the ingame description says this last 0:15:00 but when i cast it the duration is only 0:4:00 . that's 11 minutes less than the spell says.Keep this in mind when using.

I should know this by now but I don't so here goes-

With a DS spell, is there any absortion of damge or does it merely inflict damage when you are hit? Is it also worth the mana (my DRU toon is 45) to cast a DS spell on group members when mana is tight and you are fighting a MOB with a couple thousand hp?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, this line of DS does not absorb damage. The mob takes no damage from the DS if it misses, so when the mob does not miss, both the mob & player will be taking damage.

Is it worth the mana? That's a matter of opinion I guess. Keep in mind, there are other Damage Shields that stack with this line (Call of Earth for one, a Ranger only spell) & IDEALLY, aggro should only be on one person. IMO, it's not worth the mana to DS the whole group. DS on MT should suffice.

Almost true, :), if you parry, they still take damage, and they still basically "miss." thats a plus, but the effect on that weapon aint worth using if you have a 46 druid, cuz then damage shiled from 46 druid is is what 19, i believe or there a bouts and thats 10 more will help so much more on mobs with lots more hp, cuz lets say average mob 2.5k hp, and hits the tank with 19 damage shield, bout lets say 30 times a fight, thats 570 damage you dont have to do, plus the riposts and stuff will add more DS damage to mob, so then if using practice sword 270 damage, and the point of DS is to do as most as can with DS, with taking minimal damage from mob, so it basically kills itself, and so the little xtra mana spent on the DS for tank is well more worth it then this sword, and plus you have to wait for it to proc, an if get disspelled yer screwed if your waiting on proc. Thats just half my 2cp, take it or not. But somone advice, tanks if you have 375-400pp to spare go to bazaar type "/bazaar" type in "skin of flame" and see the 10 dose "kilva's skin of flame potions" buy 1 if you can spare 375-400pp buy 2 if u can spare 800pp, cuz right now im 57 monk, they last for little over 13 mins, thats 130 mins of damage shield, an at 57 its doing 29 damage per hit, the big plus on this is, it stacks witht he druids or mages damage shield, so with a druid of lvl 49 im doing 53 per damage shield hit, and with higher druids its 29 damage from mine, plus the thorns damage from druid. Thats my 1CP to = 2CP. I usually buy 3 at a time.

I have a level 13 Druid who was casting this spell on himself as a buff. The brambles fell away before I could load my offensive spells. Is this a spell worth keeping? Or am I using it wrong?

Thanks

Damage shields are short duration spells, wich you normally cast just before you are about to engage a mob.

You should try and cast this spell like 2 seconds or so before you begin a fight. And hell yes, this spell is way worth it. Everytime a mob hits you, they take 5-6 damage.
