ykesha, as do all the associated gem rewards for these quests....
Our notation is a bit confusing. For items, showing the expansion generally means that expansion is required to obtain the item. For quests, it's just a guide to when the quest was introduced. Unless there's some point in the quest series that requires you to journey through an Ykesha zone, these aren't Ykesha-required items.
Hmm I mainly say that because on progression server then npc do not show up until ykesha is released lol.
And yes I'm a database junkie lolol.

There's no way in hell we're going to edit tens of thousands of items just because there are suddenly new progression servers, any more than we've maintained separate lists of what's available on vanilla servers vs. Firiona Vie vs. Zek vs. Al'Kabor, etc. Our backlog's just too huge and it isn't worth the effort.
Yes, you can MQ this now for all classes, regardless of what yours is. How? By shrouding, of course!
I shrouded my 70 RNG to a 70 CLR - snagged the pieces out of the bank, and MQ'd them for my wife's cleric - it worked perfectly. Now my wife's CLR has her 3rd Gem (going for 4th) as does my level 10 cleric bazaar trader.
I have the pieces for gem1 and gem2 for INT casters - going to MQ that for my 21 ENC. Gem3 to come soon, of course.
Why? Giggles, of course. With shrouding I can get some use out of this stuff that would normally rot while I waste my time at various camps in PoHate while I'm working from home as a system admin (hooray for telecommuting).
And with the changes coming up involving rest states, who needs FT? (I know, I know, everyone, but still...). Just need three books to change it to Gem4 (have 1 so far, well, two, but they're the same one. Need 4 more to be able to get both cleric's gem3's updated).
MQ'ed the whole thing for my level 1 necro. Also got him the wand of musing, the robe from the burrower beast in the deep, and the ring of the shissar. This was one uber level 1 toon. Taught him all languages, threw in the language charm item, plus verious other gears I had saved up. Was about to go back to the tutorial and tank, but decided to do the slipgear gem quest for one last twink. I got it all sub quests done, hailed Bellfast, then one uber long ding and flashing lights... I made it to level 12 from 1... there went the glooming deep idea =\
Could be XP was slightly nerfed from when I did the quest. Just did the quest again on a human chanter, but this time starting from level 6 just about to 7. He only made it to level 12. But still, if you manage to complete the slipgear gem quest in the ******* levels, it is still a lot of XP. Far more then you will get grouping for the 1 1/2 it takes to complete it.
Thats besides the point tho. This is still a nice twink item =)
I can't help but think the developers at Sony were high when they mapped out this quest...
1) Rangers won't do this quest because its a range item, possibly not even warriors as frequently as they use a bow.
2) A rogue won't ever complete the 4th because 15atk is better than 3 regen and spell haste 4...
3) Unless you are capped in mana regen, would you rather have the regen 3 of the 4th, or the mana regen 3 of the 3rd?
4) What is with the **** poor drop rate of the crest for the 2nd priest marsinger. I've killed probably 2-300 priests over the last year and never seen one. Yet the other classes I've seen them rot enough.
The 4th marsinger should've been different for each of the class types as the other 3 had been. For example
i personally couldnt care less about the hp regen, but im a cleric. if i was a war and soloed, it would be the other way around. but ive found that with the lack of good groups and the fact that i chose a class that doesnt make the best of soloers (with my kind of gear), i need the ft more than anything. only have ft1 from the earring of the solstice. and im working on the last aa for the mental clarity. so, right now i have 4pts of mana regen w/o the use of yaulp if i stand. if the tank gets an add....lol, im dead even with hp regen. but if i had the ft and was low on mana, i could regen enough to heal the MT and he could kill the mobs with the fresh hp bar and drag my corpse to the zone line. cant do that with the hp regen. IMHO i just think they should have at least given us the option of ft or hp regen. it lumps everyone together and takes away the individualism. in that case who gives a crap about anytype of roleplay or characterization? but thats just me and few listen to the newbie armored 62cleric lol...
I like my Reflective Orb of Energy more and it isn't a long Quest nor do you have to kill any boss mobs or gods or whatever. Drops from common mobs in KT. A cragbeast for example. We lvled there some hours and got 3 of them, so it isn't even that rare. And it is all/all
It comes down to sacrificing 1 AC (which the +15 AGI would more than make up for), 5 sta (which the extra hp would make up for) and all of the magic resist this gives you for the extra regen, dmg shield, end, and resists on all BUT magic hehe... yeah orb comes out on top, but this is a good gem until you hit 65
When I started EQ in Feb 2000 the game moved at a snails pace. Yea the gear sucked and I was so stoked when Kunark came out. It seemed to me back then about a Year later Velious came out. Better Gear,Bonus Party !
TIME WARPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP ahead 7 expansions to the present. I feel like I am upgrading my gear every week. Gear I use to covet is now worn by my level 5 Tradeskill Mule because I cannot give it away and the Tribute value is not worth the trip. Folks ask me if I am Keyed for GoD yet. Hell Im still working on my SoL and PoP Keys and Flags. I have Freaking Shards coming out of my ****** was looking in those Deluxe Toolboxes in the Stuff to Save section of my Bank Acct. and realized the Save crap is half of my Bank Space! When did this game go from Sub Light speed to Warp 9 and how the hell do we apply the brakes to slow things down a bit? I know that even you hardcore futhermuckers got to be feeling the Arms Race , weekly gear replace with haste , Monty Hall Burnout !
How am I going to handle EQ game in the fast lane you ask? I'll tell you how. I am going to put my Ceramic Shield of Valor up for sale even though it seems like I just got it yesterday. Then I am going to put the FT-3 Gem in it's place. It sure is a long way from that silly resistance pottery range totem I use to cook up and sell for phat lewt back in the day but I think I can cope :)
Hey I figured a lil trip through time is what all you folks needed to get that warm and fuzzy feeling back. Enjoy whichever jem you pick because Im sure it will be obsolete before you can say "Are you keyed for Space Travel on the Koada'Dal Spacejammer Yacht bro?"
I'm glad you're some chump's hero, but this weeny "sony is evil for leaving me behind" crap is retarded. All that beloved content you were reminiscing about...guess what, it's all still there. Go enjoy it. Have fun doing the same thing you've done for the past 5+ years. Take pride in questing a full set of crafted armor. But seriously, there is content for everyone. Everyone. EQ has gone in excellent directions. Sure, the economy is a bit out of control, but that's all i can come up with. If you've experienced any of the higher end scripted events, you might learn that the story, the background, the whole game actually culminates into a wonderful picture. But I guess you'd say otherwise, because you read all the content from some spoiler, didn't you? Grow up and enjoy all the discarded loot of those that surpass you. I bet you never stopped and realized that they worked to get where they are when you were comparing how hard you work to get where you are. Woe is me... shut up and play the g.d. game, or don't play the game. I'm sure you don't pay 13 a month to whine on some lost forum. I know I don't.
I'll tell you all whats with this game its called money. They want more and more so they make expantions back to back left and right. I played this game way back in 1999 and 2000 and It was fun and cool to hang with friends online then now its go go go opps I didn't make it on today what you mean im a level behind you now. Arg you got what key how am I sapose to get there. Or better yet hey look at me I just got this +300 hp 30 ac item of a monster you can't even get to see yet cause you not flagged but hey have fun working up to it. I rember when you heard the ding it ment something now it just means you got 67 more to go thanks to new expantion. In old days getting level 12 was awsome now getting level 60 is good but 65 is better and ofcoarse 68 is the best for this month. I can rember when people actualy used to hunt dwarf guards for exp cause it was good now its like oh why bother they don't give anything I can't buy or can't find elsewhere on easyer or more plentyful monsters. Don't get me wrong the expantions are great ofcoarse I own them all but when I look back on my armor it was cool for so long now its like a old car time to crush it and throw it away cause they replace it every 6 hours with something new. I rember when doing quests used to give the best stuff in game now its all about what you can kill not what you can figure out or do as a team. I long for old days sure the quests took hours and even days on end but when you completed it even if the item wasn't the best thing you could find it was worth the time to say see look what I got. Now people respond with oh wow my item is 3 times that good and im 1/3rd your level how pathetic are you. :( Someone please put up a few big planets infront of this light speed spaceship to atleast drop us from warp 9 to warp 7 atleast I wish we could go back to warp -1 show some this people what real roleplaying is about.
When I first started playing EQ(1999) it seemed to be geared mainly for adults. The kids played UO or some other PvP-happy game. But ever since Sony took over, the game seems to have shifted,so they're trying to get more kids into it. Most kids are impatient and rude.(Not all, just most) I rarely ever heard "/ooc Can someone give me money for spells or better equipment?" back in '99/'01. Now,I hear it(or similar) EVERY day!! Many kids don't bother to work for what they want. Unfortunately,if EQ2 is popular enough,EQ's days are numbered, because many adults have left and the kids aren't going to stay when their friends tell them "EQ sucks" because they play some other on-line game. Sony will go where the money is. The only legitimate problem I have with EQ is the snotty attitude Sony has with forcing players to group. Just because it's a community game doesn't mean we should be forced to group just to get anywhere. Role-playing is about playing characters like an actor in a movie. How can we be lone-wolves if we have to group with other characters(especially mixing hated races/classes)?? Many times I've had to group with Ogres/Trolls because there weren't other dwarves/elves near my level to group with. I(a dwarf) am a hated enemy of Ogres/Trolls. But it's nearly impossible to solo in the game, unless you're twinked up the whazoo or have a high-level nearby buffing/healing you. Sony needs to go back to allowing players to solo, and shove their 'forced-grouping' up their whazoos! And their Task system is a joke. It was a good idea, but poorly implemented. Travelling all the way across the world to complete a "short" Task is moronic. Sorry for PMSing . I approve this message :-)
First of all, what the heck does this have to do with the Marsinger quests? These are actually still pretty awesome items for the level you attain them...
I do agree with you about the grouping situation however. The hours that I get to play are pretty weird, so I can almost never find a group. I was playing a Mage for a long time and found it nearly impossible to get anywhere soloing anything higher than light blues. However, now I've switched to a Necro, and the leveling is going a lot better. I think an unfair emphasis is placed on DoT capable classes, or classes that have more Mob-control than others - IE necro/druid/sham on the DoT side of things, Chanter/Wiz/Bard on the DoT control side of things. Other than that, it's very hard to solo unless you are very keen on what you're doing and you have a tight game plan on where and when you solo. It's all a time-sink though, so I can't blame SOE for making it hard.

I think Pop, adn God is really giving away alot with 200hp items, resist of 20 adn 30 per, druids with 305 stats, that arn't wisdom, 8k hps adn 7k mana is just unbeleivable, yeah these are gods they are fighting but. and things better then gods? I think the devs adn SoE need to look back at the old game and maybe make en expansion that fixes all the screwd up quests, or maybe adds more to the content already there, instead of more, bigger badder content
/agree I say you find a character you like to play and join the roleplaying server because it isn't worth it to make an alt unless you feel like being 2 expansions behind.
Way funny post man I concur. While i love the new places and the neat things i just wanna play the game, and every time i look now lol, i am behind. Behind on planes keys, time for an upgrade, time for more ac, time for more hp. What 40000 hp is low AAACk!!
Hold up on the expansions, im also holder of only keys i can get in a single week of play. I have one set of good weapons and thats it. I dont even play my cleric cause i hate him, and he doesnt have ft10 and ubbaa doooba wis gear. I agree completely with what ur saying who ahh !! to ya and carry on .
I agree it was funny, but I also have to agree to the fact that things are moving at a high rate of speed. So fast in fact that 1 week something to be sold is worth a crapload and the next as you said you cant even give it away to a noobie. Best thing I can suggest is just go at the pace you want and enjoy the game. And if someone does'nt want you because you don't have a certain spell or you get to the plane or zone due to keys then oh well, it will come all in due time and probably when you least expect it. Life and itshappenings are all about timing my friend. Make the best of it while you can, enjoy and don't look for something to come to you or you chase it down, it will just be there when its time. I will say this though, that gem will be mine in good time.

Ok, Stacking is very simple. Most effects the cap is 50% an Effect example is: spell haste. Ok you cannot haste a spell more the 1/2 of it's basic cast time. Yet on that same spell you could increase Damage to 50% more or if buff Extend the Duration to 50%, adding in an Extended Range max of 20% since cannot stack extended ranges nor is there any AA's to improve this Druzils Distance is the effect I believe otherwise Extended Range is only 15%. Artulyn - Sage was correct. Just didn't explain himself very clearly. He was stating that the stacking of 1 perticular type of foci couldn't be improved past 50% by Items. Granted Item and Spells, and some songs will stack. But there appears to still be a 50% limit. He wasn't saying you can't have Mana Pres/Pres of Xegony, Spell Haste/Mithan..quickening, Reagent Conservation/Jedadias Conservation; Extended Range/Druzils Distance, Burning Affliction/Improved Damage/Extended Enhancement on a spell granted the last choices depend on the spell... DoT, DD, Buff (Also if you have a specific like mana pres vs summoning effeciency, or Improved Dmg vs Ecoli the highest Item modifier will work) see Bollwerk's post. Summary: Per focus 50% cap Spells can use more then 1 focus Effect. Let's look at 1 spell. Levitate: batwing version Spell Haste, Extendeded Enhancement, Mana Pres, Reagent Conservation, Extended Rang, Clr Spell haste buff, AA's for spell haste, Mastery of Past, Extended Duration, etc. All will stack but with a 50% limit on each individual effect. So 50% Haste (ask a wizard/DRU with thier quick evac AA's and spell haste with or w/o spell haste same duration 50% cap, 70% extended (only apparent exception), 50% mana pres (best I've seen is 45%), Chance of not using reagent, 20 or 25% range (nothing else extends range). Of course SOE would cap damage imagine wizards doing 75% more damage 7.5k on one cast... 6 wizzys 45k Damage... even now 5k ... 6 wizzys 30k so they've gotta keep the balance. Hope this post clears up any concerns.

Posted:Mar 28 2004 at 11:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok guys the 3rd stone does not have FT3 it has vengance 3. so once i hit 46 im coming into hate with my guild and getting this.
i hate to break it to you... but these items are not the same...
Close, but not exact...
As they pointed out eariler, the secrets of the planes can be used in secondary, it adds to dex (this one doesn't) mana, hp, and saves are the same (except svm) other stats are different... AND the secrets gives +5% dodge
personally i would take this one over the secrets of the planes in range any day, but secrets can be in secondary... so unless you find somthing better for your secondary (good luck, not much out there) use both!
Conservation of Solusek is a mana preservation effect (on detrimental spells), not spell haste. And the SotP is a secondary/range item. So for damage casters, they complement each other quite well.
As a SK the spells I'm casting in combat would not benefit from the spell haste IV due to the 3 second or longer casting time. Only spells I have that take that long to cast are buffs and pet summons which I tend not to do in combat :). Also, the secrets of the planes has a 5% dodge modifier to it. So personally, I'm going after that one...
Generally - items of the same TYPE -( ie: Mana pres, Spell Haste, Imprv Dmg.) will NOT stack with each other -- the Single Highest bonus will apply.. Fury of Ro & Fury of Ec'i will both work, but ONLY on the spcific spells to which they apply ( Ro on ONLY Fire, and EC'i on ONLY Ice based spells), and ID4 will not add ontop of these either, as Fury has a higher % than the normal ID Effect. ( which is +20%, for ID4) - same goes for mana pres.. if you have 1 effect that gives -20% mana used, and one that gives -35% mana used. ONLY the -35% will take effect.
as said above - the Focii Effects WILL stack with SOME buffs. - ie Bard song, for ID, -- Cleric spell haste buffs with Spell Haste focus.
Cinadien Farslayer - Wizard of the lands of Fironia Vie
Okay, I'm a Paladin. For me, this is a good item. The Regen III helps to give me an extra boost for when the healer is LoM or OoM and the Spell Haste helps me to cast certain spells quicker, like my stun line and Celestial Healing. It does, like some have said, have something for everyone, but I think it's perfect for Hybrids. Best of both worlds all. <smiles>
I'm a 65 shaman so dont really need the FT3 from the 3rd gem although it's nice to have. Once any shaman has torpor/Q and canni 5, only some sever casting will make them lose mana at all. So I see the spell haste as a blessing. Some of my spells cast amazingly slow, and quick buff only works on some of them. You cast 5 group buffs that take 4 bubs of mana if you dont fizzle during combat, and you need speed. I wear only 1 piece of FT and that's the EotS, the rest is either sta/wis/hp/mana based. The final gem has spell haste on it so all classes (who have spells) all get the same amount of help as the pure melee who get regen. They gave something to melee, and something to casters. That's all, kind of a balancing act. By putting regen on it they make sure casters get something out of it as well. Although, they should of split the final result up into melee/hybrid and caster/priest, I still think the stats are wonderful. :)
All I can say is I won't bother with it even if I max FT for one simple reason... click over to equipment search and find another FT3 item with even decent stats... I'm sure you will feel as I do that other than for classes not relient on mana this is nothing but a good solid wis/int + mana item... Well worth the effort but realy placed in the wrong order imho this should have come in 3rd and the 3rd come in 4th... BTW spell haste is low priority for me as a cleric and most I group with since I am a 65 cleric...
Doh missed part of the though LOL... Also if your willing to drop a FT3 item for regeneration 3 I would think you nolonger have any FT1 items either /congradulates you on being in an "uber" guild =P
I saw it that way at first myself but then thought about it a bit, i currently use ornate boots for spell haste 4 as a wizard, ornate silk boots suck other than the focus effect, like most ornate, upgrading from the ft3 gem to this would let me replace spell haste 4 boots with boots of flowing slime, thus working out to the same ft3 the same spell haste 4 and more overall stats.
I guess they did it that way becuase if you're doing this quest, you're probably over the worm mana regen cap, or you would stop at the 3rd one. Worn HP regen caps at 35 whereas worm mana regen caps at 15. They threw the sux Focus Effect in there to make it look a little more attractive.
Nope, most of this stuff is one-groupable and not to hard to do with a strong group, just gotta suck in your gut and bite the bullet and spend some time up in hate. I really don't like how the 3rd stone has FT3 and this one has no mana regen at all. Oh well, I guess necro's rejoice all around ;p
This item is gold (or plat, if you prefer) for the pre-Time crowd. It stacks two effects which are both valuable to every class that can cast (regen is one of those things that seems pointless at higher levels, until you start stacking up enough that you realize you've "slowed" DoT AEs enough to make your raid-group's priest's HoT more effective by 5-10% percent per tick! Like resists, each item comes with only a small amount, but with augments and items like this, you can build up a huge amount of regen without sucking up too many slots).
Why is this so good? Because I can circular-file my SH4 item (currently Ornate boots) and get something in that slot that has something good like FT (e.g. BoFS). There's your FT3, and you've still added one more effect.

Posted:Sep 30 2003 at 4:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) reason for the 4th one haveg regen and not FT is cause more people have FT, 2 ft 3 items won't stack so for those of us who have FT3 already we can take the quest aliitle farther and get the stats and the regen, regen not being the primary concern of some classes but if you have FT then the this makes for a nice item if only for the stats
This is NOT correct. ALL FT items stack up to a maximum of FT15. So you can have FT1 + FT2 + FT3 + FT4 + FT5, or you could have FT3 + FT3 + FT3 + FT3 + FT3, or any combination of FT items (even 15 FT1 items), all working at once.
Still doesn't explain why this item has hp regen and spell haste ... maybe (as someone else noted) FT items could be easier to get?
Edit: It would behoove us to note that this item is no longer specific to one type of class (e.g., hybrid, caster, melee, or priest). This item is common to ALL classes, so it needs something for everyone.

As a chanter .. I can tell you that although FT is nice (and I want some of it too) .. I don't place as much importance on it as I would the Regen effect of this item.
Before 65 and enouth AA to get Pet Control - chanters have to play Rodney King to get their pet to attack. We use Troll form for the regen effect so that we can have Regen .. but we also want to use Illusion Scale Wolf for the Sow .. this item would be nice for the Regen.
and Yes .. chanters like to solo sometimes .. our pets high regen makes them good tanks .. and with slow on mob and haste on pet .. soloing is no problem - we don't have mana issues (most times) but HP is issue as we have to get beat on before pet will attack. So I would take this item over the Brain of Caotic Fool any day.

Posted:Oct 05 2003 at 8:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) because... when you have like 3.5k+ mana, 3 lil mana dont matter. FT is easier to get. my main is a necro and i'd much rather have this than FT3.
The fact that FT3 + FT3 don't add was the case a while ago, but 2 of the same level have stacked for quite a while now, so that's not why the 4th gem doesn't have FT. The gem is generalized for all classes, but for the most part hybrid, caster, and priest classes would prefer FT3, I'd think. Necro is an exception because lich form (and the others of that type) trade hp for mana, so they need regen to help counter that, and don't need FT as much. But I have no clue why they changed the effects between gem 3 and 5...Melee prefer Vengenace for the improved chance to hit over regen since either they try to avoid dmg (non-MT) and so don't need healing, or they rely on ch or Heals over Time to keep them alive (MT) and so don't need regen (as much). (That's for group strategies, soloers might enjoy the extra regen a little more 'cause it reduces self-healing down time in case they get hit)
<-- enchanter. ft is cake to max. tons of things have ft on them. regen is nice to have makes it harder for me to die. some casters might not need it as much as others but all casters would love regen.
Can understand why this item has regen. Shouldn't be too hard to max out FT for those capable of taking out the guys needed to get this far in the quest and since it's for all classes it turns out to be a greater benefit.
However, I don't understand the reasoning behind why a necro who hasn't reached the FT15 cap would prefer regen 3 over FT 3. Yes yes, they can lich, but that's still a numerical loss from HP --> mana. A necro declining a breeze line spell that doesn't stack with the lich line I can see, but why would you choose to regen 15 more HP per minute, translating to what... 10, 12 mana you can lich, instead of straight up taking the 15 mana you get from the FT 3 per minute, in addition to any liching you have going on? Not ment to flame, I just can't see how a necro would win out with regen 3 over FT3, so enlighten me if there's something I'm missing here?
Because a necro capable of getting this will find themself needing the hp more than the mana. It's not a matter of can I *get* more hp or can I *get* more mana; it's a matter of do I *need* more hp or do I *need* more mana? Most of the time in a high level necro's case, it's hp.
Those mages who hit for 5000 probably had a bard singing the improved damage song.
I have Marr's Gift and improved healing IV, I do not gain an extra 15% healing...
I have improved damage 3, and Fury of ro, I don't gain any damage beyond what Ro gives me....
I have mana pres IV and Preservation of Xegony.... etc etc
Only the best one works. Improved Distance + Spell haste + Mana pres + improved damage will all work on the same spell, but variants of any one of those will not combine.
Bard improved damage songs, and items with the effect, DO stack. If I crit using Firebolt of Talon with both an imp dmg item and song, I can crit in the 5000s. The reason I say IF is because FoT is evocation based and any mage worth anything would have specialiazed in conjuration post level 59, thus would never use FoT if they have their conj nukes.
Up to about level 59, specializing in evocation is good because you don't have any conj nukes that are work using, and its the only way that you are going to be able to solo effectively.
The dark elf mobs in the southern part of the zone drop crests with the greatest frequency (crests can be very rare drops). High Priests of Hate for priest Heretics of Hate, Sorcerers of Hate for caster Gravelords Of Hate for hybrids Warlords and Assassins of Hate for melee These mobs can be up to level 64 (level 64 one max hit for 622) other lower level mobs may drop but i havent seen any yet.

Like Nixoh, I also have to disagree but for a different reason. I will tackle this issue from a balance-enabled cleric stand-point. For those of you that don't know, a balance-cleric is slang for a cleric that has trained the AA ability Divine Arbitration Levels 1, 2, and 3. What the AA ability does essentially is split up all damage taken evenly among all group members. I'll use a 2-man group for example. a_Warrior_01 has 1000hp left out of 7000hp. a_Cleric_01 has 5000hp out of 5000hp. After DA3, the total 6000hp loss is evenly distributed amongst all players, in this case 3000dmg each to the war and the cleric. So 3000 of the cleric's HP are given to the warrior. Imagine now, a 6 man group. The damage is now split up amongst 6 people evenly, or in this warrior's case, 1000dmg to each player in your party.
With the advent of LDoN, this is the sweetest ability ever. Now, I can let a warrior run until near-death and flip DA3 to balance all HP and then let regen work everyone's HP back up. Bring along a shaman with Blessing of Replenishment and that's 30hp x6 regen essentially! 180hp regen on the MT! When I look at any form of regen, for me, it only serves as additional regen that I can balance over to my MT. So when I'm running well over FT15 anyways, why not switch out my current range of FT3 that I'm not using for regen3 that is ultimately going to improve the regen of my MT. Just the way I look at it.
I have to say that I disagree. Yes, FT3 is nice, but as a necro (can't speak for other classes), I would never look back turning it in for SH4+AoR. That's 3/tick regen (I spent AA to get that, and I'd gladly get an item to double it) and SH4 is ungodly useful to me. Right now, I have to keep a slot used for a SH1 item for gate, Harmshield, FD, etc. Plus, that doesn't affect Mezz, high-level FD or any of the damage spells I cast on a regular basis. Even upgrading to DJ ring only gets me so much.
SH4 would give me a great item in a slot that has nothing near as good right now, and I could put a really nice item into the slot currently used by SH1.
For hybrids, I would think that SH4 is mostly a dps effect: it lets them get spells off faster and then get back to swinging, firing, etc. As such it's quite valuable, and the added regen is a win for anyone, no? A pally that could stun faster would be quite happy I would think.
