This quest was introduced in October 2005 and is available every year around Halloween.

It's one of five tasks required to receive a Bone Mask of Horror (illusion click item).

Old Man Draykey is found in the northwest corner of Kithicor Forest at about 1915, 4535.

You say, 'Hail, Old Man Draykey'.

Old Man Draykey says 'Greetings, _____! Have you [come to participate] in the festivities?''

You say, 'I have come to participate.'

Old Man Draykey says 'Excellent, excellent! For those of you that enjoy trick-or-treating I have set up an event beyond anything you have done before. I will have convinced ten...well beings...not all of them are really people, to help with this. It's a very tricky endeavor, with highly complex [instructions]. Prepare yourself and then I will reveal the secrets to you.'

You say, 'What instructions?'

Old Man Draykey says 'First of all you need to know how to properly speak with these people. Once you find them, you simply need to say 'Trick or treat', and see what they have to say in return. I have compiled a list of my helpers around Norrath and have written them down in my book. As I have said, there are ten people each with a piece of candy you'll need to collect. Once you've collected all ten return to me with the full bag.'

You receive Draykey's Codex, a book of hints as to where to find the mobs, and a Trick-or-Treat Bag (10-slot GIANT container).

The Codex reads:

Search out those that have treats for you. Here is a small list of clues as to where they can be found.

1. Hiding in the bushes of the dead house.
2. The pinnacle of enlightenment.
3. He's not Slate, but he's close.
4. Wanders in a pit in the land of his kind.
5. A short man in an icy land, food can be found in his hands.
6. Lurking in the forest near a feline retreat.
7. He found out the hard way that drinking and swordplay do not mix.
8. Hidden away in the caves of his lair.
9. Toiling in the fields of the gnoll's family.
10. He's fallen down the stairs, but it's been kept under wraps.

The goal of the quest is to /target and say "Trick or treat" to 10 NPCs.

NOTE: Sometimes the NPC will "trick" you and give you something like Coal, Sand, or Pocket Lint. If you receive a "trick" instead of the "treat," you need to zone out and back in again to say "trick or treat" again (and keep doing so until you get a treat).

Crabby the Rotten

Crabby is found in Unrest in either of the hedge mazes.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Crabby the Rotten says 'Gimme gimme gimme. . .You people make me sick! Here's your nasty little treat, now leave me be.'

Receive a Candy Jack-o-Lantern.

Grand Librarian Maelin

Maelin is found in the Plane of Knowledge at the top of the library.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Grand Librarian Maelin says 'Ah, here you go. Fresh from the Sugar Assembalage 2000.'

You receive a Jawbreaker.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Sergeant Ragus

Ragus wanders along and the path in the Commonlands.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Sergeant Ragus says 'Hah! Here's the tastiest treat of them all! Enjoy!'

You receive a Rock Candy.

Immug Lashtail

This is a named iksar skeleton wandering the pit of the Field of Bone.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Immug Lashtail says 'Why is it that you people keep pestering me for these? Here's your treat, now tell everyone else they can find me off under the ocean or some nonsense.'

You receive Gummie Kobolds.

Nilham the Chef

In Iceclad Ocean, Nilham sits inside igloo in the gnome village.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Nilham the Chef says 'Can ya believe the Cap'n thought these were real when I first started handing them out? Hah! At least he did until they melted in his pocket!'

You receive a Chocolate Coin.

Fuzz

Fuzz stands on the beach/west wall of Toxxulia Forest -- on the same side as the entrance to Kerra Isle.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Fuzz Selppa says 'Careful with these, or they'll get stuck in your teeth!'

You receive Carmel Apples.

Nate

Nate stands in back of the graveyard of Castle Mistmoore.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Nate says 'Well, it's not ale but you'll just have to deal with that. . .By the by did you happen to bring any ale with you?'

You receive Fairy Fizzles.

Poil Lolp

Poil Lolp can be found in any cave, standing still in Netherbian Lair.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Poil Lolp says 'Brave of you to have come back into the dark cave. Braver still if you try this treat. . .'

You receive a Lollipop (note the anagram!).

Scary Miller

Scary Miller wanders the field of the Miller family farm in West Karana.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Scary Miller says 'Here's something from one of our more unusual crops, see what you think.'

You receive Candy Corn.

Wraps McGee

Wraps is in a locked room on the bottom floor of Befallen. Kill "a shadowknight" to get the key.

You say, 'Trick or treat.'

Wraps McGee says 'Here I'll just wrap this up for you. . . Get it? Hahaha!'

You receive a Tasty Candy.

Combine all ten treats in the bag to get a Full Trick-or-Treat Bag and take it to Old Man Draykey.

Old Man Draykey says 'Ah ha! You've found them all! Excellent work, here's a bit of candy for you and something else as well. Enjoy!'

Reward:

1x "Bristlebane's Ticket of Admission"
5x snack food

Old Man Draykey is one of four NPCs that Zigan Ribshard in the Plane of Knowledge hints about (he is the goblin near the Field of Bone portal). For each of their tasks, you are given a ticket of admission. You hand these tickets to the "puppet" NPC in Kithicor to receive a monster mission.

Haloween event quest begins with Zigan Ribshard in PoK, near Cablis stone (-640,+180).

You say, 'Hail Zigan Ribshard'

Zigan Ribshard says, 'Another sad little adventurer looking for a new conquest eh? Well I've got something for you but you'll need to check in with a few [friends] of mine first.'

You say, 'what friends'

Zigan Ribshard says, 'They've all gone and holed themselves up in some bloody forest. There's five of them in all. One is a wannabe necromancer, spends all day tinkering with bones he does. The next is just some daft old man. I don't know how I got mixed up with him. Another is a fool with delusions of being a grand entertainer telling stories all day long. And then there's the [halflings]...'

You say, 'what halflings'

Zigan Ribshard says 'There's Mippie to start. She's the type that doesn't know when to stop. I met up with her at a fantastic party in the Freeport catacombs. She'd put someone like you under the table without much trouble I'd wager. The other one is just...Well odd. Last I saw he was trying to convince people he was a vampire or some such. I can't imagine anyone feeling threatened by a blood-sucking helfling. Anyways, once you've dealt with them come see me again, and remember to bring a costume!'

Go to Kithicor Forest, and seek out his 5 friends.

1.Mippie Diggs - at RV zoneline in Kithicor(+1955, +3812)
2.Barsin, the Bone Collector - at the lake in the S.East (-105, +09)
3.a Dressed-up Halfling - near the merchants' house at WC zoneline (+1085, -565)
4.Old Man Draykey - N.West corner of zone (+1917, +4537)
5.Cathil & a silly puppet - in front of a house at(+1240, +1065)

Each has a task to perform and completing them properly gives you an invisable flag. Only Mippie's Hungry Halfling quest will appear in the Quest History tab of the Quest Journal upon completion, but all 5 of the completion flags are needed to properly complete the Haloween event and collect the final reward from Zigan Ribshard.

Upon completion of the 5 quests, return to Zigan Ribshard in the racial illusion given to you by Mippie.

You say, 'Hail Zigan Ribshard'

Zigan Ribshard says, 'Hah! That's a good costume there ______! I almost didn't recognize you. Well you have done all I asked, I don't know how you managed to stand all my friends, but here you go. This mask is one of my finer creations. Use it well and go scare some rotten elf kid.

do u get the mask from the MM, or when u hand in the tickets or how does that work?
RE: question
# Nov 04 2005 at 11:11 AM Rating: Decent
You get the mask after you complete the MM, Trick or Treat Quest, Pumpkin treats quest, Vampire task, and Bonecollector task. At this point you go back to PoK, put an illusion on yourself (you get a 5 dose illusion potion as one of the rewards from these quests/tasks), and hail Zigan Ribshard for your mask and a candy reward. This sounds like a lot of work, but it is actually easier than it sounds, and can easily be done within two days or less.

And just what level do you have to be to achieve this "final reward". Certainly not less than your uper 50's as you gotta go to WoS. I agree this is the Woest Crappy Holloween Festivity that SoE came up with. Yet again it serves only the high end player. No I have not found any write ups on this other than here and no, I dont know exactly what all 5 entail , just know that it possibly cannot be for Low end players, unless you have some pretty good high end friends willing to carry you thru it... Thanks again SoE.

Hardrok,

to recieve the end reward stats for mask you must be at least 66(confirmed)
I would assume 65 would also recieve the end reward with full stats but I cannot yet confirm this .

AT 62 a friend recieved a lesser version of the mask ( 35?hp lesser type stats)with a similar yet different name for mask.

I can only assume that the mask rewards are scaled
66-70
60-65
40-59
or something very similar.Hope this helps some.
Best to /ooc for lvls of people that have completed and ask which mask they recieved and at what lvl to help track down the lvl cut offs.

From what I head who has done it as a full group of level 70, they did not have to go to WoS. In their case, it was Plane of Hate, Seb, and Dragon Necropolice. This was on Emarr server.

You don't have to go to WoS. The grp tasks given are by average grp level. So you might have to go to WoS or to one of the lower level zones.

Yes, the quests are scaled based on level. I think you probably need to be level 30 minimum or so to do it. While level 70s will probably need to go to WoS, lower levels will go to someplace more appropriate for their level. In my opinion, this is one of the best special events, Halloween or otherwise, that Sony has done.

Ok I will keep an open mind about this...However I would like to know the minimum level to do this AND if it is 30 then why did SoE leave out those from 1 TO 29... It seems they dont count, not to SoE.

this quest does scale down, cuz many people use shrouds so they dont have to go to wos/poh instead they get sent to befallen, mistmoore, unreest, and kurns~! so since you can shroud to avoid going to the big places that means that you can easily do it at the level the people are shrouding to. (usually lvl 20ish from the write ups i've seen) so its not meant for the extremely low end but again then neither was kiling hordes of werewolves.

So you must collect all 5 tickets before you can "attend" the event mm ?

Or will just the one ticket "Get you in" ?

And any /loc atm of the "puppet guy" ?

Can you reuse your ticket or does the puppet guy eat it and you can only do the event mm one time. Forcing you to do the quest again to get another ticket.

Then I was helping some friends with the event and looked for about half an hour till I found him near the inn that the griffen MM takes place at.

i take that back, at the lower levels you only need those. for the higher level it seems you need OoW too.

MAGIC ITEM NO TRADE
STR: +10 DEX: +5 STA: +5 WIS: +10 INT: +10 HP: +35 MANA: +35 ENDUR: +35
SV MAGIC: +5
This is a snack!
WT: 0.0 Size: TINY
Class: ALL
Race: ALL

Just a word of warning, at the time of this post the duration on this food is 0 according to lucy, so it might be better to save this as a trophy rather than using it (unless SOE changes the duration).

Scary Miller of West Karana gives you Candy Corn, not Rock Candy.

Sergeant Ragus of East Commons gives you Rock Candy not Stone Candy.

Immug Lashtail of The Field of Bone gives you Gummie Kobolds.

FOB NPC Name

The name of the skeleton NPC roaming the pit in Field of Bone is "Immug Lashtail". His dialogue is "Why is it that you people keep pestering me for these? Here's your treat, now tell everyone else they can find me off under the ocean or some nonsense"...
