I've seen a merchant selling them for 2pp apiece. and somebody is tryingto sell one for 45pp. that's nuts
THis item is a rip off! I paid 100pp for 3 of these. the dem thing doesn't even say its Secondary/Range Slot ONLY! Now I am stuck with it and I cannot use!
I repeat gain - the item discription doesn't say that it cannot be used in PRIMARY hand!

Not a rip off... its an item to add to your resist gear... which would be handy when facing .. say.. Vox :) 10svc is pretty nice on a range slot.
not totally wasted...but mostly :( u may still equip them in your range slot as it has a range of 40 on it. so...put er in there and boom +10svc

I'm guessing the logic behind this is that a small little dagger that pierces is not an honorable weapon to use. Same reason Paladins don't kick.

ERmmm SKs don't get kick either.
Just had one of these drop off an Elite Frost Giant in Iceclad. Was one of the two that stand guard at base of the Dragon Bridge leading to Eastern Wastes. I'm equipping it as a Cold Resistance gear when needed...not sure if there are any other +10svCold items that i can put in my range slot when i need to buff up my cold resistance.....
You can use a Runed Bone Fork. Drops in U Guk from a Froglok Gaz Squire. Anyway it gives +10 to Fire, Cold and Magic in the range slot. It's his rare, so it may be frustrating, but I luckily got it on the 1st try. You can get it solo way before you could get this dagger. I did it at level 30-31 or so and the frog was way green. IMO a great resist item for low-mid level and beyond maybe.

Careful observation of this weapon's stats reveals that it only works inthe SECONDARY and RANGE slots. Nobody can use it in their primary slot, which is a shame since it would be a decent primary hand slot weapon for low level rogues. Good for raising dual wield skill, because it has such a low delay.

Uncommon spawn around the Tower is a Pulsating Icestorm. Killed it about 10 times in three days, every time it dropped Chill Dagger.
May have been luck, but one time it dropeed two. I think someone in the group accidently gave it one. :-)

I was hunting in Iceclad near the dock killing snow cougars and one of these chill daggers droped off a shadow guardian we killed.

I have been playing a rogue lately, and was unable to equip this item anywhere but in the range slot, perhaps some other people can equip it in any slot, leading me to believe this weapon is bugged...

Same experience on my part. I could only equip this weapon in my range slot as a Halfling Rogue.

YOu know its amazing... i just bought one and i too couldn't put it in my secondary slot... it must be bugged... that or the fact that i don't yet have dual weild will not allow me to equip it there... (in case no one caught on the first part was dripping with sarcasm) come people think before you post. Just because something doesn't work the way you think it should when you want it to doesn't mean that its bugged or any other numerous derogatory comments.

I have the same issue... i thought Piercing skill was a melee skill, not throwing ;o/
