Confirming that this still drops. Got mine just a few minutes ago (Sept 21, 2020).
Camped it for two days, with 24 spawns - I must have killed BMS just about 18 times. He definitely spawned more often than the PH.

Giving it to my new level 3 paladin named Good, look me up anytime you're on Tunare server :)

I main a Pally on Agnarr and just had this drop last night in Chardok.

I had been using a Yak and had just mentioned to my group that I wish I could find a good one hander.

Thank goodness it was a guild group and no one rolled against me. I think I would have not only uninstalled right then and then but would probably have reformatted my hard drive as well for good measure. ;)

Anyway, the ratio on this is pretty uber in kunark era, and to get it like I did just a couple days after Kunark opened makes it extra sweet.

The proc rate is decent, if a bit streaky at times. It probably does average out to one proc per moderately fast killing exp mob.

Should be really nice if I ever go back to guk for an fbss or smr for an alt. :)

Same camp also dropped a pretty comparable 1hb but with an undead DD instead of a self heal.

And for the record, on agnarr the self heal is definitely 180 pts of health.

Best thing though is the ratio. Getting it this early in the expac means that for a little while I'm hanging with some of the dps classes on the parse. That will only last for a week or two but it's looking like a fun week or two. :)

Also, we were at this camp for well over two entire exp pots and it only dropped once. So if you want one you may have a painfully long camp ahead of you. I'd advising buying rather than camping unless you're there for the exp. Assuming you can find one at a reasonable price.

For what it's worth, Jeldorin was dropping pretty regularly on Phinigel during the Kunark era, even though it was a rarer drop compared to the rest of his loot table.

That said, it is POSSIBLE that his drop table got messed up when the Book of the Righteous was added to it for the new Kunark quests. I assume you were getting him to spawn he was just dropping other loot drops?

No, it begins to proc at level 49. I've added this bit of info to the DB.
Love this!

Hey fellow paladins... I have one of these and love it. No, not the best damage or stats, but you will see a noticeable difference in downtime when soloing, duo'ing or in a group without a healer. Now I don't use this full time, and wouldnt for MT/MA in an Ldon, or planes run, but is perfect for fighting in "regular" xp groups (especially if you are the main healer in that group as well). If the healer is low on mana, i will often switch to this and mix in some Ethereal Cleansings/ Light of life' until they catch up..then its back to the Adjuncts Saber or the WMBS... Enjoy!
Procs ...

procs as normal as any other weapon proc, BUT as I had lower 5%HP, it proced 3 times in a row (with dex 140) and this can't be just luck.

Faction Farming?
# Sep 23 2003 at 12:17 PM Rating: Decent
What is faction farming?

Is it getting up faction so they won't attack you while you take out the named?
RE: Faction Farming?
# Oct 15 2003 at 6:10 AM Rating: Good
No faction farming is getting up faction with sarnak (by killing gobbies) so that you can do sarnak quests. It means you can't kill sarnaks at all :-(

In my opinion, the purpose of getting positive DiZok faction is to kill the named without any trouble. The Spirit Wracked Cord quest is just a major plus and you need ally to recharge your Regal Band of Balthezid, but once that is complete there are still benefits. With max (or just non KoS) Chardok faction you can trivialize many major Chardok encounters and help your friends and guildies. You can solo pull the Herbalist to Chardok B (Necro Epic bottleneck). You can solo camp the Iksar Betrayer with relative ease at 65 depending on class (Monk Epic). You can do your Veeshan's Peak key turn in without drawing a sword. Access to Chardok B is a breeze. If you see a friendly Sarnak holding a Staff of Shielding or equally appealing item you can kindly remove it from his possession with a little “persuasion.” You can even single pull Overking Balthezid to Zin if you are clever (Cleric Epic). The negative DiZok faction hits are minimal and you can easily get them back by camping Droga or Chardok B for a few hours which is also decent exp. Don’t forget that quests really do make this game more fun. Go getem!!

If you zoom in, you can get some detail from it.

I have used this weapon since my mid-40's. I think it started to proc around 50.

With an RBB and some cast haste (even Valor of Marr), I think I max out the haste on it and swing so frequently that casters rarely can get a spell off (those that do tend to get bashed, too).

Clerics think hunting with me is boring, they have little to heal. I have seen this sword proc 10 times on a single pull (multiple MOBs). 10 x 180pts is a LOT of heals!

No, it procs regardless of my current HP, I have seen it try to heal me at 100%, but no matter. The ones I appreciate most are the ones that save my short butt and this sword certainly HAS saved it MANY times over.

I gave up my epic quest primarily because of this sword. It keeps me alive, it holds aggro pretty decently (when combined with strategic stuns), it does a fair amount of damage (tho my job is to keep MOBs off a caster while *they* kill the MOBs).

While I might trade in this sword later for some uber planar sword, it will be awhile.

It is a cool looking sword. Has a gold pommel a brown handle and a golden hilt with a red inlaid gem. The blade is silver with 4 runes etched on each side. The blade is long and pretty wide too. The blade flares out slightly from the hilt and narrows to a point at the top. It's the same graphic as the sword of the bloodsworn but with a red gem instead of a green one and slightly different blade decoration. The earlier message with the link to the picture of the Jeldorin on their magelo account never worked for me, so I figured I could post a description.
Edit: Finally found a picture and here's a link =)

Hey guys I got this sword a few days ago and I figgured that witha enchanter hasteing and casting boon of the gyru on me I would get alot of procs. We we non stop pulling for 3 hours I only had to heal once when I pulled 3 and he was slow to mez. The sword was procing about 12 times a fight at the POJ exit. Against tougher mobs like POD mobs I get about 8 procs a fight. I might be lucky but this sword seems to proc alot when your low hp's. It has saved me 3 times already. Luv it, by by windblade.
RE: Duoing
# Aug 28 2003 at 11:15 AM Rating: Decent
Procing doesn't have anything to do with low hp. Proc depends on your DEX, and on the random number generator from there.

I just got this handed down to me by a generous Guildmate that is about 10 levels above me - I am 46 now. I gave back to the guild my Sword of Morning. Even though the sword doesn't proc for me now, It's still a good 1hs.
# Oct 25 2002 at 12:32 PM Rating: Decent
I have this sword on my Paly right now... and for every single person that says 180 hp heal isnt much you are looking at it ALL wrong.

180 heal = 180 MORE hp and we ALL KNOW that more hp is what everyone needs. the only time its not more hp is when u r full health

whether u have a cleric healing you or not 180hp heal during a fight is the SAME as the sword adding 230 (180 +50) hp to your life for that fight

If you say i am wrong then i will say take off every piece of gear that gives u hp / sta ... why you ask? cause u got a cleric healing you remember? you dont need hp the cleric will heal u when u get low... dont be dumb it procs often with good dex and whether solo or grouped this weapon is godlike (notice LIKE, epic still better as well as ToV weapon drops and luclin uber weapons)

AA Abilities w/ Jeldorin

From what I've read, Healing Adept and Healing Gift affect the Knight's Blessing effect on Jeldorin. For the benefit of any who may be interested, I calculated out the numbers associated with AA abilities combined with Jeldorin's effect.

Knight's Blessing normally triggers for a maximum of 180 (was 162 prior to the removal of the paladin's healing penalty).

With Healing Adept 1, that 180 would become 183.6 (don't know if they round normally, always up, or always down...)

With Healing Adept 2, it would be 189.

With Healing Adept 3, it would be 198.

Throw in Healing Gift, and it has a 2, 6, or 10 percent chance (depending on what level of Healing Gift you have) of it healing for double the value. Thus, if one had Healing Adept 3 and Healing Gift triggered with Knight's Blessing, the heal would be for 396.

I hope this information is of some use to someone. For me, it shows how Jeldorin has the potential to grow in power as the character wielding it grows in power.

I have HA1 at this time.
It does 183. Crits for 366.
Will be nice to get both skills up to 3.

Proc Rate
# Sep 18 2002 at 10:09 PM Rating: Decent

I just bought one of these tonight. Very nice weapon, with nice stats for a melee character. While not a huge upgrade, it is outperforming my previous one-hander (a Goo Covered Knights Blade).

Getting to the point, Instrument of Nife triggers nearly twice as often as the weapon. Divine Might, on the other hand, seems to trigger at about the same rate as the weapon. For me, that equates to one or two procs per blue kill on average, though you'll occasionally see entire fights with no procs. Then again, it triggered five times on a green once, too.

Don't count on the proc to keep you alive, but you'll be pleased with the heals when they come.

Maybe this is farther down and I just didn't see it, but I noticed tonight that it doesn't always proc for the full value. I had several procs for 22 points of healing and one for forty-something.

*EDIT* - Now that I've tested some more, I've come to realize that the only time is shows less than 180 is when I was missing less than 180 hp. In other words, it works like a normal heal, displaying how much it healed you for rather than showing how much it *could* have done.

Sorry bud. Proc rate is indeed a function of the individual weapon. And no, weapon delay does not affect proc rates, which are coded as procs over time. Test it sometime. Get hasted and you'll see that you'll have the same average procs over the test time and thus lower number of procs per swing. Get slowed and you'll see higher.
RE: why so many stupid melees?
# Nov 04 2002 at 2:32 AM Rating: Decent
Yes I do believe that items can have different proc rates, isn't that why they increased the proc rate on the new cleric's summoned hammer over the old one?
RE: why so many stupid melees?
# Sep 10 2002 at 1:13 PM Rating: Excellent
Actually you are quite wrong there. There are weapons that inherently *Proc* more than others.

I have tested this myself...

as have others.

Lets take for instance Warrior Epic verses Say Wavecrasher.

WaveCrasher has a lower dly than epic 19 vrs 24

So by your statement Warrior Epic would proc less than wavecrasher on an average. Now lets take this into affect. with full buffs at a guild raid. My dex is 255. No matter which of these two weapons I use. Warrior epic procs an average of 8 to 10 times on a west wing ToV mob. (yes against reds its always resisted)

Wavecrasher on the other hand procs an average of 2 to 3 times a fight.

Quite a big difference for a lower dly weapon wouldnt you say?

Also just recently they added the new Cleric summoned hammer. and they stated very clearly that this will proc more.

They can control how often a weapon procs, and they obviously do it they just dont tell us about it most of the time.

One last bit of info .. back when they worked on the 2 handed weapons.. I could be wrong but I think I remember them saying that they were going to *UP* the proc rating on these weapons so that they would proc more. I could be wrong about that tho.

Ok, after much observation, i've noted that this wpn is extremely useful and very fun. 19 dam 24 del is excellent, especially when you have VoG and a nice haste item, like RBG/SoDB. Also, the sta and hp buffs are great for hybrids, as well as the proc.. AHH yes, the proc.. the main controversy around this wpn.. Ok let me say that it DOES PROC MORE THAN ONCE a fight. I have one on Solusek Ro, and i prefer to use it over Reaver when soloing. In one fight in Lguk, it proc'd 6x. healing me for a good 1000hp, and kept me alive witout loosing 1/2 a bub hp. The wpn is even better with Divine Might.. but that is beside the point.. I dont regret anything about this wpn.. In fact, i traded Massive Dragonclaw Shard for it.. I'm very pleased

Still noone can say what level this procs at, my Paladin is level 37 and I bought this for him, says will is insufficient, so what is proc level? Anyone? I´m guessing 50
RE: What is Proc level
# Sep 21 2002 at 9:12 AM Rating: Decent
This weapon will Proc at level 49. Also, Batllemaster Ska'tu was holding the sword when we took him down. All in all it is a great weapon, the Proc however will heal for varying amounts, but mostly the full 180. And the healing proc does not get any benefits from improved healing II, not sure about improved healing III. I hope this helps anyone out who wanted to know any of these things. Good Luck to anyone trying to get this. It is an awesome weapon with an awesome graphic, that for me (level 49) hit regularily in the 40s and alot of 60s-70s. Thanks for lettin me ramble on hehe
