Got mine, along with Rodrick's Head, and the Dirk of the Traitor, off Rodrick who is found in that little enclosure outside the Orc Fort. Stands there with the Orc Emissary.
If you put this on, click to get berserker strength, can you take it off (unequip) and still keep the effect? Is is the same for the giant frost beards too with their effect.
Bongger Puffpuffpass - Iksar Necromancer 37th year
This is not a proc item......you right click it and it will automatticly work.....you get 5 charges it takes away from the agility and adds to the strength.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spell cast on you: Your muscles bulge with berserker strength. Spell cast on someone: Soandso's muscles bulge with berserker strength. Spell fades: You feel your agility return.
just because somthing is right clickable, dosn't mean that it will work for every lvl. my warrior has a silvery mask, dosn't proc for him at 22, but procs for lvl 26 friend
Ummmm dude mana is free.. Don't be stingy..I buff for Freel all the time.. I have found that friends are easy to come by that way...You must be one of thoes that sits around and shoute SOW' s and buffs for donations.. I love going over and just buffin for free when I see thoes.
Mana is only free if you when you have more than enough ) Otherwise you're paying Verant and precious minutes from your leisure time to make more. I also buff quite freely (often without being asked) when I have mana to burn, but I also say no to buff beggars when I don't. I try not to be rude, but there are times when "free" buffs are very much not free to casters -- especially the lowbie casters. Why should they sit on the sideline medding while other peeps get to run off and earn xp with those buffs? For buffs that consume a high percentage of one's mana -- whatever the level -- I think it's totally appropriate to donate.
Tobaen Windcaller Ranger of the 42nd fletch
Ikkiku Jones Shammie of the 23rd round of free SOW for everyone!
Mana may be free, but nothing else in the game is :( Spells cost plat, items cost plat and I'm not in a guild (I was, but I decided that it wasn't mutually beneficial so I left). There is nothing wrong with asking for donations for helping other players out with buffs. I give away buffs as well ALL the time, but if I'm low on plat it's either be stingy with my mana and use it only for my hunting or ask for donations (meaning I'll take anything that is given to me).
Just my 2cp
Uuvien Windracer 31st Season Druid of Tunare The Rathe
Personally, I have a 26 CLR and I find it quite annoying when someone asks for full buffs and gives me nothing in return. My time is not free, while my mana usually is. Some of my buffs, as with alot of buffs, take a regent.
Same applies when I do a rezz. It's nice for someone to offer a donation - after all, I might only have 20%, but it's 20% more than you would have gained if your corpse had rotted or been looted.
Have some consideration, but don't force it. Some people like donations, others don't care - make that call as it happens. There's no real right answer - just a whole bunch of wrong ones.
as a 32 cleric, unless im in a group making some cash or I am specifically asked nicely / donated. Lazy enough we dont bow or thank in real life, but i want a thank you from their toon. I dont drop the symbol. Its all about how i feel, and the feeling i get from em. It does get quite expensive.
Then... We are talking about a game, where I log on my druid, I get a tell from NO WHERE because i am NOT anon. The guy says he has not played in a year o this toon and does not know where he is. We figure out he is in Overthere and has NO way back. He begs and begs for a ride. I come to get him. He hardly speaks to me, no pleases or thank you's. take him on his way. He does not even thank me. I stop what I am doing, come to now man's land, port him out and even sow him. The guy did not even thank me. I said something, basically how rude it was for him to say nothing. His reply... was 'he was in a hurry to meet up with friends' DUH! arn't we all 'in a hurry' if we are begging the non-anon druids for ports? WTF? His 'hurry' would have been a crawl swimming around without sow for a zone.
Its just simple manors.
1. Offered free buffs, I donate moderately, if they say more then 2 words to me, even donate more. 2. If they ask me for a buff, I give the basics, if they stay and talk to me, hell, sometimes I will follow them about or be within shouting distance for them. I mean if they make my gaming time more fun, im more then happy. 3. If they demand I dont. Period. if they dont speak to me or thank me or even interact, or for that matter they speak english... but dont even form a sentance to ask me in a sentance. ***** that
its all attitude. I mean. Especially if they are kind. Or even if they rollplay. Like if they stand on a road, and the are a bandit robbing me for sow... Id play along. :) but how would he catch me?
since the codain are about the same lvl as the giants in GD, and woven frost giant beards are usable at 45, I would guess that these become useable at 45 too. Just my 2cp
These drop off of the coldain dorfs or lesser tar goos...5 charges of berserker strength which adds strength and takes agi...and gives approx 60 dmg invul shield...it is NOT unlimited charges like the previous post states...seems to be more rare than the giant beards but thats just from what ive found
I'm wondering if people are waiting for this thing to just go off. It has charges, meaning it's right-clickable. I'm saving the charges on mine so I'm not going to just click it to see if it works, but in case people are waiting for an effect like a Velium weapon or a Smoldering Brand it doesn't work like that.
This is not a bad item at all, replaced a sheer bone mask with it after a paladin gave to to me. Probably not gonna keep it too long though. Waiting to get a Mask of Decpetion and see how I look as an inkie. Well anyway, got it at 17, doent proc for me, but thats ok since a have an unlimited charge berserker strengh on my pgt. I dual weild it with icetooth claws with a good out come and would recommend the duo, but anyway, the beard is real good, i thought beards had +cold resist, guess i was wrong. Anyway, with this and no spell effects i have 58 magic resistance and 118 agility. -Peace Out
It dropps off coldain Wolfhandlers. saw two out of around 15 kills. It was better than what I was wearing so I put it on. It would not trigger for lvl 32. It is lore.
Traded around and got one of these to day for about 500pp in items. It had unlimited charges and I expect to sell it for big $ hehe of course xev sucks when it comes to selling stuff.
These things drop off of Crystal Spiders too. Or it might have been a Tar Goo. But you can find them off of other mobs.
As to their being rare, I think the other guy is thinking of Giant Beards which are common in the city. The one I got todayis the first one I have seen.
there not as rare as ya think look in the city more there drop in there have used up one of them all charges and dosnt proc just man. click. good luck out ther
These drop off of the coldain, hundreds have been slain and have seen a few. Pretty rare , especially since not many are killing the coldain. My warrior likes his. Procs at around 40.Probably would not sell for less than 1000
Actually, according to a post from Verant, Paladins are going to get the piercing skill and they were making weapons in Velious to reflect that. They are supposed to represent the lance and pike weapons used by knights. Don't expect to get a horse anytime soon though.
WTF? I didn't post this here! I was looking at the piercer you get off the queen when I posted this. I was just looking through the site and saw this post and I laughed until I saw I was the poster. ROFL... Well, I hope this post stays where it is supposed to.
