dropped today from an elite gnoll guard in elite room. after about two hours camp. lots of named here, but they drop garbage.
I camped in the elite area for 3 hours. Of the sought after drops, I had 20 Blackburrow Gnoll Pelt and 1 Blackburrow Gnoll Skin drop. Patience is defintely needed to get these.
Also dropped by Refugee Splitpaw.

I have been camping this thing for four hours now for the monk headband. I am level 17 on the progression server so rampaging through all the spawns of possible drops is not really an option. One of the benefits of this however is tht there are alot of people in the zone who if you are nice will send out a shout if they get it. At one point i had me and 3 other groups of people looking out for this drop. Sadly it never did for any of us. Good luck all who are trying for this. gonna try to look on vendors if i dont find it soon.

I killed three consecutive high shamans today and got a skin off each one of them. He seems to have a better chance of dropping them than anything else in the zone, so definitely kill him if you see him up.

quest wants two pelts and one skin... why people be looking for two skins?
Monks have it easy...

So far im on a 15 hour Camp for these Skins. in that time i have killed 3 a brewers and looted 1 Cask. (the only 1 to drop it)Havent seen the Master brewer at all. I have a route down to all Elites and Commanders using a 2 box Druid to track the odd named (Lord Elnob). Repop timer is about every 10 Mins.
With a route and 2box to cover all drop sites im killing about 10 mobs every 10 mins. and have looted 1 Skin in 15 hours of play. thats not a 1-10 ratio or even a 1-30. you do the math, im still on site 2nd Day. LoL...

Got mine off Lord Elgnub, have been killing Commanders and Elite Guards for about 4 hours and they only dropped the Pelts. WOOT am I happy now. Good Luck to you all

Any one happen to know what this sells for? I was told it could go for around 1k apeice to assasins making poisons or something, and im hoping that its true, but i dont want to goto auction it, and get offered like 5pp...o well, thanks
I usually sell them for 50pp in bazaar and they sit in my inventory for about a day... I have a monk and rogue who have gone through these quests, and knowing how rare they are I don't really want someone to be held up because of my greed.
Having said that, I've never actually looted one myself as I tend to find them on merchants in Qeynos or Halas during periodic vendor-diving runs.

I dunno about that, but I've seen Monks buying them. I don't recall for how much, though.

are these rare drops? been killin for a while and can't find them or get them to drop.
From my experience of doing this quest about four times, and having to kill lots of these guys, the drop rate is about 1 in 10. Fortunately, if BB is green to you, there are elites all over the place so you don't have to wait for commanders to pop.
You must be really lucky, in questing Burning Rapier and then later getting more pelts yet again for a recently found brewing recipe, I would say drop is more in line with 1 in 30+, Just my experience though.

Argh. Yes they are pretty rare. I have killed in BlackBurrow for a few hours and no skin. At least there's some decent faction adjustments made for us Iksars.
