My IBC Experience
# Oct 22 2001 at 9:04 AM Rating: Decent
I was fighting a badger at loc 187,257 just when the jester popped in! Woot! Anyway, I spent about 8-10 hours camping this (off and on over a few days). My strategy has been to kill everything (skels and badgers) in ALL the stalls and the room just to the south of the above cited location (usually has a few mobs in it).

Camped the IBC on Rallos
# Oct 15 2001 at 9:48 PM Rating: Decent
Me, a 34 chanter, and my friend, a 37 wizard, camped the jester for about four hours on Rallos a couple days ago. We simply killed all npcs in the rooms of the main hallway and the two adjacent hallways (EQ Atlas has a great map for this camp). I could have done the camp by myself very easily, as my weak chanter pet was never below half hp, even though my pet did all the work. The mobs will still aggro you if you are 30+, but you have to get right in their face before they do, and even then there is a few seconds delay before they attack you. Someone level 30+ should not be concerned about accidently over pulling a bunch of greenies here, it will not be a problem.

The jester spawned twice during our camp, once with the club (you can see him wielding it), and the other time he dropped a fine steel 2-handed sword. He does not spawn in any room. He spawned both times in one end of the main hallway (the end closest to the room EQ Atlas claims the jester spawns in). From there he may wander down the main hallway, or turn the corner and wander down the adjacent hallway toward where the cook spawns. I'm not sure how far he wanders or where, as we jumped him almost immediately after he spawned.

Also, this dungeon was mostly empty during our entire camp (at least on Rallos, not sure how how crowded it is on other servers). There were never more than five or six there, and most of the time it was just my friend and I there.

Hope this helps.

Easy Camp

My guild and I got 3 of these in 3 days on the Saryrn server. The first day we camped it we got one in about an hour. Then didnt get any more til the 3rd day, Got 1 and 2 hours later got another. Maybe we are just extremely lucky but we're gonna keep camping them for all the wisdom users in our guild. All we did was keep the cook room and jester room cleared all the time. Extremely easy

My monk was in the tower at level 23... I told everyone I was camping the jester (who everyone wants) even though I was really only there for the fingered skeleton (no loss to anyone other than a monk =/ hehe)... I figure, if he spawns, dandy, I've been here, and if not, no one can complain because they didnt waste time on him

So about 10 minutes before I am gonna log, suddenly this tornado of bone and wood comes screaming down the hall and begins pummeling the bejesus out of me :0) 30 seconds later, the club is mine. When I actually realized it was him and he had the club, I almost orgasmed...well, ok so thats an overstatement but its the same awesome feeling you get when you wait for the glacier bear and you finally see him =) Peace all.

Camped the Jester for a few hours the other day...he spawned and dropped the FS 2HS.

No worries...had fun wasting a ton of furbies and my friend pulled an icy wand off of one after I logged. Probably go back and see if I can find the Jester again...that or see how many Burynai I can get rid of again ;-)

Why does everyone seem to make this in to a hard camp?

To get Jester to Spawn, Kill the Wandering mob wo spawns in the hallway. - False

To get the Jester to spawn, kill the Thick Boned Skele. - False

To get the jester to spawn, the tower must be empty. - False

To get the Jester to spawn, You must kill the cook, fingered, thick boned, and forager in a certain order. - False

To get the jester to spawn, his placeholder who can be anyone in the tower must be killed. - False (found out on a raid where we destroyed everything in the tower, and I was waiting for the spawn)

To get the Jester to spawn you must be in position with everything cleared out of his area at a certain time of the Real Life day. - False

To get the Jester to spawn you must do the same as the one above but at a certain time in the game day. - False

To get the Jester to spawn, You need patience. - True

So realize, it takes patience. It's like the Mace of the Shadowed Soul, Dark Reaver, Soul Leech, or any other uncommon item in the game. Just realize, you camp, your choise. I have hung around looking for Jester too. I just don't spend three weeks looking for him. I would rather be out leveling, having fun. You want it, don't complain about the time it takes to get it. Not worth the 3k it sells for on my server, at least for me. After all, why would an SK want some neg int?

For those who will flame me, know I have gotten 6 clubs from Kurns. It's not because I camp for it. I just come by there occasionaly, and if I see, I kill. If not, I don't stay, get frustrated, go take a leak, grab a beer, come back to my computer to see the Jester killed me with the club, leaving me at my spawn point. I move on to something else. So Farmers, please stop ********* You chose to Farm.

Becasue it is a lore item, somone would have to sell the one they have in order to get another, or let someone else in thier group loot it.

# Jul 27 2001 at 9:20 AM Rating: Decent
Okay, I'm a 17 Shaman on SZ where there probably IS nobody with 10,000 plat just yet, so the price for this puppy would drop dramatically. However, it's the ultimate shaman weapon for someone my level. Everyone can look at the stats and see why, so I'll spare you the argument.

I'm mainly posting so people can hear how he spawned around me, and theorists attempting to puzzle out what makes him pop can add my account to the mix.

We camped at the elbow for a few hours. After having read these posts, I had little hope of even seeing the jester let alone looting the IBM. Our other shaman hit 20 while we were there and he stopped getting xp from some of the kills. Eager to move on, he convinced everyone to move further down the corridor. We all moved to the end of the corridor around the top of the next stairs down, but then changed our minds (at the behest of our monk). We quickly move back to the elbow, and Pop! There he is, smackin' away at our backsides as we return.

So perhaps after clearing out the area (if that's part of it) you need to move through the corridor to convince him to pop? The ol' "a watched pot never boils" thing?

By the way, that was the luckiest loot roll this character has had. ;)

RE: Crusaders

Easiest way is to do the bone chip quest with Trooper Mozo in FoB. He's the trooper on the right side of the entrance to Cab, but be careful. Crusaders also patrol right there. The quest will boost all iksar factions except the Brood (nec faction), but requires a LOT of chips to see a change in faction.
RE: Crusaders
# Jul 24 2001 at 11:07 AM Rating: Decent
ok, i have heard, so correct me if I'm wrong, but you need to turn in 2,000 bone chips for the troopers not to kill you, and 4,000 for them to trade with you, like buying/selling to the merchants and stuff.

it is very easy to do the quest with a monk once you reach lvl 20 and can master sneak. i just go to the pillar near trooper mozo, and sneak up behind him, just close enough so i can give him the chips and not get killed. I have turned in probally around 1,000 now and they still hate me last i checked. but, if you turn in chips, and kill things in the sarnak fort in LOIO, then you get more faction faster than just doing the bone chips quest.

oh, and before i forget, you cannot hand him the chips while FDed, i have tried, and it wont work.

Peace Out

Possibly could take that few bone chips. It depends on race/diety.

For a Dark Elf Rogue following bristlebane, it took 6000. For say, someone following Cazic Thule, it could possibly take ony 2000.

When I was doing the shackle of rock quest which requires me to go in TD and talk to an Iksar Master he wouldn't give me the bag because my faction was too low. I was Amiable to him but it must have been a low-end Amiable. So I decided to try and raise my faction. I shouted to FoB zone that I was paying 5pp per stack of bone chips, I got many offers. I ended up with about 15 stacks of bone chips equaling 300 bone chips. I tried doing the quest again and he gave me the bag! I was happy.

how a monk uses
# Jun 20 2001 at 3:09 AM Rating: Decent
I use it in the off hand (not during a pull of course) especially against casters who do not have a ds up. It gives +20 dex and +15 str proc that works nicely with my trance stick (proc smite) and flying kick. Two delay 18 weapons rock for interrupting spells, and if a chanter throws haste at you..everyone better step back! Try dual attacks every quarter second and its very hard to go back to fists...

A monk throws this puppy in the tinker bag when not using, so who cares about the 8 stones?
KC drop too

# Jun 19 2001 at 11:52 AM Rating: Default
I have been looking up a whole whole lot on monks, asked around a whole lot, and I think that this weapon is just dumb for a monk to even think about using. 8 stones? You wouldnt be able to loot hardly any thing that is half decent. Dunno, I just think that this is a very bad weapon for monks.

Umm if your sta is over 100 the only thing being out of sta means is that you cant jump. That kills me everytime I see that about running out of stamina.

RE: stamina
# Jul 15 2001 at 12:24 AM Rating: Default
Give me a break. You have obviously never played a monk. Stamina is an issues with characters carrying tons of weight (i.e. everyone other then monks, but particulary strong warriors with heavy armor). Monks have to keep weight low for ac purposes and ideally never raise it about mid teens until very high levels. Even if you are at the very high monk weight of 20s or 30s stamina is not an issue (Although AC is bad, but with hate management can be easily addressed in groups).

I am lvl 42 and have never ran out of stamina except just one time when i am rapid fire pulling with SoW in DL for a couple hours non-stop, and then I just sat for at most five second and life was good again, hehe.

At least try playing a monk first if you are going to try to give advice about how to play one. "Such a stupid comment...", "That kills me...", "newbie posting..." Good lord, look in the mirror!

I've just reread my post and I think I am just in a crabby moood. I don't understand the first post when he mentions 100 stamina, and I have not had a problem with stamina personally, although I use wu stick in primary and berserker in secondary. Still, heavy weapons in your arms can drain stamina, as my warrior friends assure me. Regardless, a cleric can invigor you easily if you ask. Like anything else, nothing is perfect and sometimes you have to compensate for an items short commings.

As a monk, I am more concerned with the weight issue than stamina. As I usually group up with guildies, we have a designated looter so I can keep weight down and still come out with some cash at the end of the evening.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 18 2001 at 1:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have sold 2 of these, they are cool but not very good fro the price even if the price is 3K. And they look cool and are rare, but now I see people carrying the 5pp bronze warclubs that look the same as the IBC. These are not as good as many weapons for around 1-3k but many of you will pay much more and then be dissapointed at the good but not great overall damage that they do, even when you still have stamina left. These sold for 10k when the SSOY was 10k, now the sow is 1.2K and thats really what these are worth stat-wise.
