This raid task begins with Widdlethorpe Gemfinder in the Stoneroot Falls at approximate location -65, -1200. You require a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 54 in your raid.

Before you can request this task you must complete Widdlethorpe's four group tasks.

You say, 'Hail, Widdlethorpe Gemfinder'

Widdlethorpe Gemfinder says 'Oh no, no, no! This is disastrous! I only meant for you to stop the drachnids from controlling the Korlach not for you to wake it up! The devastation I spoke of could still happen but without any rhyme or reason to it. I need your help [one last time] in this endeavor.'

You say, 'I'll help one last time'

Widdlethorpe Gemfinder says 'Good, good. I think it may be difficult to actually kill the beast, but I have been studying the coral sample you brought to me and believe I have found the secret to using it to put the Korlach back to sleep. Here, I have enchanted this piece for you to use. Take a look at it and let me know when you're [ready to embark.]'

You say, 'We're ready to embark'

Widdlethorpe Gemfinder says 'Excellent, make sure you do not lose that coral, it will be critical to your mission. Do all that you can to put the Korlach back to sleep, and at all costs do not awaken it again once it's asleep! Once it has been subdued we may all rest easy once again.'

You have been assigned the task 'Korlach, the Deep Leviathan'.

Return the Korlach to its slumber as quickly as possible. Every moment it remains awake places all of us in grave peril.

You receive a "Glowing Chunk of Corathus Coral" with effect Jarzarrad's Rune on it.

Sneak back into the Korlach's lair 0/1 (Stoneroot Falls)

The instance is located on your compass.

Your task 'Korlach, the Deep Leviathan' has been updated.
LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Lair of the Korlach.

Engage the Korlach 0/1 (Lair of the Korlach)

Clear your way through to the Leviathan's cavern (in previous tasks it is occupied by numerous basilisks, but in this instance it's just Korlach and some young witherans).

Bring the Korlach back under control 0/1 (Lair of the Korlach)

Korlach, the Deep Leviathan, hits for a max ~3,000 (unshielded) and flurries. It has a hatelist-based AE (called what?) that removes levitate spells. It can be slowed. Keep in mind if Korlach is underwater, you must also be underwater to cast spells on it. If it's above water level, you must be above water to cast on it.

At roughly 80, 60, 40 and 20%, you will see this emote:

The Korlach abandons its mental defenses and concentrates on healing.

...followed by:

The Korlach begins to reestablish its mental defenses.

In this timeframe you need to land "Jarzarrad's Rune" on the Leviathan. NOTE: The click effect cast time is the same amount of time you have to successfully land it, so you'll have to be mindful of cast timing.

If it fails to land in that window, you see:

Korlach, the Deep Leviathan does not seem to be affected by the enchantment.

...and get a single add (difficulty on par with trash mobs in the zone).

If you are succesful with the click, you will see:

The Korlach abandons its mental defenses and concentrates on healing.

The Korlach seems distracted for a moment as it tries to shake off the enchantments.

The Korlach abandons its mental defenses and concentrates on healing.

The Korlach suddenly calms as its eyes glaze over.

At this point Korlach becomes mezzed (and dispells all his buffs) and you get a bunch of adds (6-10 of them, each hit for ~900 and have low hps). When the Korlach wakes up:

The Korlach looks disoriented for a moment as it comes out of its daze, but quickly resumes the attack.

When you put him to sleep at the 20% mark, you win. Adds do NOT despawn.

Rewards

A chest spawns after winning. In it are: 0-1 Discordant Stone + 2 Glowing Runes + 3 items from this list:

Ancient Wristband of Woven Moss
Blackened Witheran Hide Bracer
Cursed Cord of Mortals
Engraved Nargilor Wristguard
Imbued Shoulderguards of the Leviathan
Orb of Dark Water
Shining Longbow of the Leviathan
Tattered Nargilor-Studded Belt
Torn Deathshed Cloak
Twisted Bracer of Control
Witheran Scale Mask

This shared task requires a full group.

Can anyone tell me if this mission is duoable with a single group or if it is a raid only deal?

More strats posted under the the mob itself.

Click a clicky and hope it lands in a window much shorter than the clicky's cast time. Have multiple people chain click with a 1s pause and hope one of them lands. Deal with the adds that will spawn.

This is to date the most retarded game mechanic I've seen.
Wrong mission

The zone in is in the underwater tunnel in the right side of the zone. Quest giver is in Stoneroot where the quest begins. Upon zoning in you get your first update finding the entrance.
The second updat is gotten after progressing forward past the first non-underwater room, through the first withrean room and past the second withrean room to the basilisk room. Caution should be used in this room pulling as the young withrean the mob needed for the update is also here in this room and kos. Clear the room starting left and going around to the right to ensure you have as much time as you can for the fights next after. The quest receiver whom got the quest has a 3 charge charm item, name is something coral, I didn't have it so dont know. That person needs to charm the young withrean. The withrean then becomes a autofollow on that person it does not assist in fighting. This is the second update. NOTE as of 2 JAN at this point if the young withrean dies you do not lose it will respawn. ALSO once charmed you do not need him anymore-- so if you wipe you dont lose. Next task is defend yourselves from the young withreans protectors. This is progressive run back to the entrance of the zone. You have to kill 4 protectors whom each have a slasher and a withrean as a minimium in the pull. As well as you have to clear the rooms you just left as the zone repops. Upon completion of the 4 protectors. The Next task is return to the zone line. The update is just before the zone line entrance of the water area. Chest spawns at this point. Next everyone needs to zone out and someone needs to hail the quest giver to finish the task. The melee reward for easy mission is: Earring of the wretchedness--
