Most of you will either hate me or envy me, or say the person I bought it from was an idiot, but I saw this doing a search for a better weapon than my underfoot defender claymore and when I saw the price I almost fell out of my chair and went running up to the trader with my bank window tagging along. The Price? 500plat :O I just want to say with the damage this thing puts out and with my Pally having dual attack, this weapon will be with me for a long time, hell I'd sleep with it if it wouldn't cut me. Oh and btw at 38th level, and double attack and 2h slash maxed out (for this level), this thing punishes all comers, and it makes me look a tad badass also. Only averaging about 120 a hit, but sometimes up to 150-160 a hit, just imagine with double attack, thats a possible 320 damage in one swing. Awesome in my opinion, when everyone else is putting out 20-40 dmg. Its slow at times, but wow does it damage when it lands. (Can you tell I love this thing)
I saw it on Tunare for 1.5k. I bought it for my pally and its a pretty decent weapon, dealing about 130 dmg on average for a level 45 pally with max 2hs.

umm.. 6kpp? i HIGHLY oubt that, on fennin ro (Farming Ro) where most prices drop a lot from over farming the Worn Shai`Din Naginata is 10kpp id say this is a good 12k
I'm currently a 56th Ranger on Solusek Ro who has this weapon, and at my level, the damage bonus is 30. High hits are in the 230s with Criticals as high as 381 (Combat Fury AA Lv. 1 trained).
This weapon is awesome for damage, and turns heads too.
hmmm lookin at all these new badass 2hs weapons just in this update gets me thinkin that Verant is actually making an effort to actually balance 2hs. Can't wait to get my hands on any of these 3
They have made an effort, but parsing of high end weapons indicates that a lot of the 2-handers actually do more damage than equivelent 1-handers being Dual Wielded. Speaking as a Dual Wielding class, I find this a little disturbing. 2-handed weapons needed to be improved, but one the big points about classes such as Rangers and Rogues is that they sacrificed defensive skills and get Dual Wield, so they do more damage than a Paladin or SK. I am glad they are doing more damage, but when all is said and done, Pallies and SKs just should not out-damage Rangers. Rangers are offensive hybrids: lots of hitting power, not a lot of defense, and Paladin and SK Heavies get compensation for lower damage output in the fact that they can actually take some very respectable licks.
This looks pretty nice, anyways, and I am glad they are putting more of these sort of weps into the game for melees :)
Considering the fact that rangers, as you testified, can't really take the damage they can dish out, you should be thankful that us SKs and Pallys won't have to taunt, beg and chain cast to get a mob off of you once it starts quad tagging you for 200+ per hit - if I had a plat for every dead ranger who I couldn't get aggro off of because he was using two uber fast weapons...
Sorry to say, but as a Ranger, I'm taunting of a Shadow Knight / Paladin because they cannot take the likes they dish out. If I only had a cp for everytime I've see an SK / Pally ran when the mob was snared because of Low hps - or - for each time I've tanked in a group with an SK / Pally present - I might actually have my million k.
Well since Paladins and SK's are 2nd tanks you would hope we can do the damage output so you non-defensive classes don't get hit. As a SK myself in most cases can out taunt any other melee with just my hits which lets me do my job as a tank when a warrior isn't around or when the warrior needs a heal and the healer is in la la land.
The problem with this is that for some reason, Verant never saw fit to give the "defensive" tanks some extra taunting ability per hit to do their job. Thus, defensive tanks have to approach similar damage to the offensive tanks, which of course leaves them rightfully saying "What the heck?! I went through 50+ levels of getting killed by anything that looked at me wrong just to have some warrior with gobs of hps doing the same damage I do!" and that's the case a lot of times, unfortunately. It's not so bad with the Paladins and SK's (unless you're fighting undead, since Paladins pretty much OWN undead), but with warriors, a lot of rangers feel that that kind of damage is just not nessessary for someone with 1.5-2x as many hps.
if u read properly recent patch u d see that ranger for exemple got dam bonuses over lvl 55 and 2hand weapons too so combined it s no surprise or disgusting thing to see 29 as a bonus. So dont fight and let every 1 get a chance to have 1 (mele class) cos it s good for every one Enjoy :D Laiana stormwind newby outrider of bertox.
This drops from Korocust at the interrogation area.
This is his rare drop... he drops a lesser one as his common: Worn Shai'Din Naginata 37 45 ac4 str6 sta6 wis2 int2 wgt5,5. That was NON MAGICAL before the Chardok Item fix... Now that one is magical and lore also, as this one is lore now too.
Here is a picture of this weapon. http://netti.nic.fi/~wrangler/w2hs.jpg

Read the posts in developers corner before posting info on what you think is correct. The post made by a station admin says nothing about level affecting the bonus a 2H weapon receives. The damage bonus was implemented to make 2H more attractive and competitive against dual wielding. If you have to swing an axe that requires 2 hands to lift up to swing using all your body...when it comes down it's going to do some serious damage. More so than just one arm swinging an axe at the same target. The damage bonus compensates for that. The longer the delay the harder it is to weild, therefore more mass and more damage when it hits. This thing has a delay of 46 and a weight of 3...course it is magical so that may account for the weight but the mass will still be enough to split a gnoll pup right down its center line. Im curious to see what the weighted axe will do damage of 45 and delay of 150....
Why is it that my Typhoon Sword of the Tidal wave, which is 30dmg 45dly a few stats and haste only has a bonus dmg of 11? and this which is only 8 dmg more has bounus of 29! anyone have a clue how they caculate this? If so pls tell!
The damage bonuses aren't based on how much the weapon damage is, but on the delay. As you stated, the Typhoon sword has haste, so in truth it doesn't really have a 45 delay. But this weapon is very slow, so they give it a high damage bonus.
The reason that your Typhoon only has a bonus of 11 and this has a bonus of 29 is because of the level difference. The person that got this was probably lvl 60, and you are only lvl 51...when you get to 60, your Typhoon's damage bonus will be in the 20s probably. I.E. -> Damage bonus is based on level (probably some other math in here)
Pls get straight to the point, stop saying this item is good and u want one FFS... Just say where and how u can camp it, its a kewl item and most ppl would prolly want one...
Since the damage bonus only shows for those that can equip the weapon, or use the skill associated with the weapon, I'm willing to bet the bonus is computed based on the weapon itself (dmg/dly), the characters level, and the characters skills (offense and the specific weapon skill: 2hb, 2hs, piercing).
A level 60 with maxed skills is gonna get a bigger bonus than a level 52 with less than maxed skills.
If the damage bonus were a set stat for each weapon, it would show no matter who's holding that weapon.
Chardok is crawling with level 60 players right now. Give it a few weeks, and they will have found and gotten all the loot they want, and then everyone else can get in.
