why put beasts

isnt this spell kinda useless for bl. at level 12 they get a 71 damage nuke for 40 mana. 14 levels later they get an upgrade that does 7 more damage for 4 more mana.

The only real thing this spell has over "Blast of Frost" (which BLs get @ 12...) is that this does slightly more damage and doesn't make you wait half a minute before casting again.

That being said, I agree with WarpedMonkey completely lol. Blast of Frost is right about the same mana efficiency (with BoF having a pinch better mana/damage ratio) -and- BoF casts in .5 seconds. This means even some hardcore twinks with some haste stuff can squeeze it in between beating sessions. Just my opinion anyways lol.

In my opinion, a BL at this level has such awesome options with the warder, using this nuke as an extra will only make the mana go away faster. Have fun ^_~

Evocation for the Shaman

It's not a bad idea at this level to work on your evocation skill. While our later evocation spells are not very mana efficient, many groups will kill too fast for our dots to be effective, especially when we are slowing (usually the shaman's main job in a group).

If you find yourself a bit behind in any casting skills, you can cast on yourself all day in Plane of Knowledge, even evocation. You may even get a friendly chanter to clarity you.

As a beastie we get very few offensive spells.. even at higher level we get ice spells with slow recast rates this is a good spell to have as i now cast frost , ice spear , then 2 of these .. combined damage is 612 ... with pet attack this quickly lays the mob out

This nuke is incredible at this level. You can root, back away, and nuke. It hits for 74 alot of the time and recovers quickly.

Hunting in unrest and the warrens, I have been able to combine root/DOT/slow/spirit strike to help bring up my stats for both melee and caster skills.

Having played a druid for years, I am impressed with the power to tank and cast that a shaman has at this level.

Good hunting.
