Took my 70 ranja for a spin in Kedge, wiped out the first two rooms, then got her attention. Pulled her back with no adds and then slapped her around. She managed to get a couple dots on me, but it didnt matter much. She dropped a lamentation, the journal, and a prayer shawl.

It's pretty obvious to see how sad EverQuest has become when a once difficult Group-Raid mob becomes and easy solo. Lets hope that the progression server stays free of expansions for a while eh? Well there's my two cents.

Well, it's bound to happen, just the level increases alone made that possible, not to mention AAs, epics and stronger spells. I will admit to some ignorance about the earliest parts of the game as when I started, PoP was the latest expansion, but I think the top level was 50 when the game started(?) So, at level 50, this was hard. Fast forward to now, top level is 75, there are tanks that don't yet even have the best equipment out there from the newest expansion and they still buff to 23k+. PoP gods in regular pop zones in many cases can be SOLO'D(Tallon and Vallon come to mind) and aug-dropping raid mobs in COA can be single-grouped.

For better or for worse, this is progress.

I'm a 65 Wizard with 230AAs in Ornate, so you probably can solo her. Use an eye to pull her to a safe spot, and then send in your pet to tank while you chain-nuke. Approx 15K HPs.
RE: Could a 65 Mage Solo her??

65 wiz here soloed her (39 aa). Self buffed, got Virtue. I came in on north side, singled the 3 mermaids in the north-side alcove so that none of them would add or heal Estrella. Single pulled her using Xuzl sword pet, but that didn't work. Since the pet damaged her, it triggered her summoning ability. Her 2 guards added, but I channeled through the gate. The technique that worked was to just approach the archway from the alcove to her room (didn't actually enter her lair). Right off I saw her turn towards me, so I swam back to the tube, (IMPORTANT!) nestled into a corner (to limit spell interrupts), and waited for her to come to me. If your resists are good, the first part of the fight goes well... until she begins meleeing. However, my stuns took care of that. She can resist, but if you've got a few loaded up, she's not difficult. When stunned, you ought to be able to get off a quick casting DD before stunning again. I recommending that you bind outside in case you need to regroup.

I soloed her a couple times as a level 63 wizard with only 7 aa. Easiest thing to do is invis into her room and hook a hard left as soon as you enter it. She sees invis and nothing else in her room does. She will aggro you (or at least she will aggro a lvl 63) and begin casting on you. DON'T fight back at all until she swims at you because she summons and its very hard to channel spells with her and all her friends beating on you at once. She has very few HP and drops pretty fast. Btw, I have 1770 hp and 4285 mana unbuffed and killed her with only self buffs.

Very easy kill as a 65 necro

Go in her room, go to the opposite corner from her (back to the wall), pull with dispel, when she warps on you send pet, unload some dots (Saryrn's Kiss, Funeral Pyre, Blood of Thule and Horror) then alternate Neurotoxin and ToM [for the healing, if you ever need it]), she has very few hps and will go down VERY fast when you're munching them at 1200+/tick

Don't hold back on mana usage, cause you'll more than likely end the fight with lots of it remaining

Um, as near as I can figure, at least the last time I went with my guild and fought her, she seemed to be an enchanter, not a druid. Her pet was a sword and shield pet, and the spells she cast seemed a lot more in character with an enchanter than a druid. Maybe she's been changed yet again, from a necro to a druid to an enchanter, who knows.

the general rule I've been going by is that any 50+ mob 'Could' summon you. This does not take into account Luclin because they have all sorts of weird summoning mobs up on the moon, take the other reply which said they had seen lvl 30 mobs that summon.

luclin is wierd, i got summoned by tailfang (around level 3 i'm assuming, one tainted breath finished it off without the spell wearing off)

iam a lvl 16 bard: this may sound crazy, but having just got my permanent breath under water song would i be able to go to this zone and hire myself out to people, so they dont have to use there limited charge items or get a spellcaster? or would i be aggro'ed on and killed even in a group?

You would be dead dead dead. And the last thing I'm going to do is trust my enduring breath to a bard who may or may not live through the fight.

/agree. I play a 52 Bard and I have been to Kedge a few times. Believe me we have great abilities as Bards and a lot of plp say it's one of the most powerful class but really forget this idea. First, the area of effect of the song is not so big and 2nd, as Amneth said, the breathing ability is totally dependent of your life and nobody would risk this in a dangerous like Kedge.
This kind of spell like invis is essentially good for you and have to be used in group under very special conditions.
Though, the idea of trying to provide services to other is good. As a bard, you have locate corpses ability, limited tracking but useful in many situations, mana song etc.

Um, ya, everyone is kos to her and she sees invis. If you can see her, she'll come your way in no time. Make sure you pull one mob at a time or you'll have the entire gang donkey punching your group. Oh ya...fd does not work with her even though she's only 51.

Feign Death works with every NPC as far as I can tell, including Estrella, no matter their level. Though once or twice in Maiden's Eye I've had odd difficulties feigning off the mind burrowers there, but I think that's because they have some sort of weird proc.

Estrella is tough to FD off you because she's a caster, and loves to chain cast. If a caster NPC of any level begins casting a spell before you FD, then you FD successfully, the caster will continue their casting and when the spell lands, it will ruin your FD (you'll get a message saying this is what happened).

This is why when pulling casters, I recommend turning a corner if possible, waiting for a spell to land on you, then feigning death. An NPC will not begin casting on you if they don't have line of sight, but a spell will still land on you when cast by an NPC if they began casting on you when they did have line of sight. So this way, you can be sure your FD won't be upset after the first spell hits you, because the NPC will no longer have line of sight.

However, the problem with this is that if you FD after turning a corner and you're using this technique to try to split pull, you may not be able to see the NPCs you were trying to pull, and won't be able to tell when they split. If you use F9 to play with the camera angles, maybe you will be able to get a peek at them. If not, you'll have to have someone else to come by and watch and maybe tag any NPC that stays behind. This is one reason why it's a good idea to have a "pull team" instead of just one good puller when you're attempting very tricky pulls involving one or more casters in a dangerous areas.

I believe Estrella used to be a necromancer, but somewhere along the line she was changed into a druid. The listing for her pet here apparently wasn't removed with the change. Last time I fought her she didn't have any kind of pet, and had plenty of time to summon one.

Pulling Estrella

Check out my sure-fire way to pull Estrella single at this link (zone guides area):
http://eqdb.allakhazam.com/strategy/zones.html?zstrat=64&mid=97668568315879

Also, she's lvl 51 and casts mainly "Inkjet" (blindness) and some other Druid oriented DDs and DoTs, as well as Thorn Shield and Roots -- make sure to dispel her early on in the fight, then debuff her a couple times :)

Kind a funny thing happened to me earlier today. I was in Kedge with a group to kill Undertow for my mage friend's epic, and we decided to hit Estrella afterwards. We didn't have an enchanter, and our group was (I believe) a level 55 cleric, a level 54 shadow knight (me), a level 52 monk and a level 49 warrior. A pretty strong group, but not capable of handling 3 or 4 adds.

So we get ready to pull her, discuss different strategies. I read guides like this one on how to pull her. I cast invisibility to go in and scope out the room. I was in the other side of the room from Estrella when all the sudden I get nuked. Uh oh. I swim back towards the balcony and try to feign dead... but it turns out, she came alone.

I found it kind of ironic that people have written guides on the delicate task of pulling Estrella, and I managed to single pull her with her room fully spawned just by swimming in and swimming out. ;)
