, Sullon Zek. This statue acts as the portal into the Plane of Rage.

The only reason it says this zone is "connected" to the Plane of Sky is because if you jump off one of the islands that make up Sky, you'll fall and zoned into East Freeport (if you don't hit one of the islands below you, that is) and land in the water by the docks.

You can't actually ACCESS Sky from East Freeport (unless there's a Wizard there to port you up, but that's obvious).

I've noticed over the past 2 weeks that the merchants in Hallard's Resale Shop have completely disappeared. Even after a server reboot they did not show up (so I know for fact that someone didn't kill them). Is this Verant's way of preventing us from earning money, by purchasing rusty weapons and turning them into blocks of ore?

The "shared" Int spells are sold by a merchant in the first building you see when you zone into S. Felwithe. Run up the stairs, rather than going left to the arching bridge, and go to the vendor on your right. That's where you can get things like Gate, Invisibility, Bind Affinity, et cetera, et cetera.

A trip wire
# Nov 05 2001 at 9:01 PM Rating: Decent
I took my baby wizard (5) over to the inn, planning on going downstairs to find some secret entrance. A trip wire was activating in the background. With just little effort, I managed to get close enough to be killed by its 220 pts dmg. I got my corpse, and tried the vacant bldg. I wandered around searching for the entrance when I saw A trip wire was activating. I ran screaming like a little girl. What am I doing wrong? I see no reference to that thing anywhere, and I truly want to go below. Is there another entrance below the tavern that isn't booby-trapped? Any help would be appreciated.

I just took and excerpt from my post under Paladins and posted here since it is of general use and applicable to this zone.

Tumpy Tonics - This is a GREAT way of increasing faction with the FP Paladins, the Coalition of Tradefolk, and the Coalition of Tradefolk Illegal. Fill yourself up with backpacks and take only 1 stack of food and about 60 water, hop on the boat to Ocean of Tears and get off on Sister Isle, run to the merchant there and fill up on Kiola Nuts, then hop back on the boat (if your fast you can catch the same boat) and get off in Butcherblock. Run to Kaladim and give Tumpy (or Trumpy - the booze merchant near the Arena) 1 kiola nut and 1 water. He gives u a Tumpy Tonic, do this till you're out of nuts. Hop back on the boat to FP and wait in the Seafairer's Roost (by the dock) for Groflah (he spawns at night). Hand him the tonics (you can give him 4 stacks of 4 tonics at a time). BINGO! You're faction goes up. With 200 Tonics (I could have used less) I increased my Ogre Warrior from KoS to the Paladins to Allied.

Not sure, but check in Ak'Anon before you run to Freeport, it's a much shorter run, and I'd think fairly likely that it would be there as gnomes are big on being int casters. If you've never been there before, walk up to one of the clockwork guides, hail them, and ask them how to get to the Library (may have to call it by its full name, which I think is "Library Mechanica", or "Library Megamechanica"

# Aug 18 2001 at 11:25 PM Rating: Decent
You should be able to. Don't worry about the shark if you enter from the docks. You won't be anywhere near it. Do newbie quests by talking to the folks in the guild. Three of them (at least) will give you easy little quests that will net you some coin, a nifty magic item, and faction. A big plus for raising faction with the local Merchants.

That depends on your faction. If you're a dwarf, other dwarves probably like you better than the humans, so they'll charge you less. A quick guide is to consider them, the consider scale goes like this:

ready to attack
threatening
dubious
apprehensive
indifferent
amiable
kindly consider
warmly
regard you as an ally

the farther down the list you are, the less they'll charge you for items, and the more they'll give you for stuff you sell to them.

EFP tunnels via shad guild
# Feb 05 2001 at 9:14 AM Rating: Default
In the shadow knight and nec guild hold up under the slums, there is a passage to the rear that zones to west freeport tunnels. Now I am fairly new in FP, havin my first character on Luclin FINALLY lvl 10 shadow knight, and stuck my nose apparently where it did not belong. I ventured down the tunnel, having heard of the FP tunnels that serve to get us evil classes around without getting KOS'd by paladins, and the good news is I found no Paladins. The BAD news is that something called a drowned citizen, more specifically several of them, mugged my then 8 lvl SK and beat him to death. Luckily, I was able to enlist the help of a friend to retrieve my corpse from their clutches. However, my question is if these tunnels are supposed to be for moving about unbeknownst to the goody npc's, why are there dangerous critters in them, that could catch a newby by surprise? Well, I guess everything has its risks, but I thought that kind of strange, but whatever. I guess I'll have to be more careful.
East Freeport Tips and Stuff
# Aug 24 2000 at 11:14 PM Rating: Excellent
15 posts
East Freeport is an area that is frequently overlooked by newbies. Outside the South Gate, there is a newbie area that is approximatly the same size as the one in West Freeport, except there is usually little or no competition for kills. There are two guards there as well, and vendors are close by.

There are also two quests that can be very beneficial that start in East Freeport. In the entrance to the evil class/religion part of the city (under the tavern and through an illusionary wall), there the are two NPC's that give the quests. You should be able to find them quickly. One is Nystral, a female dark elf, the other is a male dwarf standing next to a male human. I am a High Elven Cleric who worships Tunare, and neither were KoS to me, leading me to believe that almost any Class/Race/Religion combination can safely do these quests. What follows is a spoiler of some sorts, but since these quests are so easy and quick it shouldn't really spoil anything.

***SPOILER***

Nystral will begin talking to you when you /hail her. Follow the prompts until she mentions [Janam and Rebby's]. Ask "Where is Janam and Rebby's?" and she will give you a note to bring to Rebby (more on that in a bit). Nearby (not in the same room) is the dwarf. The man next to him asks for some Dwarven Ale, if you give some to him, you get no faction, and xp. The dwarf tells you he needs some help. You do not have to buy the man any Dwarven Ale, you can just say to the dwarf "What message?". The message is to Janam in West Freeport.

In West Freeport, by the monk guild are a couple of merchants (who don't sell anything), Janam and Rebby. When you give each their respective notes, you will get experience. Janam gives you a note to deliver back to the dwarf, and Rebby says nothing at all. In your inventory there will be an item called "Rebby's Rat Whiskers". Give the whiskers to Nystral and the note to the dwarf. Here's the good part about these quests: You will gain faction with Freeport Milita, Coalition Tradesfolk, and a few others. The best part about this is that you will take no faction hits. You will also gain a little bit of cash, but not much. If you are a casting class, you can bind by either Janam and Rebby or Nystral, and you will only have to run half as much if you gate. A few hours of doing this will get you very good faction with the Freeport Militia (good for paladins and clerics) and several others. Not to mention like 1 pp :p

Good luck in East freeport :)

The two note delivery quests are without a doubt some of the best faction quests in the entire game. You can use these quests to boost a whole bunch of "corrupt" group factions spanning all the way to Qeynos without taking any negative faction hits. Look at these web pages for more info on these quests.
