They probably aggro because you're evil :) My 37 enchanter w/my 42 bard friend beat the crap out of him for entertainment. I think Anarchy (282 damage or soemthing) dropped him about 23 percent and was the killing blow. he's just really annoying, and thus deserves to die.
Rathyl is 25 or so and as soon as he dies a level 30 or so mob spawns from his corpse. He was an easy enough kill for my Mage at level 35 with a Monster Summoning fire pet, but an SK might have trouble at that level.
I'm a level 41 paladin and this guy is cake, but one of the reasons he's so easy is because the nearby magicians don't aggro at 41. If you are a 36 SK and you have your pet up, I'm almost positive that those mages would aggro onto your pet. If you are comfortable soloing 3 MOBs without your pet (Rathyl, his pet, and his undead reincarnation), then first check to see if the magicians aggro you. If they do, Rathyl will be a tough solo fight.
They didn't aggro on my 41 pally either. I wouldn't go and rub their heads during the combat, but they won't pull into the room like they might at earlier levels. Or perhaps it's just my 55 charisma that keeps them away.
I hate to state the obvious but whenever you put an item in a backpack that is No Drop...the whole pack becomes No Drop until you remove the item. I hope this helps you.
Is it possible for a 30 ranger to go to najena and camp this guy by myself? The puches and packs could be useful and would probably sell pretty well :).
I camped this guy for 20+ SOLID hours and only got 5 pouches and 6 breacers... Is it really that rare or do I just have the worst luck in the game? P.S. If anybody is selling the Traveler's pack on the Innoruuk server send me a tell!!!!
During the Gm event where najena was an alternate najena and rubicite dropped, a magician friend an I could only get into the area of rathyl and like one or two mages who might drop rubicite.
Other areas were much better for getting the rubicte I guess, but we really lucked out in another way (all we got all that night was a rubicite bracer each as far as rubicte, I still have one as a memento):
Every time rathyl was up he had the travelers pack, which is normally quite rare. Previous to najena alt and after he only dropped the hollowed bone bracers for me.
Every, single time during it he dropped this pack. As you notice, they are not lore. The mage and I each got 2 of them in the few hours we spent there. We would have got more but part of najena alt was that rathyl could spawn or a mage ph of some kind.
Kinda funny we came for rubicite and ended up getting several of these rare packs instead.

In addition, this is not the name of the item given by the Nillipus quest... I know because I recently got the Pierce's Pouch of Storing from doing the quest... it's a 8-slot, 20% reduction backpack, as mentioned elsewhere on this site.
I'm not sure if the Traveller's pack is still granted by the Nillipus quest, (since there are so many potential rewards), but would be interested in hearing if anyone has been rewarded one lately by this quest... the chances of a quest giving two very similar weight-reducing items seems unlikely. (It seems like the pouch may have simply replaced the pack in the reward-list).
I did the quest (Nillipus/jum/RV) several times within the month of March, 2001. Three times I was rewarded with an item. The items were a Runner's Ring, the pack (8 slot, 20 % reduction), and the pouch (6 slot, 20% reduction). Gave the pouch to a friend. =)
You are right...but the two pouches are different...and all you have to do to get the pouch or pack from Najena is Kill Rathyl...who is blue to level 34...and has a reincarnation spawn upon his death and a pet....It's lots of fun hehehe and the drop is random
