Monk / Shaman duo'd the normal version dain, 70, in tacvi gear (well sham is my box and was in time gear.. really easy though, sham got hit some after banishing but my monk has solid agro np.

As you can see this is a very nice belt. Although i do want it, I am a dwarf.LOL.Yes a dwarf wanting a belt of dwarf slaying.Makes perfect sense right?

After getting my faction to amiable (even before I cast my 300 faction change buff being I am a chanter ... which got me to kindly) I have been waiting two weeks to catch KT up before he is killed.
Yesterday he finally popped!
I was lucky enough to be standing right at his spot to see him pop. It was kind of weird though, because when I first looked at his throne where he spawns, there was actually another NPC standing there. I can't recall the NPC's name, but I had never seen it before and it's not one of the normal NPC's that hang out around KT's throne.
After about a minute of sitting there, I then saw King Tormax pop right before my eyes and the other NPC was nowehre to be found. It was kind of creepy. =)
Anyways, I then gladly hailed KT and handed him Dain's Head to receive my Belt of Dwarf Slaying.
My guild then took him down swiftly and gobbled up some pretty nice loot.
NOTE: I was told that after you hail him, if he talks to you and offers you the quest, then your faction is good enough. I actually hailed him while amiable before casting my faction buff on him and he offered me the quest. However, just to be sure I cast my faction buff on him, which took me to kindly. I then handed him Dain's Head.

dropped dain 425 with 19 ppl tonight. he's a friggin *****. (we were almost all 65 though, hehehe)

Hehe most of the top guilds on Prexus use Dain for XP grouping, hehe. Single group.

well, if u have the right classes he is one groupable. he CAN be slowed if u use a wtd shaman. group needs to consist of bard,necro,cleric,warrior +dps bard plays regen songs necro pumps cleric mana necro pays to sac a shaman right next to throne then uses wtd to slow dain. dps wait for 2 minutes before engaging doing max dps. u dont even need that great of a tank just a good healer with a high mana pool and to Unnforgiven Defender of Justice your fuc'king retarded. no guild will farm a single mob for exp. and since this quest only yeilds one reward i have to say that even if they did want to use this, everyone in the guild would quickly have one.

Would love to see a single group take down an unslowable mob with up to 400k health that quads in the 400's. Yeh it is all melee but you better have 2 tanks because when 1 gets banished he is coming after the casters next.
oh and still dont think he is 1 groupable. no way casters could keep enough mana ><

I dont know about you but at any level of uberness I will find the banish annoying as hell...
Two things. 1) Stop cussing, it only makes you look less intelligent. 2) Just because you and your 18 lvl 65 friends can take him out fairly easily doesn't make him a pu**y.

what is the currently necessary faction lvl to do this quest successfully ? ive heard non KoS, ive heard amiable, and ive heard Ally
Looks to me like high amiable is required (as is for the Tormax Head quest with Yelinak).
I can guarantee that Kindly is sufficient, however, having finally completed the damn quest after 3 months of periodic dwarf head donations to Bvellos. Never killed a single dwarf or dragon for the faction. Ha.

We got lucky tonight. 4 Dains back to back. Could have got more but we ran out of people doing the shawl quest :(

Both of these Items are Top notch. Dain Pull Hard a a mother... Can take anywhere from 1 min to 6 hours. Yelinak is just Hardcore and Heavily camped. Tormax Faction also is 1 that is hard to raise =) Yelinak is also 1 who is you turn in the Head of Tormax you get some Giant Slaying item. All heads are worth the items they yield just the factioning is a bit difficult. =)

Dain wasnt bad to pull since he warps through the ice when ya aggro him, but the ***** thing about him is keeping a main tank, he banish's everyone who as aggro whenever he gets banish up ( pain in the ***)
Fight him at the bottom of the well where he Dain touches people to, there for you take his dain touch out of the equation. Good luck!

I got paid 1.5kpp to attack dain frostreaver IV casue they wanted to see how hard he hit he hit me for 425hp3 times and guards finished me off. i got 1.5kpp and 90percent exp res

I have a question on turning in Dain's Head to King Tormax. If you are an enchanter, and are allied with Coldain Dwarves and hated my KD Giants, but you have Dain's head and want to turn it in to the King for the Belt of Dwarfslaying - How do you do it if you are KOS to Giants?
I hear that charm wont work on him, so what am I suppose to do other than get great faction again with Giants which will take forever.

get to none kos and then open trade window get someone to invis u (only after opening window so ur faction is indiff) click trade and then go kill some giants to change faction back to kos

What zone is the dragon in and any clue if what guilds on Sol Ro are actually sided with gaints? i would like to actually side against the dwarfs...... though if i can't i geuss i will join Union =) eather way could someone post all the quest info for each of the 3 vwellious factions?...so i know the pro's and cons of taking dain over keal?
Yelinak is in Skyshrine. You also don't need to be in a specific guild to go ally with giants or dwarves. Just get into groups that give you opposite faction.

to anyone that says he isn't hard, sure he isn't hard when you are in amazing guilds like ED (which i hope to join on day ), and you have 130 people in the guild and 95% of them have there epics and amazing TOV armor, but when you in a normal guild he is hard, think about it, he has 450,000 hp and he hits damm hard, and real fast,

Aye there are 2 versions of him 350 daid and 425 dain. He gets those names becase that what he hits for.

We have killed Dain Frostreaver IV many times and have yet to fail. We have become victoious in all of our seven tries. I have the Belt of the Dwarfslaying and it is actually an ok item. Make sure you have at least 36-42 people. Enlightened Dark has 122 members as of today not counting alternates. We never have a problem but good luck to all who try.

OK this is by far the best priest belt but your pretty much screwed if your on tov thurg faction here is there another quest from yelinak or dain to grant a similiar item?

There is a little tool called ShowEQ that gives all sorts of useful information including the level of the mobs. That's how people figuoure out the level if it's over 62.
While technically showeq would show you his lvl on fan sites thats not where it comes from...the lvl is represenative of how hard the mob is

Ok, heres what I THINK happens when you turn in Lord Yelinak's head. I THINK you get gauntlets of dragon slaying from turning in Lord Yelinak's head. They are 30 ac and plenty of other great stats. Plz don't flame me if I am wrong, this is just a guess.
