After completing the Gem of Sorcery quest, ask Stefan about the next gem:
You say, 'What work?' Stefan Marsinger says 'Wonderful. Return to the plane and continue your studies of the demons of magic. With the new information you have brought I believe we have a good framework of reference for the lower rankings of these beings, however there is another echelon of power that I will need to be familiar with. Seek out the minions of magic that seem to take Dark Elven form. These would be the sages, warlocks, and sorcerers. All of these creatures should be within your area of study, but take care! You may even find some that follow your particular discipline if that makes you more comfortable. Make sure to keep your protection with you at all times. Some of them should have a kind of Etched Sorcerer's Crest symbolizing their rank; bring me this crest and some hatebone drake bones, along with your Gem of Sorcery. If you succeed in this task you are more valuable than I could have imagined, and I may need your skill with a final reconnaissance errand.' Turn in Etched Sorcerer's Crest (off Dark Elf casters), Hatebone Drake Bones (off hatebone drakes), and the Gem of Sorcery. As you hand the crest to Stefan, it seems to wither and die in the fresh air. 'Very interesting, I must get to this at once. I am sure the bones will prove most valuable in learning of the drakes as well. Take this with you once more; the protective properties are even more powerful now. Are you up to a [final task]?' You receive 3 platinum from Stefan Marsinger. Receive Gem of Enchantment and the lead-in to the Gem of Conquest quest. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Has anyone MQ-ed this quest? I presume it's possible if the character you're MQ-ing for has the Gem of Sorcery already?

so then any mob can be ph? they're static? they only spawn if you kill the same type mob or what, you didn't narrow it down very much lol

We killed the Hatebone Broodlord tonight. Dropped a Int caster shoulder item (7 int 10 mana 10 hps), and the hatebone drake bones. BTW, he was a joke to fight. Took him down with 5 people Paly, Druid, Necro, Ranger and Wizard - levels 63 to 65. He went down fast.

All of these mobs spawn sother of the of the stairs leading to the Maestro's building. once you pass that point the mobs all jump to being 55+ and get up to 63 against the sothermost wall.
