As of Jan 28th 2007, killing Guard Gruilka gives you the following faction:

- Dark Ones
- Shadowknights of Night Keep
+ Frogloks of Guk

I wonder why this one scowls at my druid in wolf form while the other troll is just dubious.

She (Gruilka) is on Dark Ones faction while the other guard is on Shadowknights of Night Keep.

ah revisiting an old anyone would read it these days :p.
I wonder why she is on SK of Nightkeep but she is a shaman?
I don't know much about troll culture.
She is threatening to my ogre shaman. Her fellow guard is just dubious.

Lol Necro's own her and her SK friend!!
Get to Max range- put pet in middle between you
In this order-Fear her pet, send in your pet, snare her, fear her, stack dots, lifetap once or twice, fear her pet once she's dead and back off your pet, her pet will run off lol.
Easy as that. Only problem i had with her was that she can root you and get out of range. This was the only problem i had with her.
Did her from 36-39 with no problems then moved on to bouncers in oggok.

Killing her makes ur faction with Darkones (shammy, beastlord guild at Neriak) and GrobbGuards go worse (troll guards), and your factions with Froggies of Guk AND Greenblood Knights get better (Greenblood Knights are em Ogre SK guild at Oggok).
Her friend, Guard Shizsomething, gives faction better with Broken Skull Clan (Em' pirate's at Ykesha?), but worse with troll SK guild.
They're nice exp for me at 45 w/ my shammy. can take em about the time they respawn. Wont add when I pull one from other end. Just root the pet, make ur pet attack em, slow em, dot em, heal pet few times maybe, then take their pet down after they die. Fairly nice exp, and I hope froggies of Guk will like me soon. =)
Hope this helps yous!

Can a lvl 43 necro solo them? If yes, would you tell me where they can be found?

As an Iksar will the merchant sell to me or ignore me like the others?

I've been killing rangers in EC for the last 2 lvl and a half and looking for the same type of camp. If you have any idea I'd gladly appreciate your help.

I came here at 44 and found it to be steady exp. Its not that amazingly fast exp but its good and steady once you break both the spawns and can take them before they make their pets. The reason their pets are an issue is not so much because of the pets being strong, they're not, the pets are extremely weak, the problem is it makes them harder to deal with because of the issue with aggro. I recommend earth pet so that you can keep them rooted and still nuke hard because they will beat your pet to a bloody pulp very quickly, especially the SK one. I recommend using /assist to make sure your pet is on the guard not the guards pet. To summarize it, its good steady exp, but be careful, spread out the spawn times, and don't let them make a pet if you can avoid it.

This is about as easy, albiet as boring, as it gets for a Mage at 44. It would probably work a few levels below that as well, although it would be riskier in terms of losing your pet. Here's how I did 44-45 in 4:15 and had time to clean my office as well :)

When you break the spawn, kill Gruilka first, she's the easiest. At 44 I didn't even bother with the MR debuffs, they never resist me. Stand on the opposite side of her from her partner and send the pet in directly. Let the pet engage and damage her slightly, then hit her with two consecutive blaze spells (I have focus items, if you don't, Shock of swords might be safer for you on the second one), she'll drop like the stock market. Let your pet clean up her pet, or give him a nuke too. Med for 2 minutes, then engage her partner the same way, sending the pet in first. He will harm touch your pet and drop about half of its life early in the fight. Don't freak out, he only does this once and your pet will survive the rest of the fight because its going to last about another 10 seconds. Blaze him, then Shock of Swords immediately. He will die and leave your pet to finish his weak skeleton pet. Now, move your pet between the spawn points and about 10 paces back and set him to guard so he always returns to the same spot. Sit behind him and wait. Each troll is on a 6 minute spawn, so 3 minutes later, Gruilka will pop. Send the pet in immediately and she wont even have time to summon her pet. Drop her with two blazes, loot her and go sit behind your pet again. Repeat this back and forth for a little over 4 hours, and you will ding, safe and sound.

A few notes:

I had clarity when I did this, but without using the debuff spells, and using primarily the 34th level nukes, I don't even think I needed it.

I used my fire pet because it meant I didn't have to mess around with keeping the damage shield up. But any pet would work for this im sure.

Keep burnout II on your pet, and a DS if not using fire.

There is a merchant up north that sells gems that you can unload the ring mail and fine steel pieces to. They fetch 1.5 to 5 platinum each, meaning along with the 0-4 platinum they drop in cash, this is a pretty nice money camp for 4 hours as well.

Find something to do so you don't fall asleep, practice a trade skill or read a book. This is intensely easy, which makes it intensely boring. But the money and the xp are worth it to level this fast at 44.

Good luck.

I have written a detailed set of directions for levelling up on Gruilka and her friend Shiznak:

Excellent guide. 37 mage and 37 cleric started last night. we are pulling both and making about one yellow per hour and a half. Thanks Macnair!

Druids can take them. At 47, I can take them both (one at a time of course). Then again, i'm oom after both and by the time i regen 1 bub of mana, they spawn again, so the hopes of taking them both before their pets spawn is nil, but still, it's easy. Snare/root/dot/dd/dd and they go down. You then have 6 minutes to regen mana (which i usually can get fom or close to it, in that time). Lvls are flying by, but once i hit 48, i suspect it will dry up and i'll be forced to move on. Not worried about the faction hits, as I go nowhere near Grobb or Ogguk.

She's a level 35 shamy and is on a 6 minute spawn cycle next to her friend Guard Shiznak (whose also level 35 but a SK). I took them from 40-47 with my druid and now im taking them with my necro. They made them tougher after I kited them with my druid so now only classes with decent pets (necros and mags) can solo them so they aren't camped as much as before they were made tougher. Great exp. If you take the camp by yourself (which I have with my necro 95% of the time) you can get a yellow bub an hour (I did in the low 40's and at 45, I was getting about 3 blues in an hour which is great for a hell!). Take advantage of this camp if your a necro and don't ignore them if your a de (I was). I take exp over unimportant faction anyday. [i.e. who needs faction with the barbarians as opposed to faction with humans (I like the ability to use the FP bank since its close to EC the zone for items.)]

Ok here's what you do if your a necro (if your a mag I think all you do is DS your earth pet and nuke away with your latest non-projectile nuke heh).
I suggest you solo these guys 40+ since you have more mana, and less resists. Shamy is easier but has tougher pet. I sick my pet on shammy, snare and fear, then fear the wolf, then VoS and lifetap away. Simple as that for Shammy. If spawns haven't been broken yet than I suggest killing her first (preferably with FM). Then med 3 minutes and take out SK.
The SK harm touches for 351 (and it stings) SO ALWAYS LET PET HIT THE SK FIRST. Your 39 pet can take it but don't know how much hp he'll have left (never really checked). HT won't kill you, but it will bring your health down thus you will waste your mana lifetaping to get full hp so then you can CoB. Anyhoo after pet takes HT, snare, fear, VoS, BB lifetap to full hp if you've CoBed (and you will if you want to keep both of them). And med. If fear wears off re-cast it. Even if he has like 5hp left he will still attack pet which can be a major pain since your pet already got hurt from HT. Better 100 mana than 390 mana and a lower level pet.

Hope this helps. I would have given a druid strat but we can't kill them anymore. Just too dang hard :) better off killing the other stupids in the zone (HG's) and they have better loot.

I agree that they are GREAT xp...but I'm a lvl 38 Druid with 174 Wis and I have been taking Gruilka, and her pet when I first start camping. I don't let her summon her pet after the first kill and, although I admit she is tuff and I died twice before I got that hang of fighting her, I CAN solo her. I tried Shiznak first, but he's a bit too much...his resists make him tuff and he hits HARD.

So a Druid can solo these trolls...starting at at least 38.
