Took this spawn on as last part of the Hunter Quest for a guild Hunter Raid. Most of the mobs in this zone were rare but this one took nearly 48 hours during one of those "increased probability of spawns" phases.
Whether right or wrong, I found a spot at /waypoint -572, 1057, -122 which appears to be near several tracks and/or spawn points. At times I had 5 or 6 mind burrower corpses splayed around me like a flower, but I got the Thought Stealer in the end. Corpse was NE of me at this location so maybe that's where it came from.
Hate this zone, always did especially way back when this zone actually meant anything. And to make matters worse, lucid shards were dropping like confetti.

i fought this 3 times on the hills facing AR. easy to kill for 64 enchanter.. i just make my pet a pumpkin,tash/slow it,stand in front of it with arcane rune/uproar and let hasted pet beat on it while i hold agro and take nearly no damage at all. its really gimp after being slowed and crippled so try it out the ear is nice

yeah he is a easy kill for a bard just takes a long time i downed him at lvl 57 took around 10 minutes had to click on selo's 4 times dropped me the ring tho ,he has about 30k hp doesn't summon and doesn't cast .
Dropped him today while camping shards, spawned near DSP zoneline, dropped the Gloves unfortunetly, would have really loved the earring

Anyone wanna say exactly where he spawns? all i keep seeing is where the PH spawns and who has and has not killed him.

Been camping him for about 2 weeks now to get all our guild BSTs their own copy of Spirit of Snow. Have had lvl 58 Ranger spell Eagle Eye drop several times as well as the lvl 56 Ranger spell Mark of the Predator.

logged in yesterday morning no one in the sone and i started to pull at DSP zone line for sone xp. brought up track and named was up so i tried a few times to pull to DSP zone, dont do it to many adds! i used the little valley next to UP to kill him in. pulled him over there and rooted had to zone do to a few adds (necro was one ) made it to zone with about 25% health zoned in healed up and zoned back, invised ran back and wait for adds to claer then snared rooted back and forth in the little vally. i used thrug druid bracer epic and all my magic based dots no fire got resisted 2 times took about 15 minutes. had VOQ but droped 3quaters the way threw fight THANK GOD for CLICKYS hehee droped ring going to try him again

as far as how hard he hit for hit me for 180 twice just sat there to see what he hit for enrages at 10% dontknow what he hits for then didnt want to find out also only resisted root about 3 times and broke root early about 4 times rest was just another druid ROOT DOT XP GEAR GO HOME day

ok i killed this guy today, drop gloves. just to get that out of the way. he roams the zone looks like he starts near the acheva zone in that area roam over to the vamp house area where all the bats fly a over then doubles back to the zoneline again. hes an easy *** kill took him with one 65 warrior one 64 rog one 65 chanter and one 63 clr. no deaths and the chanter had to keep two adds mezzed the whole fight. he has a buttload of hp, which made for a long fight.

As a level 53 druid could I take this down with a KEI? If not could me and another level 53 druid (friend) take this guy down?
You could do it by yourself if you manage to get him to a reasonable add-free spot. (Examples -- Toiler Hill plain, the hills south of Akheva, DSP zoneline)
If you have trouble getting him there, load up egress and just snare everything that aggros, get him to where you want him, root, run far away, egress, kill. That's how I did him at 53. Just make sure to not blow all your mana on Winged Death and focus more on mana-less dots. (Velious Bracer, Epic)

Solo´ed one in ME near DSP-Zone with my 55 Bard, took about 10 minutes of kiting around one of the trees using Drums of Karana, must have had about 25k-26k TP.
Dropped the Thorn Ring and a Ranger Spell - Mark of the Predator - to the very disappointment of a guildie BST when I bragged about my victory on guild channel. :) - "Yeah, you remember those little Xakra Worms near Shar Vahl? - I just battled the Dune-Version in ME..."
Addendum:
MOB hit me once - wasn´t careful enough and hugged the tree for a moment - took me down by about 20% damage for 350 TP.
Most critical moment of the whole action was when a group decided to set camp inside of my kiting-circle and forced me to move to the next tree to avoid losing aggro to some sitting wizzies.

Took it down with a 56 shaman and 56 SK (myself) once slowed it hit for a max of 177, rarely hitting twice and missing a lot. Pulled it with a Dooming Darkness, didn't resist that or the shammy's slow. After the slow took he was just so much meat to grind.
Took him down this morning with a 61SK, 55 Shammie and 59 Rogue (Botting all 3). Was going to oull a beast when this big sucker pops over the top of the hill near the battlemaster camp. Took him down with some time but over all was very easy. Didnt resist slow from the shammie or my festering darkness. Dropped the earring which my Shammie now proudly sports!
I've killed this worm 5 times for 4 pair of gloves. My method is this. I bind myself in the little valley in the SE corner of the zone. In that corner there's a mountain ridge that keeps mobs out of the valley. You can sit atop the ridge and look over the zone. When you spot the free roaming worm (the only worm on track too) Kill him. next spawn is 5 hours 40 min. You will either get the roamer or the thought stealer. Pull the stealer into valley and root him. If you have adds egress then gate back. The stealer will be still sitting there w/o all the adds when you get back. Root and dot. he should go down.

Camped near AR from about 9pm until it spawned at about 1245 - had a SUCK pull - killed the mage that tried to tag but caught the train - we all zoned - and then a guidly BL/ MAge and Dru zone out from AR with us and smacked him down... my earing finnaly droped - all passed on the roll - cause they were being nice - cause they knew how much I have been fiening on this earing.

PC on Spirit of Snow is 5k - though you will have no competition selling it i have it seen it range from 500pp to 10kpp since no one has a refrence to price it lol.

Solod it tonite with my 60 druid first time i have ever seen it up. Was really an easy kill took about 20mins give or take to kill, with a few adds. Just rooted them away. Droped BST spell. And does anyone know the PC on the spell ?

No, not all 54+ mobs summon (old saying was that all mobs 50+ summon, which isn't true either). Some mobs summon, others don't. There's no real way of telling which ones will and which ones won't aside from testing it out yourself or seeing it in action. Luckily for all the priests out there (I have my Gloves of Earthcrafting after months of chasing Vindi's head), this leech of a worm doesn't summon and can easily be solo'd by druid as low as 57 (although the fight will be much easier the higher up you are). It's not very MR so snares should land easily and your DoTs shouldn't have a problem.

This thing dropped the "Eagle Eye" (RNG/58) spell, with the ring today. Our Ranger was quite happy of his pull :)

1) He doesn't summon
2) He doesn't move that quickly
3) He doesn't cast
Just load up 4 chants (or 3 chants and fufil's) and run round in circles chanting at him until he dies. Keep up Selo's (the 2 minute version) just in case you get adds or miss a turn.

Heh heh didnt know it was level 60 or would have passed. Took it down with 53 druid 51 druid and 2x 51 rangers. Snare, root, dot, snare snare snare , root, root ,root. Got the ring.
It appears to roam around the middle of the level. It was just sitting near the bowl where all the toilers roam when I logged in last night. I followed it around the zone a bit as it roamed around the zone. A good way to spot the PH is to look for the only mind burrower roaming (that isn't chasing someone already of course.)

Not a ground spawn. The place holder is a roaming burrower thats up around every 6 or so hours. He paths between Akheva and UP zones. If you sit on the safe hillside by akheva you'll see him path by if you clipping plan is turned all the way up. Not hard to see, you'll be like, wtf is that when a blackish looking blob moves around in the distance.
He's not worth camping by himself, but if you want to try I would suggest sitting next to akheva on the long hillside and work on killing the 2 goranga scouts that spawn at the rock while you wait. One scout is a PH for the battle master. Have seen many slighted spaulders drop from him, as well as crap loot like the war hammers and the(what everyone say no longer drops) strenght of grodan. Spaulders seem to be his common drop.
