After completing the first quest, Hierophant Oxyn sends you on a two part quest. The first part is to get two Cleansers of the Outland skulls and return them to him along with your Iron Cudgel of the Clairvoyant. He says when you have done this he will tell you where to get the next two skulls.

Skull with I is found on a stuffed giant barracuda in Lake of Ill Omen. In Warsliks Woods, a Rogue Shaman Spawns. He drops a Jawless Skull and a note. The note tells you about the barracuda. You need to go to Field of Bones and kill another rogue shaman to get the Mandible. The note also says that you can buy Mendglow Clay in Cabilis, but nobody can find a place that sells it. It can however be foraged in the Burning Woods by a master forager (with much effort). Take your Jawless Skull, Mandible and Mendglow clay and combine them on a potters wheel (make sure you have a decent pottery skill). Do NOT add water. The combination will result in Skull with II.

Turn Skull with I and Skull with II along with your cudgel of the Clairvoyant to Oxyn and get some xp, coin and an Iron Cudgel of the Seer (4/21). When you finish this, Hierophant Oxyn says, 'We are in your debt. You are truly one who shall collect all the lost ancient skulls. Take your weapon. Go to Hierophant Zand and he shall guide you further. Tell him you are [the chosen saviour.]

After completing the previous quest Hierophant Oxyn says the following line:

'Excellent! You have proven yourself worthy to wield the iron cudgel of the clairvoyant. As a clairvoyant, I feel I can trust you, so I will tell you that the issue of the missing skulls is a [much larger problem] than last stated.'

You say, 'Much larger problem?'

Hierophant Oxyn says, 'Many of the ancient skulls have been cast out of our temple. A hierophant was supposed to cast a special spell which was to protect the skulls from dust and decay. He cast some unknown spell which has sent many of our skulls to their original point of death. It would be most helpful if you would [assist in collecting the ancient skulls].'

You say, 'I will assist in collecting the ancient skulls.'

Hierophant Oxyn seems unsure of your prowess. 'Hmmm. First you shall go after the two skulls of the Cleansers of the Outlands. If you find them, bring them back unbroken and then I shall trust you. Hand me both skulls and your iron cudgel of the clairvoyant and I will know you are prepared.'

To obtain the first skull head out to Warsliks Wood and find a rogue shaman located at 2766, -3419. To reach this location quickly go through the Field of Bone entrance. Kill him and he will drop a Jawless Skull and a Tattered Note which reads the following:

"Shaman, I have sent another of your ilk to retrieve the mandible which was taken from us. He will meet up with you at Bone Ruin around midnight. When you have them, find a way to get some Mendglow Clay and a wheel from Cabilis so we can mend this skull. I am enroute to find the Giant Barracuda who swallowed the other skull at the lake."

Now you must find the other rogue shaman who is located in the Field of Bone. He doesn't seem to have a set placeholder, but can be spawned by killing monsters around the area between Kurn's Tower and Kaesora. Once you kill him you will obtain a mandible which you can combine in a pottery wheel along with the Jawless Skull and Mendglow Clay (foraged in Burning Woods) to create Skull with II (Pottery, 51 trivial).

To get the last skull you must find the giant barracuda mentioned in the letter, which is actually a stuffed barracuda located around the center of Lake of Ill Omen. will drop a Skull with I.

After obtaining both skulls, run back to Hierophant Oxyn in East Cabilis and turn in the skulls along with your Iron Cudgel of the Clairvoyant.
Hierophant Oxyn says 'We are in your debt, _______. You are truly the one who shall collect all lost ancient skulls. Take your weapon. Go to Hierophant Zand and he shall guide you further. Tell him you are [the chosen savior].'

You have gained experience.
Your faction standing with Scaled Mystics got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got better.
You receive 1 copper from Hierophant Oxyn
You receive 1 silver from Hierophant Oxyn
You receive 1 platinum from Hierophant Oxyn
And your Iron Cudgel of the Seer

Seer stats?

Are there any other special stats (lore, no drop.. etc) with the Iron Cudgel of the seer. Specifically, is it magical?
Rogue Shaman?

Where or How do u get the Rogue Shaman in the Field of Bones to spawn?
RE: Rogue Shaman?
# Feb 16 2001 at 4:48 PM Rating: Decent
I don't know HOW you get him to spawn, but I do know where I've seen him more than once. The only place that I've seen him actually. That's over by Kurn's Tower. Just east of it actually, but close to Kurn's. I could see him each time when standing right next to the tower. He's easy to spot because he's sow'd and as a result moves around quickly. Otherwise he looks just like an Iksar Bandit.

Now where is the Rogue Shaman in WW located? That's the one that I need to locate.

The one in Warsliks is pretty easy to find. Zone into WW from the Field of Bone and head North. It will open up into a clearing with some ruins in it. There are 3 bandits there with a quick spawn time. Just keep killing them, and you should get the rogue shaman pretty quickly. (The spawn point across the "room" from the other two is where he spawns.)

He's absolutely right the rogue shaman does spawn somewhere just east of Kurns and heads North killed him twice yesterday about 6 to 8 hours apart. I only looted him once got the mandible, other time guild-mate looted also got mandible.

Ya know i have been threw all the threads here and i dont see anyone that says that he cleaners of the outland skulls are dropped by anything, so please if anyone knows i would like to know, also do you get your mace back from when you turn it in with the cleanser skulls so you can return it in later with the I and II skulls?

The Skulls are dropped in kurns by skeletons in there you must have them identified to know if they are cleanser skulls.

Whoever said they drop IN kurns, that is wrong. This isn't the quest involving the undead crusader, so please stop trying to fool people who don't know better and go back to doing your bone chip quest for "uber Cabilis merchant faction."

Mendglow Clay
# Aug 05 2000 at 11:34 PM Rating: Decent
I don't know if Verant changed the rate at which Mendglow Clay can be foraged, but my Iksar Necro was in Burning Woods today, and within three hours had foraged six bars of Mendglow Clay.
Cleansers of Outland?

I haven't even found the Cleansers of the Outland skulls. Where are these? Am I to assume correctly I need not to this part, just go ahead and get the other stuff?
Mendglow Clay
# Jul 16 2000 at 11:05 AM Rating: Good
It took me about 4 hours to forage the Mendglow clay in the Burning woods. I had no trouble getting there by going thru the Frontier Mountains using Levitate and Spirit of the Wolf, and camping at the zone entrance to the Burning Woods. I only saw one mob in the Burning Woods, a Sarnak Knight (who was red to me at 17th level) and was very close to the entrance, so be carefule.
Incremental Quests
# Jul 05 2000 at 1:21 PM Rating: Decent
These incremental type quests are becoming more and more common. By this I mean those quests where you need to have done the earlier bits to get the later ones. Personally I like them, they reward people who do the quests all along. The key to doing these though is to do each one at the appropriate level. Hanging around outside Kurns for hours and wiping greens is boring, killing blues and getting xp while waiting for your quest NPC is much better.

All the cudgels I have heard about do seem weak so far unfortunately, however the last ones in the series may be great and Verant may upgrade the current cudgels at some point (they have done this in the past). You don't want to be level 40 and looking at a 'must have' cudgel that you need to complete 6 other quests that will take 10s of hours and get you no xp to get it do you?

RE: Incremental Quests

One note... if you are at all interested in doing these incremental quests, DO NOT get rid of the recurring item, ie cudgel (shaman), shackle (monk), pike (warrior), etc. You can only get the first item by turning in your guild note, and subsequent items by turning in the previously acquired item. If you destroy the item in question, and want to do the quests, you may as well create another character no matter what level you are. I had a 4th level Iksar warrior, and something happened when I was looting his corpse, and I could no longer find his pike... I petitioned a GM and was told that they were sorry, but that there was nothing they could do. Seeing as I wanted to particiate in these quests, I deleted the character and started over.

You can be 60th level, and if somewhere along the line you got rid of your quest item, then you are out in the cold. Nothing will get you the item again. Put the item in your bank if you don't want to use it.

Sorry if I rambled...

Thanks,
Dan

ps - I and a group of 5 others ranging from level 10-15 got SMEARED by 2 manslayers where the rogue shaman spawns in Warslik's Woods. The manslayers are no joke. They resisted everything we cast, and hit for around 35 dmg each time.

There is a ritual of exoneration you can go through to regain your newbie item in cabilis. This ia a new quest that's been added very recently. The information is listed on the website as "The Penance" quest.

Hail the trainers in your guild, one of them will respond with a question like "do you still have your xxx" or "have you lost your xxx". If you give the response indicating you have lost your newbie item, they will hand you a book to take to the toilmaster. The toilmaster will give you a different book to read that explains the ritual of exoneration that you will have to go through to regain your newbie item.

I have successfully completed the ritual of exoneration with an iksar shaman, so can verify that you will get your newbie cudgel back if you go through the process (which is made appropriately tedious and painful).

Make sure you follow the instructions for the ritual exactly, or you may spend several hours on it and find that you've screwed up and have to start over again.

Wow what Server are you on? On Luclin I managed to lose my militia pike while looting my corpse..it just poofed. I petitioned about it and was refered to Leycrow who talked to me for about 5 minutes while he looked up the logs to see if I had it before I looted my body. When he found that I had already done the quest he popped right over and handed me a new melitia pike.

If you did lose your quest item or destroyed it or never got the first one you still have a chance. camp right in front of oxyn. create a new shaman and turn in the guild note, get the cudgel, get the quest from oxyn, give him your cudgel and camp. log back in with your real character and give him the rest of the items. the quest giver will reward the pc that gave him the last item needed. It helps if you have a friend nearby to do watch and ask other pc's to wait for you. if someone else hands in stuff while you are camping you are out of luck. this works with the shaman cudgel and the shadow knights khukri and i would assume it would work with any other situation.

So far the skull quests have been a big disappointment, personally. This quest took me about six levels of on-and-off searching to complete. If you are going to do this quest solo as a Shaman--you will need to be a MINIMUM of 17th level.

As Skusag says each of the rogue shaman are easy kills in and of themselves, and the 'cuda isn't that bad either. However, the shaman in Warslik's spawns in a hut containing both marauders and manslayers, both of which conned blue to me at 19th level. And if you think they will just stand by and let you kill the shaman, think again. Most times you will have to clear all the spawn from the hut before the shaman will spawn. In fact, I had to camp the place for an hour and kill about 9 other outcasts.

The second rogue shaman spawns at midnight (game midnight--keep a finger on your /time hotkey) in the grassy area near Kurn's tower. In this area are also marauders, the occasional manslayer, heartsting scorps, Burynai Excavators and Burrowers (non-casters), scaled wolf stalkers, and greater scalebone skellys. You will have to hunt over a fairly large area out here to find the shaman, and those greater scalebones will attack anything that moves. One of the humorous things about this quest is watching the Iksar Marauders and Manslayers duke it out with scaled wolf stalkers--what's fun is watching the battle then making an easy kill of the winner--one Spirit Strike should just about bring the curtain down on the victor.

But the real pain in the rear of this quest is the mendglow clay. I think this quest is screwed up, because it seems to me that given the level of the spawn yoiu need the clay should probably be forageable in the Swamp of No Hope. Burning Woods is a zone where nothing is below 35th level, and to get there you have to cross the Frontier Mountains, where I think the lowest-level spawn is about 25th. In any case, nothing I saw either place even was close enough to /con yellow at 19th level. And if you are going solo, be prepared for a long foraging session. I foraged for 3 hours and came up with nothing. Then I shouted to the zone and a wood-elf druid nearby said she had foraged 3 blocks of the Mendglow Clay over the course of two days and brought them to me.

As for my pottery skill I didn't take any chances. I boosted my skill until medium bowls were trivial (about 122) and then combined the jawless skull, mandible, and mendglow with no problem. NOTE: DO NOT USE WATER! I learned that talking with another shaman who quit questing altogether because he used water and lost the mandible and clay.

The reward for this is a cheesy 4/21 weapon--it's a slap in the face to anyone who takes the risk and time to complete this quest.

Quick questions --

1, Which hut in Warslik's woods? The one in the NE corner?

2, I encountered the Rogue Shaman NE of Kurns during the day. So either he stuck around or does not always spawn at midnight.

All kinds of extra info...

The baracuda can be found a couple of ways. If you are above lvl 14, levitate out over the lake near the platform in the middle and use sense animal until you target the right one. If you are below 14, stand on a far corner of the platform, cast Sense Animal. If you don't get it, move to another corner. Keep trying til you get him. I think he is level 9 or so, very easy to kill. Stay FAR away from the deepwater baracuda, they are in the 40s I think.

The rogue shaman with the jawless skull is in the Warsliks Woods. Enter from the Field of Bone, and he is usually in the first building surrounded by iksar bandits, manslayers, or marauders. The rogue shaman is only 10ish...it's his buddies you may need help with.

The rogue shaman with the mandible is typically found behind Kurn's tower. That's all I can say is to hang out back there and kill everything you see in case they are placeholders.

The Mendglow Clay is foragable in the Burning Wood...though it took me about an hour. Good time to practice Divination.

You will want a decent pottery skill prior to combining. I succeeded at 60, but I have heard of people failing at 80 (bad luck most likely). Luckily pottery can be brought up to 60 with about 5pp or so.

The fish is called "a stuffed barracuda". You have to dive in before attacking him, since spells are barred between the land/air and the water. I pulled him close to shore before fighting it, with it nipping my heels the whole way.

The two rogue shamans are right where Skusag here says they are.

Traveling to Burning Wood through Frontier Mountains -- the FM zone is dangerous, full of agro giants and burynai furbies. Use SOW and keep your Levitate operating due to the terrible terrain. In the Burning Wood zone, I foraged one Mendglow Clay in 3 hours. While foraging, stay inside the zone tunnel from FM because the zone is agressive. Players 50-55 fight here. You may have better luck asking the zone if anyone there has foraged a spare Mendglow Clay or two.
