Dlammaz Stormslayer says 'Welcome to the castle of King Tormax. It is quite an accomplishment for one of your kind to have lived this long in the service of our great King Tormax. You must be powerful indeed. My power is like a storm - I may rage and destroy my foes with great fury.

You say, 'What foes?'

Dlammaz Stormslayer says 'The dragons are the greatest threat to Kael Drakkel. For some reason they believe that this land we inhabit is holy and should not be tread upon. I cannot count the number of wurms I have beaten back from the gates of Kael Drakkel in the past. We giants will live on, though, for each year their numbers thin and ours only grow. With the help of mercenaries such as yourself we may be able to eradicate them from the face of Velious.

You say, 'Eradicate?'

Dlammaz Stormslayer says 'I dream of the day when the only dragons in Velious are the ones whose skins line my boots. Some day my dream will come true. Until the day I can gather a force powerful enough to assault their homes, I will slay whatever foul beasts tread near Kael Drakkel.

You say, 'Assault their homes?'

Dlammaz Stormslayer says 'That is an aspiration of King Tormax. One day, it may be possible for us to do so. Encountering so many dragons at once may very well be suicide though. Enough of my banter about dragons. What is it that brings you to Dragon Death Keep? Do you seek more challenging tasks?

You say, 'I seek more challenging tasks.'

Dlammaz Stormslayer says 'If you are as mighty as I believe you to be, travel out from this city and fight off the draconian menace. For the head of an elder dragon you will be handsomely rewarded.

You say, 'What reward?'

Dlammaz Stormslayer pats the huge axe at his side and drapes his shimmering cloak over his shoulders.

You say, 'What axe?'

Dlammaz Stormslayer says 'My axe is named Frostbringer. It was given to me by the great King Tormax for my service to him. Serving the king can be quite advantageous.

You say, 'What cloak?'

Dlammaz Stormslayer says 'The cloak of the Maelstrom allows me to rage like a great storm. It is but a simple possession - the head of an elder dragon would be worth far more to my kind.

Dragons in the Western Wastes sometimes drop heads when killed. There are two types: Great and Greater.

A Great Dragon's Head results in the Cloak of the Maelstrom.

A Greater Dragon's Head results in Frostbringer.

This guy is absolutely on King Tormax faction. Really easy to check with the /faction command.

At present, I am Ally with Kromzek
Warmly with Kromrif
Threatening to King Tormax

And this guy cons Threatening. Case closed. No debate, no ambiguity, no "believed to be" on KT faction.

can assume the dain faction hit is -12 also (consistent with other quests). This hand in requires high amiable (100 under kindly), i tested at 170 below kindly and it didn't work, came back with 90 below kindly and it worked.

Glati dropped a Greater Dragon's Head. He was walking a path parallel to the southern hills that surround the zone-in to the Dragon Necropolis.

He also dropped a pair of Peerless Dragonhorn Boots and Glati's Talisman.

Wanted to turn in heads to determine how much faction he gave for dragon heads. I am ally with Kromzek but scowls with Kromrif. He seems to be on Kromrif faction and can see invis. When I got near him he gave his engage message twice for some reason.

I'm kindly zek, and i'm sure i'm kos to Tmax still, and I know i'm kos to kromriff. I was hoping this quest, wasn't on Tmax faction but it looks like it is. looks like its back to the grindstone

Dlammaz Stormslayer is on Tormax faction. I have verified that all you need is HIGH-amiable (not just amiable) to get the quest. To check your faction just ask Dlammaz "what foes". If he tells you to bugger off, you need more faction. The best way to raise Tormax faction is to get a faction hit off Dain when he is killed. However, if you aren't in a guild that can kill Dain, you can kill Coldain dwarves in GD or EW and collect their heads to hand in to Captain Bvellos in Kael. It takes a lot of heads especially if you are KoS to Tormax. At low amiable you still need like 40 Coldain heads before you can do the quest.

Heh does anyone know the PC for frostbringer on Xegony? And also, which one should i buy first, Frostbringer or Wurmslayer cause i only got 1.5k (which i worked hard for =)) and dunno which to spend it on.

If you're bored and have a few people around for some fun, you can also kill Dlammaz for his items.
He hits for max of 500 and rampages often, not unlike PoZs in the arena, but is fairly easy to get to and real fun to split. If you invis by the bank, and move straight up to him, you could get to Dlammaz in 5 kills (2 guards at the door, a pop just inside the door, Gleed Dragonhunter, and a wolf that always seems to agro). Dropped Cloak of the Maelstrom when we killed him.

I was told you CANNOT use faction spells to gain tormaxx faction above amiable, this is FALSE, I did this quest earlier today using my faction spell to bring me to warmly.

Be SURE your faction is adequate to complete this quest. Through my own stupidity and assumption I lost my Greater Dragon's Head in Kael today.

Once you reach Amiable faction (any level of it), the Giant will SPEAK to you but may not allow you to complete the quests.

Case in point:

Woot! My faction must be good, this is an improvement over "Get lost, Dwarf".

Dlammaz Stormslayer says 'Your loyalty to our ideals has yet to be proven.'

Thus I lose my head, literally and figuratively. Make sure they give you the WHOLE quest before turning in an item. High Amiable may be adequate to complete the quests, but it must be HIGH Amiable since I was Amiable before turning in 12 more heads and still got hosed.

OK. there's a lot of misinformation here, so i'm gonna clear things up.

first off, to do the head quests with dlammaz, you only need amiable faction, not kindly. granted, you might have to have very high amiable faction, but the first time i did the quest, i was amiable, and i'm 100% sure on that.

second, here's what you get for what head you turn in:

greater head to dlammaz = frostbringer
greater head to kyenka = barbed pauldons
great head to dlammaz = cloak of maelstrom
great head to kyenka = barbed boots

dlammaz is outside of the tormax building, just past the ice bridge on the left. he's on tormax faction.

kyenka is inside the tormax building about 20 feet away from tormax. he's on either kromriff or kromzek faction.

hope that helps clear any confusion.

we took this guy on the other day and dropped the cloak, kinda tough if your not ready for em has a crap load of hp's and he enrages and all the goodies, was also hitting for upto about 500 or least thats what he got me for at one point...just my 2cp
