Takish Hiz was once full of palacial white towers surrounded by lush gardens, and was a thriving home for the Elddar, Tunare's ancient tribe of elves. Legend has it that Solusek Ro grew jealous of the Elddar and arched the spine of the Serpent Mountains, unleashing the blistering heat and sun on the homeland of the elves. The Elddar fought against the burning sun for some time; however, the rivers eventually ran dry. The city crumbled and the elves were forced to flee.

Fastforward to present day: Under the threat of Mayong Mistmoore's release in to godhood, Tunare has called upon the aid of Karana and Druzzil Ro to give Norrathians a passage into the Takish Hiz of old. It is her hope that Norrathians will learn from her lost Chosen, and will return to Norrath with their great knowledge.

You can find the entrance to the Ruins of Takish-Hiz in the Southern Desert of Ro, a short distance southwest of the oasis.

I found the Guardian of Sandflow in the same building as Cirwea Strongbow. I'm thinking the "a guardian of sand" are the placeholders of this mob but this is just a guess.

Rangers receive no Aura... only the Glittering Cloak of the Ruins which is tradeable and lore.... sells for 50 to 1500 plat in bazaar if you have better already when you help others and have a chance to collect the needed items yourself while doing the Chalice of Life quest in the Ruins of Takish `Hiz (not an instance so enterable solo in order to do the Belt of the Rainforest quest in Eldder Forest [see writeup by Deeany below])

Ok have done this one several times now. It is soloable. First have a slot for a bag, next if your not a gater make sure you have a gate potion or something. Take your preferred route to South Ro. Open your map , you will see indents bout mid way of zone. Head to indent on left side of map. In the top corner of the indent is a black hole you click to zone. This lands you in Ruins of Takish Hiz. Invis and head towards the center. You are now looking for a small ramp with steam coming out of it. Step on the steam pad and you go to Elddar Forest. In Elddar Forest stay invis, go leftish round the building till you see a hill. Follow the hillside around till you come to a tree named Grayleaf. Uninvis and hail Grayleaf , follow text and get the mission called Tree Heaven. You receive a pouch to deliver. Now make your way to Plane of Growth. This is where you will need gate etc as there is no zone out. Once in Plane of Growth make your way to Tunare Tree. About half way up the tree is Dryad of Tunare. Univis , hand pouch to Dryad. Task complete. You are now the owner of Rainmaker Belt. Gate and Gratz .

Yes, Takish-Hiz IS an LDON, however this zone is a new PoR zone called the Ruins of Takish-Hiz. The Belt of the Rainmakers is only coming up with one hit on Google at the moment and that is it's Entry into Lucy which was just added on the Feb 26th and verified yesterday March 6th. I don't know for sure which zone that new belt actually comes from.

Look for a trench in the ground SW of the island with the spectres in South Ro. Look for the pitch black area in a corner and click on that

lore behind this zone...
# Feb 22 2006 at 10:48 AM Rating: Default
There is a druid in the PoK library that has 5 books talking about this zone. He's been there for a while, there is some decent lore behind it if your interested. He's standing next to the higher end Druid spells dealer/Parchment turn in NPC.
