I can confirm after a month of farming hate that the rats drop full sets of both armor types. I will add that the kirakeuis do not drop any armor anymore.
Today Jan 7th 2007 droped an arm item for warrior, Indicolite Vambraces AC: 20 STR: +9 DEX: +5 Endurance: +15 WT: 4.9 Size: SMALL Class: WAR Race: HUM BAR ERU ELF HIE DEF DWF TRL OGR HFL GNM VAH FRG Slot 1, Type 7: empty
Yeah, they can be slowed with the Necro undead slow spell. However, they seem to hit pretty hard compared to the other undead mobs of the same level (though perhaps that's because they're not casters, so melee non-stop), even slowed they can eat up my pet fast enough to require heals. I normally aggro-kite these guys and let the pet tank the other low-level undead once they're slowed.
On Saturday (July 26, 2003), had one of these drop the Indicolite Gauntlets. Now if only we could get the Essence of a Vampire to drop off the revenants!
I was the only Ranger on a Raid there last night. Whip droped 3 Times, Very nice little whip, just make sure you have Jolt Memmed, i was snaring and pulled aggro like mad, but one Jolt and i was gtg

Verant is FINALLY paying attention to us rangers, and big changes are coming our way, our offese is up there surpassing warriors now, and they are thinking of upping our defense, I just love the thought. And think of it, I only need 6 more levels before I can go on a planer raid...but I have to get through 40 and 45 first *grumbles* Oh well thanks for your time hehe

POINTS AT YOU! dont say Rangers suck, ok ok ok i know Rangers are not THE best class low HP and blah blah but think of it this way , playing a ranger takes skill baby! We lack alot of stuff BUT it makes the game more fun and challenging =p anyways this whip aint bad adds some nice stuff like dex which is good but killed lots of these Rats in PoH never saw on drop /cry i'll get one soon i hope =) *wonders if Rangers suck at 50+ why are there so many 50+ Rangers in Norrath? Wouldnt they stop by now if they sucked* =p
I have yet to get this whip and I really want one. I went to the PoF and lucked out because I was the only ranger on the raid w/o planes gear so I get TV legs, 2 TV bracer and the Flux Axe on my first trip there! I'm currently dual wielding the axe and Wurmslayer, but the WS is a STA hog, so I'm hoping I'll get one of these whips on my guilds upcoming PoH raid.
Oh, and about rangers, yes they take talent and patience to play well. I started with a gnome necro and actually created my ranger as kinda a 'gopher' to get my necro stuff. Then I found out I loved playing him more. Now I'm 1-2 kills from fabulous 49 and my new spells. =)
So to all you rangers out there wondering if it's worth it, it is. Things have dramatically improved for our class... they aren't perfect yet, and probably never will be, but things have gotten alot better from days old.

i would like to start by saying Hell yea! your view on rangers is exactly the same as mine, and don't worry. verant wants ppl to farm the planes so they'll never put a limit on lvls there. you'll get full TV and both weapons if you want someday.
well. thats my 2cp Avitar <Shadowriders>, 50th ranger of the glade -- fennin
for a ranger or any other dual wielding tank, fast is better than stong to a degree. Since in the later lvls you get bug damages bonuses, even a very low dam weapon can become deadly, especially this one when it hits ever 1.4 seconds, at lvl 29 i could make it hit for a max of 15, just imagine it in the hands of a high lvl.
I don't understand why you people are so negative. Maybe he said something a litle stupid, but do you have to be so **** about everything? You could have just kindly pointed out that the whip was no drop, and sighing at him and calling him a n00b? Please... take some prozac and calm yourselves... It's a game...
It is actually possible! I've seen people who were blue to my 8 paladin alt with an Ethereal Mist BP. Sometimes people get bored of the high end game, so they get a bind near the guards, and kill themselves. A lot. Beyond a lot, they do it till level 5 (the level of the cleric) and start over, and it freaks all of the noobs out. Also i saw a level 47 ranger with epics cuz he stopped playing and let his friend make a bunch of necromancer rez-stones out of him (i think he said 45 or so) but he never cancelled his account, so he didn't lose everything he had. it was cool! =)
Maybe it's just me.... Level 1: You have been slain by a large rat. Level 50: You have been slain by a revulant rat. I find that no matter how hard I try, the rats always seem to kill me.

This whip kicks some major *** for two (can you count that high?) reasons.
First of all, this whip pretty much gaurantees that caste mobs can't get a CH off. You alone can hit a mob 18 times (with an FBSS) when it tries to cast CH. This holds true for other caster mobs - generally, such a fast weapon will interrupt their casting.
Second of all, the 1/3 damage/delay ratio is somewhat ambiguous with this weapon, with it being so fast. At higher levels, you get a damage bonus for each attack made with your main hand. For instance, take the moss covered twig. 3 dmg, 10 delay. Not even the 1/3 dmg/dlay ratio. If that weapon sucked so bad, then why was it nerfed in TWO (once again, can you count that high?) ways... No drop, and more important, off-hand only. In your main hand, this was one of the most damaging weapons in the game. In the offhand (since you get no damage bonus for weapons in your offhand), it's mediocre at best. Simply put, this weapon is damaging simply because of it's speed.
Actually............... hitting with a weapon doesnt interrupt casting.. only stun and certain procs do.... otherwise a mob would never get a spell off
Actually hitting with a weapon can interrupt casting. But at high levels, it seems that mobs have a good chance of regaining concentration when hit with a weapon. And you have to hit the mob at just the right time.. Or else it doesn't do anything.
That is why we Rangers have a lovely little spell called Call of Sky. 35 pt DD/InstaStun that is guaranteed to disrupt any caster trying to get a CH off.
The only problem I see with equipping this speedy little beauty is the agro factor. Sure, he didn't get CH off, but suddenly all attention is focused on me and I develop an inexplicable massive outflux of hit points. This whip is defintely a double edged one since I don't get Jolt for another three levels. Any ideas?
Wait for Jolt. Seriously, that spell has saved my behind a bunch of times. Trying to cast snare...resist...resist...resist...sticks. Mob is all over me (even though I waited until the mob was well taunted, down low on health, etc.). Jolt and lose aggro, if not, jolt again. Just *pray* *pray* *pray* that the cleric somehow isn't next on the aggro list. Only other ways of managing aggro are to A: Stop attacking. B: Back away from the mob, tank trying to get aggro should be closest. C: All else fails try to land a root and get out of striking distance, if root sticks (yay!) you win. If it dosen't stick, you have more aggro, which is a bad thing. If you are on a raid you might just have to eat the death, better that then run all over the place and possibly train the raid group and cause a wipeout. If you can't control your aggro, you gotta bite the bullet and switch to a 2hs or something else slow. Jolt works wonders though. Wish it was unresistable, but that would almost be too much to ask for.
I personally don't have anything against any of the races or classes on everquest (although I do like to have the occasional bowl of gnome stew) but your explanation really gave me a little more respect on rangers and their items. Thanks = )
These rats are wanderers and dont drop any class armor. The rats are really huge, about brown bear size. These rats are EVERYWHERE on PoH and they have a shorter respawn time than the static mobs.
Around how many people does it take to kill one of these? I am a Ranger and plan to eventually get a Revultant Whip, and I am just wondering how tough it is to kill him.
