Very easy to gather in Mesa.

I looted both Thick Grizzly Bear Skins as well as ruined to high quality bear skin off young Kodiaks in Commonlands.
I prefer reinforced medicine bags over handmade backpacks due to the giant capacity. Both have 10% weight reduction and 10 slots.
For the medicine bags,I found lots of spiderlings in Feerot. (need 6 spiderling silks per medicine bag)
At level 50ish, the caves just inside of Blackfeather Roost frequently drop high qual bear and thick grizzly pelts. I was able to accumulate quite a few of both in relatively little time.

Goru'kar Mesa Has ton's of all type of bear pelts...Easy to get a stack of all types. Thick hides don't drop as fast though.

I got 7 HQ Skin Drops on Adolescent Cave Bears in Icefall tonight. Killed 50+ of them, but someone else was also looting. I took over when their bags were full. Probably about 30 out of 50 kills.

Umm, I killed a young kodiak in EC with my 32 Warrior and hit it with major amounts of damage, using two blades. It dropped a high quality skin (not that I'm complaining). I think I should've damaged it more...

try nedaria's landing every bear u kill drops nothin but HQ LQ and Mq pelts if it drops 1
If your looking for these to make backpacks, give up. High Quality rockhopper pelts also work and are much easier to farm, near the pok book in shadeweavers thicket "needle clawed hopper"
I think this has been nerfed ... been hunting in shadeweavers for almost 4 hours and only got one HQ pelt /skin ... maybe i am just unlucky :(

I don't think it's nerfed. Same when im making leather padding, and hunting wolves and bears and cats. for 30 min i only got ruined pelts, then i got several quality pelts then none for a while ect. Might possibly be luck or a bug, or maybe they only drop every now and then so there's not too many in circulation.

I just spent about 3 hours by the pok book in Shadeweaver's Thicket.. and got 1 HQ pelt to show for it. -_- You're better off farming lower qualities and getting them upgraded in Gukta.

Anyone knows the best place to farm this pelts?
I can remember when these pelts sold for like 60pp in the tundra of Everfrost Peaks. I remember when peeps would come into Blackburrow and buy those rare gnoll pelts that drop off of Elites for like 100pp.....ahhhh the days.....
