New Pricing?
# Nov 11 2005 at 9:55 PM Rating: Decent
Guys, I seached two different servers and I couldn't find these for less that 45p anywhere. Some folks were asking as high as 150p for a SINGLE fang. After two days of searching I paid the 45p for each (yep - a whopping 90p for a pair) and put them on my dwarven paladin that needed the STR/HP boost. At 90p they were INFINITELY cheaper than anything else out there for comparable stats.
Current pricing index:

This is from the Bazaar of several servers

Tarew Marr: 10-40p each, 12 Orc Fang Earrings
The Seventh Hammer: 5-30p each, 27 Orc Fang Earrings
Zek: 5-20p each, 11 Orc Fang Earrings

So as you all can see, the prices for these are pretty low now that people have farmed them so much that nearly every lowbie I come across has at least one of them on for the STR+ and HP+. Although there ARE better out there, they just aren't reasonable, say, 400p for a good upgrade from an Orc Fang Earring to something with an additional +2 STR, and +10 HP? Come on. Let's be reasonable. Just get a lvl45-70 friend to go kill a bunch of Sonic Wolves in Hollowshade Moor for a while for a Sonic Wolf Earring. That's the nearest upgrade when it comes down to price vs. availability * time spent trying to quest something out.
Great for now

I have seen these for sale as low as 20PP each in bazaar on several servers. Most sell them in the 25-35PP range, but deals can be found if you are willing to wait for them. If you see these under 20, which I haven't, buy as many as you can carry. Great item for resale or for twinking alts, so your money won't be wasted.
If you were me and I were you, would we still be friends?
Still A Good Buy

This is one of those items that a new player can find at a good low price and hang onto for a good long time. Great bonuses for very few platt.

What to do? Well, I have a Silver Bloodstone Earring...forgot most the stats...but it gives +3 STA. But +3 STA easily cedes to +3 STR and 3 AC and 15 HP (woop de doo). Anyhow, point is I gotta emerge from CC and take advantage of erhm... the lack of camping at Ry'Gorr Fort these days and camp at least one earring, my other earring is a Forest Loop which I won't have to replace for awhile. Hmmmm.....which makes me think.....are Forest Loops lore? Mebbe I should just get another. =P

Liberal Conspiracy
Once you're over 100, the main reason for +STA is hitpoints. Unless you're getting 6 or more hitpoints per STA from your +3 STA earring, the "whoop de doo" +15hp is still a better deal, even without the added STR.

Nope, forest loops aren't lore, you can wear two if you like.

These are great earrings for low level characters up to even lvl 25 characters and maybe even higher. Go to the bazzar and buy a pair for 30pp like I did. One merchant was selling it for 10pp and another for 20pp. Great earrings for any class.
Up to date information

Price wise these are very affordable for anyone who is looking into getting a set. This is due to the fact that they are rather easy to get. Sitting outside the Orc Fort in EW and using my 51 Necromancer I am able to still gain experience from the the Elites and some Centurions. It has become rather common to find a earring on orcs every 10 or so. A decent group of 30s can harvest these as well. They are great earrings but I wouldn't pay more than 50pp for them (if you really wanted them) if you are looking for a bargain I am sure you can hold out for a lot lower price.

I tend to agree the forums pointless even if you do leave your server at least use the clasifieds. Personnally im bound in freeport and hunt in oasis so i walk through the norrath mall all the time (east commons) i just make a macro for what im selling or buying and just tap it a few times when i walk through and just look at the ones that do pop up. This worked great the other day i had wanted a skull shaped barbute so i had the WTB macro. ne responses for a few days then on way to oasis i see someone is selling it for 200pp fair price so i ask him about trades he is willing to take my mask of the eight eyes which i was asking 80 for and 100 pp better deal. I start to go back to bank for cash and mask and he says he is looking to buy orc fang earings i asked how much he didnt know. I love my orc fangs and wasnt gonna part for them for fair price i was hoping he was desperate told him i was hoping he REALLY wanted them. whne i was in bank he sent me the following tell "Ill give you helm and 200pp for earings and mask" 200pp heml = 200 pp = 400 pp - (50pp earings x 2 = 100) - 80 pp mask =220pp profit a few days later was camping Sro orc camp in oasis saw a tell for the earings for 35pp a piece so offered him more if he came to me still only took 70 pp for the earings so in the end i made 150 plat profit just by watching and using auctions got everything i wanted gat rid of a few items and came out ahead. The beauties of a free economy = ] but please dont bother posting here for items for sale or to buy its so annoying when you want the item or have it for sale but they are on another server

Any better for monks?
# Aug 11 2001 at 7:30 AM Rating: Default
Finally, a message that isn't about the price.

What I'm wondering is whether there is anything better that is as easy to get for monks. I know the Imbued Uberring of Bruce Lee (drops off Veeshan) kicks this one's butt, but it's going to be a while until I can go get one of those, and I'm thinking that 3ac 3str and 15hp is pretty good for a low level monk.
RE: Any better for monks?
# Oct 04 2001 at 9:11 AM Rating: Good
If you are asking for something that is better AND easier/cheaper to get, then no.

Other options would be Cougar claw earring, and sarnak earring of station.

These earring will get you a long way. I think I upgraded to cougar claw at level 43.
RE: Any better for monks?
# Feb 09 2002 at 12:16 PM Rating: Default
lol my warrior is wearing them at 46... (and im pretty well off, Lamentation, css ,fungi tunic,)
Just never thought of replacing them... earing of station is better but i hunted in ill omen for a few levels and never saw one. Cougar claw i would say is better, and i can sure kill kitties so, i think ill go get some of those now that i think of it...
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 10 2001 at 3:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have bought about a dozen of these for less than 40p and sold them for over 50p. If you pay over 40p you are a fool.

I beg to differ. I am NOT a fool IF I pay over 40p for one of these. From your own words, I would have to be YOUR CUSTOMER to pay 10p more than you admit it is worth! Way to cut your own throat.

Price on earring
# Jul 11 2001 at 9:00 PM Rating: Good
I've noticed there's a slight price drop on the earrings. About 3 months ago, the earrings were sold for about 150-200pp each and now they go for 50-100pp.

The price on this have dropped a lot. Even though they're almost as good as cougar claws, they're a lot more common, so don't go for nearly as much. Usually around 50pp now. I remember when they sold for twice that.

Of course, now that everybody's favorite pasttime seems to be oing to Iceclad to farm cougar claws, a lot more will be on the market, and you're going to see their price drop. Already has, to some degree. Used to sell for 400, now you have a good chance of getting one for 200-300. Will continue to drop as the supply goes up because of the farmers.

I bought one of these babies a week or two ago for 90pp, and bought a second yesterday for 75pp. The price has come down (from over 150pp) now that these are so common.

If you want to purchase one from someone on this site u have to email them and be on the same server as they are and then meet them in the game to buy the item. Hope you get what u need. =0)

I think the price listed is a little high. On Terris-Thule, my old server, it sold for 50. Now I'm on the Nameless server and it sells for 150... Big inflation...
# Jun 16 2001 at 7:20 AM Rating: Decent
The average price is skewed by old numbers - look at the detail. These went for 500-1k when Velious first came out, now they are in the 40-100pp range (sounds like a stock doesn't it) Personally I've bought these anywhere from 30pp/pair to 50pp for one and never sold one for more than 75pp - when I have a spare I usually trade it to a lowbie in Everfrost for 3 hq bear skins now.
saved my life
# Jun 12 2001 at 8:22 PM Rating: Good
15hp wont make much difference when the mobs double hits you for 60-80. But these 15hp was enough to save my monk from seeing loading please wait....

I was fighting a miner in CC. I was doing fine until somone trained the foreman and the rest of the pit room on me. Everyone started to beat on me. I hit feign death... got the fail message(fallen to the ground). I mend my wounds, stand up and strafe run jump towards the dorf city while waiting for my feign death button to repop. These mobs runs fast and theres no way that I can outrun these without sow. Im VERY low on health when feign death repops(about a pixle of healt left). I hit the feign death, and the mobs stops beating on me. I hit the inventory button to check my hps, and guess what.... 10 hp left.

Switch to cougar claw earrings? No way!

I for one believe you shouldn't be getting in a situation where 15 points save your life. Theoretically, an orange sash of order with +2hp could save you too, if you get that low. But every hit point helps.

If you're really concerned about hp, get a pair of velium fire wedding rings, 65hp each, that's 130 extra hp for you. Expensive, but well worth it.

That should plenty to make up for the hp on these, cougar claws have 1 more ac and 2 more dex. For a monk, who needs all the ac they can get, especially on a lightweight item, think the cougar claws are really the way to go.
RE: saved my life
# Mar 04 2002 at 4:52 PM Rating: Default
Heh, well that's all fine and good except this is an EARRING, not a ring. You can wear this AND Velium Fire Wedding Rings.

But yes, Cougar Claws are a tad better. Not that much, but a bit. I wouldn't bother buying a Cougar Claw to replace this, though. I'll wait for something better.

He, everyone assumes I've been twinked, just because of fortunate drops and purchases I've made. I think I have pretty average equipmet for my level. The only semi-twink item I have, is a crystal covered shroud, which I traded a fighting baton for, that someone gave me for free. Well, somebody gave me an orc fang necklace too, but that's only slightly better than a wu collar. The sceptre of mastery is the result of a fortunate set of circumtances during a Kael raid I was way too low for. I just happened to be the only monk in the zone when it dropped. Wasn't until 2 leels ago that my bank account ever broke 200, bought an executioner's hood and an orc fang necklace. My equpment I don't think is so good that it makes me look like a twink, check my profile yourself, it's not unrealistic.

CC Earrings are better
# Jun 07 2001 at 5:45 AM Rating: Default
News flash - all of you saying about how great this earring is, check out the cougar claw earring ( +4 AC +3 STR +2 DEX ) which is a one in about 75 drop off of the cougars all over Velious. Ive been hunting in Iceclad and from levels 32-35 have gotten six total earrings. Avg. price on these awesome ears is about 500pp
RE: CC Earrings are better
# Jul 27 2002 at 3:31 AM Rating: Decent
News flash, for some people the DEX may be irrelvant... 1 ac or 15 hp = both about the same as each other (though I think the 15hp edges out the extra 1 ac).
I wont post pointless crap like how much CCs and these go for in such a fluid economy over so many servers, BUT, Orc Fangs are always CHEAPER than CCs. News flash ends.... you prat.
