I WANTED TO REPLACE MY BORROWED CENTI SHORTSWORD. MY LVL 13 SK DIDNT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE -EXCEPT FOR STATS ON CENTI. THE SWORD HAS KEWL GRAPHIC, ALMOST LIKE VELIUM (TRANSLUCENT).

Centi Shortsword has a MUCH better ratio than this. 12 damage, but only 25 delay. Plus it has the stats.
However, this isn't a bad weapon, and I remember the days when this was considered an AWESOME weapon.
Depending on the prices on your server 105pp for this might be a decent deal.
BTW, if you really like the big damage, slower delay weapons, check out the centi warHAMMER.
Course, as an SK, you probably should get a Mace of the Shadowed Soul (MoSS).

WELL SAID XAANRU, --HERES WHERE TAKING ADVICE FROM YOUR ELDERS PAYS OFF. I PICKED UP MACE OF SHADOWED SOUL AND A DARK EDGED 2 HANDER AT MY BAZ ON 7TH HAMMER BOTH FOR UNDER 150PP TOTAL.I AM TOTALLY HAPPY WITH BOTH WEAPONS.

I bought this sword at lvl 35 for 300p and used it till about the low 40's (because I had capped my 1hs skill) and began to use other types of weapons, but when I was using it, it was a great sword to have. Did about 40+ dmg w/ it at around lvl 37-40, and I'm sure, from the increased DMG bonus from lvling, its even better now.

This weapon is a nice sword for people that are lower than 20, mainly because it is a good, flashy =) Lookin sword. My sk had this weapon for atleast 10 levels and loved it. But he eventually needed to do the damage the group needed so he bought the Sporali Defender's Blade.

Well for myself as a paladan level 17 this is a great sword, I bought this sword and was quite happy with how quick it was.(had a blade of passage before it). The day after I bought it a guild member gave me a ebony razor, Although the ebony razor sells for 3 times as much on my server I found that this blade killed much faster and I took much less damage and spent much less times chasing things running from me. In my opinion at 150pp its the best buy ive found in the game so far

Well I was one of those that started doing the GB quest and found out it was broken. When they fixed the quest, they also made the GB No-Drop. So much for trying to get one for my Paladin twink. However, when I was in CC, I picked up one of these from a Drachnid Retainer. I gave it to my Paly and am very happy with it. Sure I want to get the GB when my Paly's high enough, but for now, the Crystalized Blade is good enough.
this sword is NOT as good as you all think. currently, these go for 100-200p on brell. i bought one for 125, only to sell it 2 days later for a sporali defender's blade-17/37 1hs. so, for 75p, you get 6 more dmg/dly. sporali blades go for 200p. this sword looks cool, but thats about it.

I'm not sure why im posting this cause it has nothing to do with Crystalline Blade, and the people that were talking about it posted in February, but about pallys and wurmys....
If you're a pally, don't waste your money. Wurmslayers are NOT good for you hehe... the only way it would be a good weapon would be if you had an FBSS.... But the thing is, if you have an FBSS, buy an argent defender or something, it will be so much better and it's cheaper. Also, if you DON'T have FBSS... a better combo would be a mith 2 hander. This sword rocks... it truly does. If your really want a wurmy for some reason, go ahead and get it, but i don't suggest it. In my opinion, wurmys were created for Duel Weilders. WEll that's my 2 cents.

Ok first, yea wrong weapon, second Wurmy is a 1 hand slash, Argent defender is a 2 hand slash, Wurmy goes for 1K Argent Defender... 4K, I think your on crack, no I mean that in a nice way tho. Wurmslayer is a nice 1 hand slash, some pally's and SK's like to use sheilds, so they need one hand slashers. Now go do your homework.

Hiya, im not putting this weapon down... that much... but it's not that great. I hear people say they got it for 100-200pp, but that's not good hehe. Well, it's not good for a pally or SK cause they can't duel weild. (Not that it's a BAD weapon, but it's not GOOD) A much better suggestion would be Axe of the Iron back. this axe has dmg 16 dly 32 (im 99% sure that's right, correct me if im wrong) but anyways, that only goes for 50pp!!! (at the max on Drinal server) Then when you get your dmg cap off at 20, buy a BABS or something. Crystalline Blade costs too much for being pally or SK only. that's all i have to say
I'm lvl 50 and I still have this weapon... main reason... I can't easily find anything better for my 1HS (Iksar SK)... I don't want to pay 10k for a Noct Blade, and I have other weapons and weapon skills I focus on and can do better damage with. For a Pally/SK with a good shield, this is actually a very good weapon, if not simply to raise 1HS... especially since the Ghoulbane is now NO DROP.
Of course it isn't GREAT, but for the lvl attainable, the cost, or the rarity, it is a very nice and fairly priced weapon.
Besides, it's got a cool looking hilt, and has the transparent look like the Velium weapons... =)

You may be right on the its a good weapon, not a great weapon part, but as an earlier
post you are comparing apples and oranges 1hs and 2hs.

A druid friend and myself were hunting the spider hall and this nice item dropped from a Drachnid Retainer. This was 2 days after Thanksgiving.

I was at level 10 hunting in the karanas. Just out of the blue someone asked me if I wanted to buy a magic weapon for a 100pp. At the time I was using tarnished long sword, which slashed for 9-11 hps. Now with the crystallized blade I am slashing for 11 - 27 hps. The point is, yes there are better weapons out there, but an up grade like this is so much better then what I was using and for the price I got it, well I am on a happy kill spree now. So anyone in the lower levels that can get there hands on this weapon GO for it, its worth it.

and its gut the proc
but even without the proc ( fightin anything not undead) GB is still a beter wepon
BUT unlike the insane prices listed here( 200pp for a GB LOL) GB goes for 1k on my server
every server has its own economy so if your gunna quote prices please include your Server name
GB is STILL 1k solid average Price on Tarrew Marr
once ina while you can get one for 800 or maybe 600 from a friend, or some people try to push 1200pp from ya (leaches) but 1k average
Either way i earned my GB, ***** spendin money on it, i made money and Exp while tryin to get it HEHE, procs from 150-198 max dependin on yer lvl

Ghoulbane is still going for about 1k on the E'Ci server as well... which is funny considering it's one of the older servers.
If you can get a thousand for it ...sell it and redo quest.
You can get GB for 250-400pp on Druz-Ro. I sold mine again to help pay for mithril 2hander...then did quest again less than a week later.
Nice sword and now much easier to get.

Wow still 1k on Tarre Marr. Now that it can be quested the price has dropped dramatically since there is no guk camp involved. Price on veeshan before it was questable was abou 800p nows its about 400pp on the very high end. you can see them auctioned consistantly for around 350pp to 250pp
The stats on this site for ghoulbane are right... 15/34! Not, 13 or 14, but 15 damage. And has Dismiss undead effect, which none of the other swords here mention, i'd like to see a crystalline sword hit for 180hp. Problem is GB weighs 9stones! Crystal sword only 4!!! After killing a Crazed Ghoul in unrest at level 22, my stamina drops a lot less than with a ghoulbane (which i dont have yet but borrowed). But with a ghoulbane, crazed ghoul dies so much quicker, specially if it procs! Ouch! Its like Ward Unded times 4!

i love to peruse old threads. especially pre PoP era. gives me a warm fuzzy for the way the game used to be, and reminds me of what peeps can accomplish in game if they put their nose to the grindstone. this post is a prime example, here we have Lam drooling over the Ghoulbane that he cant even afford to get yet, has to borrow it. then you click on his magelo link and hes an 11kHP 2750AC Pally. awesome =) Cong Lam, maybe you can get your GB soon ^^ lmao.
Look...since Ghoulbane is now a questable item, the value of this sword should drop significantly.
GB is a 14-34 weapon I believe with a 2.22 ratio. Quest is very easy to accomplish by a nice group of 25ish player. Two lvl 30 can do alone. You can prob. purchase GB at 250-300pp..some will advertise 500pp..but wait for the price.
Save the plat and get the bane.

I bought one of these for my SK (at level 1, which kind of makes me one of those evil twinkers) and it allowed me to almost consistantly solo reds and yellows up until 12, whereupon I can't take reds, but made leveling real real fast.

I use have recently bought this for my lvl 11 (10 at the time) pally. this wepon works verry well for lower lvl pallys becase the damage cap. this wepon inforces the highest damage under the cap at a fast rate. I am waighting for the cap to come off then i am going to use a 2h wepon becase there are not very many good sheilds out there espacaly if you consider the price.

Someone just gave this blade to my Paladin in Large Orc Camp, and I love this blade, In my STR 107, I can hit at 27 hp a time!

I just upgraded from a balanced Shan'Tok to this, and if you know both of the swords well than you will agree with me that you think the charector is diffrent the iksar that i got it from wanted 200pp fir it but i offered 180 and got it and i love it great for a lvl 13 :)

I was saving up for this weapon for a long time. Then a lvl 54 auctioned it for 150pp! I grabbed it right away and it works great. I am a 19 pal and i hit about 30 on a good swing. Good look also, simular to frozen long sword, but blade is translucent.

I just got mine for 500pp (on Brell Seris). This sword is not bad for me being level 19. With STR of about 110 I can hit for 27HP. Not bad at all...
