I too just looted this item, but it is now Great instead of Greater.

I have a "Great Dragon's Head", as opposed to "Greater".
Stats and icon are the same as above, is it the same item for the same quest?

You'd think the head of anything that large would way much more than half a pound, let alone fit in your average wooden box.
the simple Idea of pickpocketing the headoff of a dragon while its still alive should have made them allow it.. i mean.. Come on!
This head is used to complete the Frostbringer Quest. You have to be amiable or greater when you hand it in.
Ah, figured I should be more specific about these. Any dragon in WW has a chance of dropping a Great or Greater dragon head. Note the Difference in the names.
Greater heads result in frostbringer. The quest giant is Dlammaz Stormslayer. Giving him a Great head results in the cloak of the Maelstorm.

Actually according to the actual quest entry that is linked to both the frostbringer and cloak entries there is a greater dragon head and a LESSER dragon head not a 'great' dragon head. The lesser is for the cloak and greater for the frostbringer. If this is incorrect then maybe you should submit a correction not just post to the forum.
You haven't killed there I'm guessing.

Well, it doesn't do anything until you turn it in to Kael. Then it's good for Barbed Dragonscale armor. I forget which head yeilds the boots and which the arms but the boots are really quite nice. ;)
