Romar Sunto may be found at +395, +95, +18.

You say, 'Hail, Romar Sunto'

Romar Sunto says 'I am Romar Sunto, servant of Solusek Ro. I am searching for the [coin] of the mighty enchanter [Tash] - if you are interested in helping me acquire it, I will [reward] you with a powerful spell. I am also a dispenser of the Staff of Ro, sometimes also called [darkwood staves].'

You say, 'What coin?'

Romar Sunto says 'Tash had a collection of ten antique silver coins that were left in different cities around the world. If you were to collect all 10 coins, I would give you a [coin pouch] that would let you combine them into the master coin of Tash. If you are interested, I will sell you a copy of the Tome of Tash, detailing where the coins were reportedly left, for a mere 50 gold.'

You say, 'Who was Tash?'

Romar Sunto says 'Tash was a mighty enchanter and master jewelcrafter.'

You say, 'What is the reward?'

Romar Sunto says 'I will reward you with a scroll for the spell Tashania. For personal use, of course.'

Romar Sunto says 'Once you combine the coins within the pouch, you must take the Coin of Tash to Tarn Vislin in the HighKeep library to get it enchanted. Give him the coin and he will enchant it for you.'

Your faction standing with Temple Of Sol Ro got better.
Your faction standing with Shadowed Men got worse.
You gain experience!!

You say, 'What coin pouch?'

Romar Sunto says 'I will lend you this coin pouch - put all 10 antique silver coins into it and combine them into the Coin of Tash.'

For 50 gp, he will sell you a book called "Tome of Tesh" [sic] on where to find all 10 coins and will give you A Coin Pouch to combine them in. The coins are called "An Old Silver Coin," and can be found in the following places:

(1) Ak'anon - Near great wheel (not in water) (+1990, -260, -125);
(2) South Kaladim - Pool by warrior's guild (+75, +360, -5);
(3) Erudin Palace - in the pool outside the guilds (+703, +740, +44);
(4) North Qeynos - under Temple of Life "UFO" in the Koalindl Fish Pool (-90, -445, -10);
(5) Halas - lake in front of city to the left of docks on a ledge (-138, +179);
(6) Oggok - in lake near warrior guild at the north end (+103, +108);
(7) Grobb - in pool near bar where you first enter the zone (+197, -261);
(8) Neriak Commons - Outside Blind Fish window near ice comet rod (0, -795, -70);
(9) North Felwithe - at the edge of the fishing pond (-110, -790, -50);
(10) West Freeport - In the pool near the Arcstone portal (-150, -845, -233).

Take the 10 coins and combine them in the coin pouch to get a Coin of Tash.

Next, go visit Tarn Visilin in the Highpass Keep library at +75, -220.

You say, 'Hail, Tarn Visilin'

Tarn Visilin says 'Hello. I am Tarn Visilin.'

Give him the Coin of Tash.

Tarn Visilin says 'The Coin of Tash! Very good. I have laid a basic enchantment on it - to get it further enchanted you must take the coin to Mizr N'Mar in the Library of Neriak.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Glowing Coin of Tash. Go to Mizr N`Mar in the library in Neriak 3rd Gate at +915, -1315, -67. and give him the coin of Tash.

Mizr N`Mar says 'Ah - the Coin of Tash - and already enchanted by..? Tarn? Very good! I have enchanted it further - you must now take the coin to Raine Beteria in the Library of Erudin to get the final enchantment.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Gleaming Coin of Tash. Go to Raine Beteria in Erudin at -1050, -210, +68, and give her the coin.

You gain experience!!

You receive a Radiant Coin of Tash. Take this back to Romar.

Romar Sunto says 'The Coin of Tash - fully enchanted! I am in your debt. Here is the scroll of Tashania that was promised to you.'

Pouch
# May 12 2001 at 1:30 PM Rating: Default
I have found all of the coins. I went to Romar to get the pouch, but I only had one slot open. For 50pp he gave me the book, but no pouch. I tried several times to hail him and get the pouch, but was unsuccessful.

Is there a specific phrase you must say to him?

Thanks for you help

Just finished this quest.
Only trouble I had was finding the coin in Grobb.
I realized after alot of searching that in Troll form I was too big to go under the water where the coin is, so I went back to my gnome form and invised and found it.
Lore item?
# Apr 03 2001 at 5:21 AM Rating: Default
The coins are lore item, but i have 2 coins from Felwithe. I used identify and one coin is caza and the other one dena.

If someone have all coins, please post the identified names. Maybe you donĀ“t need to go to all cities.
All components No Drop

Just to warn you all. Although the spoilers mention that the Scroll itself is No Drop, all the coins involved (including the coin of tash) are also No Drop, so you really have to do ALL of the quest personally.
Enchanters not for newbies!
# Mar 03 2001 at 6:43 AM Rating: Default
Enchanters can get around any faction problem, almost. Any real opposites will be kos, and did you ever try to cast benevolence on a kos Iskar crusader? To make your life easier be agnostic, and be careful about whos faction your messing up. My chanter is my main, lvl 31, but I remember the day, "hey lets kill inkie guards". I am kos with DE's, doesn't matter what I do.
My Religion is Tunaire.... cna i do this quest or am I screw
# Feb 10 2001 at 11:49 PM Rating: Decent
I have heard that is is impossible to do this quest if you choose a good god becuae you are KoS in Neriak. I don't beleive that Verant would make such an important spell impossible to recieve for many of the enchanters in the game. If someone who worships Tunaire, or any similar good gods has found a way to compelte this quest I would love to hear it. If it indeed is impossible I am going to have to resatrt my character. So please, if someone has completed this quest, please post here how you did it. thank you.

You are basicly screwed.

You are KoS in Neriak. If your invis breaks you are toasted like bread 3 cm from a nuclear device. (the merchants ARE on the neriak merchants faction NOT beta neutral I am a DE I _KNOW_ it. As I did quests to rasie my merchant faction and guess what?? They got more amiable to me. And I had done NOTHING to my Beta Neutral faction.) The merchants won't START a fight, but they WILL assist. So if you see a guard and he sees you... think CR. (corpse recovery)

If you had been SMART you could have taken agnostic, then got DE illusion, then got to Lokar To'biath, given him alliance, given him a TON of red wine, and gotten DreadGuard Outer, DreadGuard Inner, and Neriak Merchants all up. Then you would just have to avoid (which is easy to do) the guild aligned NPC's and you would have been able to walk the streets in natural uninvis form.

I tried to do the same as a DE agnostic for Kelthin and Felwithe. No such luck. Certain guards won't gain faction with me unless I already have good faction. And doing so gives me ROTTEN faction in Neriak. So I avoid Kelthin for the double reason of 1) I hate heights, especially falling from them and 2) If my illusion fades as I carry out a transaction I am burnt toast. And I avoid Felwithe because Captian What's-his-bum is nearly as powerful as Corporal Lancot over in Qeynos.

It's not _impossible_ but it's not going to be a walk in the park. It's your standard "dear <insert silly choice of god or race here> if either of my spells drops I am looking at a <insert insane amount of time here> Corpse Recovery"

Oh and for the guys talking about the coin spawn time and place and visibility in Erudin. It's the same as all the other ones I have seen. It respawns much faster then the previous post said. (more like 20 minutes to an hour) It is nearly ALWAYS there. (how many new erudites or visitors to erudin do you figure there are in a day? 20? 40?) And it's as visible as anything else. This talk of "well I couldn't see it but I could pick it up" ... What bunk... How many times have you tried to pick up stuff you could see and missed it? Now we are supposed to believe this guys saying "i couldn't see it but I picked it up, must be an invisible object".... Whatever...

Yes, you can do this quest
# Mar 04 2001 at 2:55 AM Rating: Default
First off, the quest npc in Neriak you need to give the coin to is on beta neutral faction. Second off, you can still do the wine quest to stop being kos in Neriak (Although he is two feet from the tash quest guy, so if that's all you need to go to Neriak for, don't bother with the wine quest).

I have taken two paladins into the Neriak library to do the wine quest. One of them worships Tunare, the other worships Mith Marr. They are both warmly to the dark elf guards now (as am I in High Elf form). Now do and do the quest and stop whining about not having the faction. :)
RE: Yes, you can do this quest
# May 27 2001 at 1:23 AM Rating: Default
You are right that the people in the library (Other than the wine quest fellow) are on a seperate faction. The majority of DE merchants will not sell to me, but the people in the Library, other than him, are indiff.
However your 2 palys is a load of crud.
As a Human Warrior follower of Inny who has lowered his faction killing Ratraz for cash in the Maidens fancy I can tell you,

a) You will not be given this quest or any reward includeing faction for it if you are worse than Apprehensive to the guy to begin with.
b) The only other way to raise faction with him is the lightstone quest with the female DE merchants in SoRo. Who are on the same faction and if you cant do the wine quest they wont let you do thiers either,
c) The Wine Quest raises "Dreadgaurdinner/outer" and "The dark bargainers" It has ABSOLUTELY NO effect on the INDIGO BROTHERHOOD who are the guards.

RE: Telling us what the wine quest is would help
# Mar 21 2001 at 5:29 PM Rating: Good
The wine quest is a section of Book of Turmoil quest. If you give a bottle of red wine to Lokar To' Biath your faction goes up with the Dark Bargainers and the Dread Inner Guard and Dread Outer Guard. You could run through the quest up to the point where you get the book, but you're playing with fire as it requires you to run back and forth between the library in 3rd Gate and the Blind Fish in Commons near the bank. But you get several faction hits with each part you complete and no negative adjustments until you kill Lokar then it goes down with the Dark Bargainers. However, when you turn in his head, you get another faction boost as well as the Book of Turmoil. Its a nifty quest I ran my DE wizard through when he was 12th level and he cons warmly to the merchants in Neriak now.
Another possibility is to turn in lightstones and greater lightstones to Smith Tv' ysa at the dark elf camp in South Ro. (co-ords approx. 100 499) You get a concordance of research for each greater lightstone and one of two research books for casters for regular lightstones and faction boosts for the Dark Bargainers and Dread Inner Guard and Dread Outer Guard. My wood elf ranger conned dubiously to her at the onset but she accepted the lightstone and I got the faction adjustment on experimentation. This is also a quest that gives nice experience for each lightstone submitted until about level 14 then its just faction adjustments.

I have done the Stein of Moggok quest twice now, after selling my first for 20th level spells, and have checked the pool outside the guildes each time with no luck. Is it hiding up on the center rocks or something? The pool isn't deep enough to swim in and i don't see any bag sticking out of the water. Thanks all

Well sometimes it is there, and sometimes it is not. I have been there at least 3 times and looked carefully in the fountain. Was not there.
Wait 30 min. Did not spawn.
RE: Erudin's coin
# Jan 05 2001 at 8:35 AM Rating: Default
I suspect that because the coin is in a well traveled place, it is often picked up out of curiosity. It also has a several hour respawn time. My advice is to wait until very late at night or very early in the morning to check on the coin.
RE: Erudin's coin
# Jan 11 2001 at 8:24 PM Rating: Decent
its always been there for me. oh well. its in the foutain by the mage guild not down at the shops. (alot of people dont make erudites for some reason)
RE: Erudin's coin
# Jan 29 2001 at 7:38 PM Rating: Default
Ok. Finally solved the enigma. The coin in Erudin Palace fountain in there, but for some reason, not all player can see it. I can't. So i went to the "supposed" location of the coin: + 725, +755, +36 and clicked a few time without seeing anything. Got it finally after approximately 10 try. So it is not because you dont see it that it is not there.... Strange anyway.
RE: Erudin's coin
# Oct 30 2004 at 5:47 PM Rating: Decent
The other coins (ie Gukta and Halas for sure) spawn in about thirty seconds. I don't see why the Erudin coin is any different, but I do not know for sure. Perhaps the reason you cannot see it is because of the under/over water surface camera differences. Trying to be a gnome (while invis if necessary, it won't drop when you grab a ground spawn) might help you get your noggin underwater while in a shallow pond.
Illusion DE; religion
# Nov 24 2000 at 3:54 AM Rating: Default
As for Illusion DE, it is indeed level 12, anyone who said they used it at level 8 is incorrect. I have been in the Neriak library at level 8 (to buy Enchant Silver) as a human who worships Erollisi Marr. The only problem was staying invis long enough to get there, everyone in the library is Beta Neutral and doesn't care who you are.
And on that note, I always choose a religion appropriate to my persona, damn what the sites say is "best" for enchanters. Of course the god[dess] you worship affects who likes you, but with illusions and faction spells there's still almost nothing we can't do.

I chose Erollisi Marr (I think) and I went to see Mizr Nmar at level 8 using Illusion Dark Elf. Had to invis to get to him and dropped invis when I was inside the library. Everything went fine. I was doing a different quest at the time and I need to go back once I start this quest. I just hope I can get the coins from the evil cities without dying. I hate dying so much, I may not bother to do the quest. How the *beep* can someone tell your religion by looking at you? Puhhleeeze. Damn the vision.
RE: Mintil
# Nov 20 2000 at 10:26 AM Rating: Default
I was under the impression Illusion Dark Elf was a level 12 spell... yet you say you used it at level 8. Is there a misprint in my spell list? I'm level 9, and I'll go buy it this second if it's an option, since a lack of this illusion is the only thing keeping me from completing the Stein of Moggok quest at the moment.

Alliance?
# Oct 12 2000 at 4:47 PM Rating: Default
Has anyone tried using Alliance instead of Benevolance (assuming of course you are under lvl 20)? Also does the 10 slot pouch come for free with the quest or with the book that you have to buy for 50gp?
Thanks!
Re: Coin of tash
# Oct 01 2000 at 1:42 PM Rating: Default
Bah, religion doesn't make any difference once you're in the Neriak library. I chose Erollisi Marr as my diety, before I knew any better, and the only problem I have with it is staying invis to the Dark Elven guards in Neriak long enough to get to the library. Once you're in there, there are no guards to worry about. You're totally safe under dark elf illusion. Being a level 40 enchanter, it's not like the guards outside are a problem either.

Unfortunately, you're out of luck. This is why all the sites tell those considering an Enchanter to be Agnostic. Even with an illusion, NPC's can still tell who you worship. I actually re-started my enchanter at 5th level when a friend told me about this. It was well worth it.
RE: Enchanter religion
# Dec 21 2000 at 2:04 AM Rating: Good
Wussie!!!!

Invisibilty is there for a reason, benevelence is there for a reason, the spell is for level 44, if by then you haven't figured out how to sneak around cities without being killed then by all means....cop out and restart your enchanter.

For the record: I am a dark elf enchantress; I worship Innoruuk; I did not place a single point into charisma and put way too many into agility; yet, I'm level 26 and I'm continuing with this character until the day I reach level 60.

If you could end your life and make yourself better in areas that you perceived to be mediocre or worse, then your life would be perfect with no speed bumps AT ALL in that life you chose to have instead. Well, you can't do it real life and I'm not going to use my mistakes to erase my first character because I have to work harder to survive in Norrath!!! THAT is a cop-out in my opinion.

Well, we will see how you feel about it when you actually do the quest and have that invis runout on you in the middle of Kaladim
RE: Enchanter religion
# Jan 30 2001 at 6:02 PM Rating: Default
I must agree with Kelilye on this. If you don't know how to work your illusions, benevolence and invis by level 20 then you need to stop playing an enchanter. I'm a high elf enchanter who worships Tunare and I can walk around Oggok, as long as I have an illusion on. I'll admit, playing a DE is much harder, more people don't like you but if she can make it to 26 then *CHEER* she needs to be commended. And walking through a city without an illusion just takes some faction too. Kill a few orcs here (for Kaladim and Kelethin), a couple lizards there (for Oggok), throw in some frogloks, kobolds and gnolls (Grobb, Erudin, Halas and Qeynos) and you've got good faction. Throw an illusion on top of that and you're fine. This quest is meant for a lvl 44 all though anyone can brave it. By lvl 44 you've either killed enough stuff to bring youre faction to at least dubious or you're high enough to keep anything from attacking you (ie some guards and merchants)
If you want to insult someone by implying they can't play an enchanter or if you want to just quit right where you are, I'd suggest either starting a different character or dealing without this much needed Tashnia spell.

Funny, I worship Erollisi Marr and I am KOS to ALL Dark Elves no matter what I do. This means that I am unable to do the quest because I cannot speak with Mizr N'Mar in Neriak. I wonder why people are complaining about this quest. I rather enjoy playing religions but if they are going to ***** us because we chose one then they mine as well not even give us any other option. Any of you that think you are toughing it out, wait until you are a higher level and try to get this spell. All I say is good luck. I hope you find a way

Well, to everyone that thinks they can't do this quest, all I can say is "WRONG". I am a 45th lvl DE enchantress that serves Innoruuk. I have never had any problems using illusions, benevolence, and invis to get whatever I want. Learn your character and what they can do. I am, and always will be kos in all of GFay. Guess what? I LIKE it that way. I chose to be a DE for a reason, and I wouldn't change my race or religion for anything. It has made me a better enchantress for the trouble. Go with what your heart says, not what the books and sites say!

Well this quest sucks for any enchanter who accidently chose a religion, I am a 39 enchanter on Mith Marr, and i worship Rodcet Nife and basically perma-KOS in Neriak, Miz'N'Mar would try to kill me....
RE: Coin of tash
# Sep 15 2000 at 3:13 PM Rating: Default
Are you whining? You sound like you are whining. Don't whine. It doesn't become an enchanter. So you worship Rodcet Nife. Is that the end of the world? No. Miz is on the Beta Neutral Faction, so he doesn't care who you worship. Now, I don't know if the other merchants are close enough or angry enough to attack someone in the room, but you can go in and take a chance. Maybe I'm just jaded, but from having played an erudite Necro in Qeynos and a DE Enchanter all over, I just accept being KOS when I can't do anything about it, and change it when I can.
RE: Coin of tash
# Jan 23 2001 at 5:30 AM Rating: Default
I had to deal with Miz to get a rune for the incandescent mask quest. I am ultra-KOS in Neriak because I killed guards in Nektulos around level 20. None of the merchants will attack you; in fact, I don't think any merchants attack in the game. What's more, you don't even have to uninvis to hand him the item. However, I accidentally uninvised while in the library and nothing attacked me. I was able to gate out. Don't worry, get that spell. =)
Grobb, Oggok, Halas coins

Grobb: in front of the bar in the water, as you look at the bar from the entrance, it's on the right.

Oggok: In the water surrounding the warrior guild, had to swim around till I found it.

Halas: Where the raft lets you off going into Halas, it's to the left in the water on a ledge.

Greetings. I have a question for those that have done the quest. Where in Oggok, Halas and Grobb are the coins? I have visited each of the other seven with my main character and checked out the locations. (I have too much stuff in my bank vault right now to spare a full backpack with junk I don't need till level 43.) But I have NEVER seen the Oggok coin (and I am BOUND there) and my efforts at "create a newbie troll and barbarian" to locate those have failed, by the way Barbarians are FREAKING blind and trolls aren't much better) So if someone has a clearer description of where those three coins are they would have my undying gratatude.

The coin in Oggok is in the big pond. You must jump in and swim around and look. Its there, for I have it. It took a while but I found it on the bottom. In Grobb, the coin is located between the Warriors Guild and the merchant(selling alcohol and bags). There are 2 little pools of water there and it is in one of them. Presently, I am of 12 seasons and I have acquired 8 of the ten coins necessary for this Quest. Last on my list are Halas and Erudin. I used invis while getting most of these coins, since I am a Dark Elf and with Innoruuk as my God. The dwarves will attack if under illusion or at least they did me. Good Luck..

This was easy at 21. I could have done it at 16 I believe. I was kind of expecting some noticeable xp, since the quest is for a lvl 44 spell, but no luck there. Now I just know that I won't have to do this long quest at a later time. I did this one along with the Stein of Moggok quest again because I made 250pp and went to the same cities. ( Erudin Qeynos and Oggok )

The quest is for a superior spell which makes our job a whole bunch easier, and you expect there to be mindless blood, guts and/or violence, so you can get a fraction experience? Get over it people, it's an amazing spell, easy quest (what enchanter doesn't use illusions?) and makes you even more helpful in lowering resists of creatures. As for the 'time sink technology'- Do it when you're tired of thinking this is Quake, and need a break from constantly killing everything that moves.

BRAVO ARANOC!! Well spoken! I couldn't agree more. If you a player who wants to just kill things to get something accomplished, there is another game call Diablo you should be playing instead.

This is an example of the reason that so few people DO the quests in Everquest. Reasonably easy to do, but unless you have a wizard or druid at your beck and call, you will end up spending at least 4-6 hours doing this quest, just for the priviledge of getting one of your spells. No cash, no experience.
Actually not true, I got experience messages four times. But the xp meter moved not a pixel, and I did this at lvl 23, so I assume it may actually degrade your xp at lvl 44.
A classic example of Verant's Time Sink Technology.
Exp in conjuction with this quest

Can do this quest at any level...

You can actually do this quest at any level, its just that it doesn't benefit you until you hit 44th level and can scribe the Tashani scroll into your spellbook. I would recommend any young enchanter who is in one of the cities with the silver coins to seek it out and store the coin... it saves you the time of going to find it some other day. Also, if you make the trip into Neriak (as a non-dark-elf enchanter) to get your enchant metal spells then be sure to pick up the coin at that time :)
