How about some tactics for us non uber players on taking this guy down with less than bum rushing the room in the hopes we can kill him before he wakes up?
For us non-rogue types, and not hard core gamer types, I would love for my Warrior/Ranger/Bard to have this in secondary slot<note only available slot above> as it frees up primary for a goo DPS <note did not mention agro> weapon there. And, if you want agro, place <insert weapon name here> in primary slot.

I have one of these on my warrior atm, picked it up because basically nobody else wanted it and it was going to rot. While it is nice dmg/dly and a 41% haste item, it really in the long run has lowered my DPS on boss mob type mobs (L63-70) due to the fact that my pierce caps at 240. I do more damage if I equip a 1h slash or 1h blunt with same ratio. ( note, also have 41% haste in belt ) So for a warrior who just wants to get into the 41% haste bracket it is nice, but honestly if you can do glyphed you prolly are able to do parts if not all of NToV. there are I think 3 belts and the CoL ( claw of lightning ) from there with 41% haste also.
As for the rogue argument, I think it is a nice rogue item, but there are good arguments either way for using this or the ragebringer. 1% more haste? or the 40atk. somewhat of a toss-up.
omgz, u r all n0oBs...this is clearly monk lewtz duh. look at all that CHA and INT...great for the solo'r monk...just rember 2 have feing death mem'd, cauze if charm breaks and they resist dragon kick itll save your life! dont forget to hold your breath tho when you FD, they can hear you breathing...

Simply put, this is an upgrade for the rogue epic, not a Warrior weapon, EVEN if the warrior wants to get into your so-called "41% Haste Bracket" this weapon is ridiculous for taunt types (e.g. War/Pal/SK)
Im trying to find where he talked about aggro. THought he was talking about DPS... Which, unless you are MT, ST or whatever number assist... You will be there for DPS(Which warriors arent that great at, but every point counts). So, maybe hes arguing for warriors who are NOT tanking. And therefor, aggro would not be a good thing? But you obviously know everything. We can tell by how you open your post with an insult. Also, cursed is a joke snake, if you think hes tough, your guild is a numbers guild. Which means, you newb rush and hope having 60+ peeps will do the job. Cursed can be done with 2 groups if you know the strat. Your type are the ones that all bound on the shore in FoB when you did the Tangrin and just naked bum rushed until he died... Then rezzed yourselves back up the 5 levels you all lost. Honestly, Im having a good time reading your post, especially imagining the smug look on your face when you thought your hot-shot, 00bah, know-it-all @$$ was totally humiliating that n3wb. Honestly, Id rather debate/play/chat with someone who didnt know much, but gave an open honest opinion on what he knew before some creep like you who sits on his **** all day whining about dinging AA from raid XP in upper elemental planes. I really think you should delete, if your EQ experience has sunken so low as to have to insult other peeps to have funn now :( Poor you. So now I went from laughing at you to pitying you. Oh... And noone gives 2 craps about dex, l00zah, if you don't have avatar, you're a n3wb. So go back to playing your chanty and pretending you know jack $#!+ about a melee class.
Tonight on cursed cycle i picked up this and Blasphonous blade of the exiled for 10dkp each
Up until now i was using a runed bolster belt for haste so to me i consider this an upgrade
13/17 main hand this in offhand produces a HUGE ammount of aggro heh we went on and did rhag 2 and AL after cursed and MT kicked me for stealing aggro when BBoE procced
Now due to the fact i am only lvl 58 i am not yet in range for eb weps (but i be gettin close) so till i get a BOC Spike driver Bloodfrenzy etc is it worth it to throw an anger aug in this u think?
Am curious as i really like being able to hold the aggro off damn sk's and pallys again heh
Bruenoar Battlehammerr 58th Myrmidion of Brell Quiet Solitude - Xev
Tirram's post is legitimate. Personally, as a rogue, I would keep the RB and just wait for a Gargoyle Talon or Wicked Shank. Easy to get, great weapons. Most of the time I see Windspeeders on Rangers for some reason...
"Also, to the comment, "40atk or 1% more haste it's a toss-up" made about the rogue epic vs. this weapon shows you have no idea what you're talking about... Ok, the 1% haste is negligible and technically you shouldn't even bother mentioning these weapons have different haste, cuz really they don't...the difference is so small that most GOOD parsers won't even pick it up. But, 40atk or a WAY better ratio should be the question for rogues and like Zilth mentioned it shouldn't even really be a question."
Actually, YOU have no idea what you're talking about. This shows you have no idea what a rogue is about. A rogue will always main hand the dagger with more damage; period. 17/24 > 16/21 for a rogue. I agree. Go back to your Enchanter.
Bards get 1hp, 1hb, and 1hs all to 250 skill (no 2 handed weapon skills at all) so bards can make great use of this item in their offhand. Bard DPS is always somewhat low compared to certain classes with relative AA/level so the ratio isn't as much an effect. Also, bards can self haste well over 100% so often they do not need a high worn haste item... leaving this item to other classes for a bard with a 30%+ haste item already.
Bards can self haste to 100%, not counting worn items.
BUT, one of those songs is junk, and will never be sung by a bard who can. The 10% difference in haste it adds is not as much dps as you'd get from adding a chant instead
I am pretty sure that this dropped off of Exiled and not a glyph covered serpant. A glyph covered serpant dropped the Braded strand of corrupted mana for us as his only weapon.

GRRRR dang stupid roll, to a war non the less - cough - anyway new guild does skp, and I don't play much atm do to RL stuffs, so prob never gonna see this one. Wassup CT << fello friend friend Drinal =)
I use this over epic in offhand, i use Tendonslicer in mainhand, epic is bagged unless i'm on a raid and need the extra atk and aggro reduction of a slower weapon.. I have found that even missing the 56atk (which is what i found it gave using 255str, 60 rog, 252 piercing) that this weapon still outdamages Ragebringer in offhand at least, not only do you get 1% to your overall damage (from 1% more haste) but the ratio is incredible vs the epic. The only problem i've foudn with Windspeeder is that the aggro you generate from your pure damage is usually too much for regular seb/velks/FG tanks to beat, i'm constantly getting aggro and takin a few hits before i evade (the proc from Tendonslicer may have something to do with that also)
ok, not to sound smart here, but you have the tendonslicer. It concerns me that you think the proc of it actually gives you more agrro. When in fact the spdat shows that it reduces hate by 50. Scares me really. Hope i helped you out knowing more about the weapon you have. /sigh
Just a quick note, as I understand it from a friend of mine that has that weapon it still taunts as a snare but reduces the normal snare aggro by 50 points.
As a ranger that uses jolt 99.9% of the time i can say that on some mobs, if jolt is resisted its almost like it adds more aggro.. dont know for sure if thats the case with all aggro reducing procs but you never know
If I can recall correctly, +10 Int, +10 Cha, and +50 Mana have been added to the prior stats.
I use epic over this in secondary; the atk on epic from 20 str and 40 atk buff make it better imo; haven't gotten around to parsing them because I am too lazy :/
If anything rogues need a better bs weapon, even if the dly is slow, so they can do a gooooood amout of dmg to the mob. /pray to Bristlebane (all we want are some decent weapons!)
Da there is 3 kinds of haste song spell and effect, effect is not a spell unless u have to right click it this haste gives haste to all weps in your hands except your range slot inwhitch u can get a bow haste such as on the fleeting quiver. however there is a haste cap... lower than 50 u cannot get mor than 60% at lvl 60 u can get up to 100 presently i have 2 items which gives me 90% haste(if i were lvl 60) i got swiftwind and then a right click 50% haste cloak its a good quest u can do in PoA the dark velvet cloak is extremly hard to get which is only part of the quest the other to peices are easy to get...i had a guy ofer 100k just for the dark velvet cloak which is the hardest peice to get, my budy tried 30 times and still hasen't got it
I *WANT* one, unfortunatly I'm only level 24 with my warrior. I'm gonna have to ask Eth what it's like. maybe get a log file of it slaughtering that darkelf in NRo ;)
Seeing as how this has Haste listed for it, does it haste both weapons? I was never to sure about this,s eeing as how I'm a Paladin, and all my Haste swords are 2hs. But if your dual wielding, will this haste your Primary?
Think what you were actually asking was will the haste from this actually affect your primary, rather than will it stack. If that's correct, then I think the answer is that the spell (essentially what a wpn effect is) affects YOU. Therefore, it will affect whatever you're holding in primary

Posted:Apr 08 2002 at 6:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Haste from items dosen't stack. (as far as I know, haste effects of the same type don't stack, but hast effects from diffrent types of sources do stack. So you can have a buff haste and an item haste. Someone out there: can you stack a bard haste with buff and item? Oh, and quiver haste stacks with all of the above.) The only haste you get from items is the last one you equip. So, if you have multiple haste items...you'd better make sure you know which one gives you the best haste and equip it last. (btw, why are you carrying multiple haste items? Spread the wealth!)
So many missconceptions about haste. As a Bard I have a lot of issues with haste and haste stacking. Some points:
In general you can have 2 haste effects on your character (item haste + spell/song). With the exception of a few bards songs (more on that later...)
1. Item haste - the fastest haste on an item you wear will be taken into effect. The order in which you equiped your stuff doesn't matter.
2. Spell or song haste - the fastest spell/song haste will be taken into effect. You still see/get the other beneficial spell/song effects (like strength bonus, attack bonus etc.)
Sample: Enchanter casts Swift like the wind (60%) on you and at the same time a bard plays Verses of Victory (30% haste) - you get 60% haste plus 30 str, 30 agi and 21 ac from the bard song.
The game has certain limits on haste by lvl: lvl 30 - 50% lvl 50 - 74% lvl 54 - 84% lvl 59 - 94% lvl 60 - 100%
stacking exemptions: Melody/Composition of Ervaj line of songs Battlecry/Warsong of the Vah Shir line of songs
ONE of these songs stacks with another song/spell and an item.
Melody of Ervaj (5%), Composition of Ervaj (10%), Battlecry of the Vah Shir (15%) and Warsong of the Vah Shir (25%) actually allow you to exceed the haste cap.
ok, hope that helps to clarify the stacking issues :)
(Data was collected from my own parsing, the monk boards at monkly business, the rogues at the safehouse and bards from eqdiva and concert hall)
Sgrobi Lutebasher 60 Bard Spirit of Fire Zebuxoruk
here's the breakdown on haste stacks, you can have one bard song haste, one spell haste, and one item haste, i don't know much about quiver haste, so i'm not sure on that one.. say you have more than one item haste, it uses the one with the most haste.. and haste effects everything combat related, as far as i can tell, my monk has a db sash, and she had a spell haste and bard haste on her, everything refreshed faster than without haste. hope this helps.
This looks alot like the Claw of Lightning from ToV. Same damage/delay with haste and some stats. The stats aren't the same but they're fairly close. Only major difference is that Claw of Lightning is primary/secondary.
The weapon is off hand only, unfortunately. I agree that rogues make the best use out of piercing weapons, since their cap is same as other weapon skills, while warriors max at 240 piercing. Even so, I still wouldn't turn this down 8)
Olav Trygvarson Barbarian Myrmidon Falcon's Pride The Nameless
after having looked at this little item here i Know verant finaly listened to us Rogues complaining about getting decent piercing weapons with both hi dmg and Speed this is an UBE BS weapon <for those who dont know BS=Backstab aka instant death to the mob when i hit them 5 of 6 time with this for at least 300 points of BS dmg >
^ | Weapon is SECONDARY only, verant didnt finally listen. This is a decent off hander but it doesnt do crap for your PRIMARY hand where your back stabs come from.
It's still great for a Secondary, if you wanna go all piercing.
But there's a few good 1HS out there for secondary that could prolly put out a better dmg/dly ratio. Considering the difficulty of getting this, anyway.
Assuming this has a haste value equal to that of Swiftwind, this is the only weapon short of Tolan's Longsword of the Glade that I would replace it with. Though with the ratio and the stats on this mean mamma jamma there's no doubt in my mind that my guild would give this to a warrior, a level 60 main tank at that. And I would have absolutely NO problem with that at all. Rangers have enough trouble as it is controlling agro while weilding Earthcaller and Swiftwind (read: Mobcaller and Swiftdeath).
Excuse me whilest I go change into some clean drawers though =D
It's been suggested (and who knows maybe Verant will hear) to do Epics Part II. WHere you turn in your first epic weapons to do a 2nd and much harder 2nd Epic quest. THe result for each class would be a new improved epic item. One that completes with the new uberloot found nowadays.
Yea go uber guild...as if one would take you...I would suggest sticking to your original plan.
As to the first poster:
Epics are not end game anymore...Claw of Lightning has been IG a long time and has the same stats as this almost(1hs), assuming this is 41 haste as well. This isn't going to be nerfed.
Well guys this sure is a very nice weapon, but as a rogue i would want the warrior to get this first =) doesnt do much good if the mob is hitting you all the time =P give it to the war or even the poor ranger first. god knows they need it hehehe
Ok here is my question. Although this weapon is 1 damage less then some of the other weapons out there for maximum backstab. With this delay and haste, wouldn't you get more chances of backstab to make a bigger total damage done to a mob than a higher delay/bigger damage weapon? If anyone know what is the maximum backstab damage that can be done by each backstab with a 14 damage weapon and a 15 damage weapon (at level 60 max strength and skills), please post here.
IANR (I am not a rogue) - but I do know that delay doesn't factor in when backstabbing. BS is a set delay (10 seconds I think?) and even haste doesn't change this. BS damage doesn't really play into this weapon though, seeing as it is only secondary! I'm not really sure what rogues would use this, though, as most are going to have their epic at this point in their life (I know not all do). Maybe those that use post-epic weapons would use - if this has good haste?
Pardon me but you are incorrect, haste DOES effect the refresh rate for backstab, as it does for all other special attacks, bash, kick, flying kick, etc. The base timer without haste is 10 seconds for backstab, with a FBSS it's roughly 8 seconds, if you are rage equiped it's 6 seconds.
Most of the time I think this is likely to go to eather a bard or a warrior and just as a guess on the haste percentage...41%...the same as all the other haste items coming out of Ssraeshza Temple.
I am not 100 percent sure, but I think that haste does in fact effect Backstab refresh times. I just checked with Ragebringer equipped and then without it equipped, and the refresh on the backstab button was almost 2 seconds faster with Ragebringer equipped. I believe that RB has a haste of around 40 percent. This was a short little dry run, and I'm gonna do several more tests to get an average to make sure I didn't get a bum sample. If anyone else has done an exhaustive study of this, please post here and maybe save me some time :)
