Sylvan Protectors are called to the aid of Treah Greenroot when the latter starts to get low on HP - so it helps to make sure that every Sylvan is hunted and killed before Treah is pulled.
I'm a lvl 59 druid with epic completed so i don't need to worry about faction anymore. I wanted to get my bear pet just for the novelty of being able to summon a pet finally and unfortunately this is one of the only mobs in game that drops it. So i was wondering if it's possible to solo these.
ok, i am DYING to check out PoG for drops, xp, what have you, since it is so easily fought with one good semi high group (the 61 mage pet and a 60 shammy are plenty, really) My biggest concern is whether or not this will destroy my chance at getting my epic... Any chanters out there that fought in PoG pre-epic and were able to get their epic regardless? I need to know =)
I've completed the first three sections of the staff and as far as the write up on bjornstar.com the only NPC that is of some concern is the trade in mob for Prince's head in Felwithe. He's indifferent to all so it's really of no concern. Just make sure you go in invis through the first Felwithe zone and you should have no problems. I had done a PoG raid prior to that part and had no problems getting that section completed glitch free.
Finally completed epic and yes you can do this turn in. In fact the factions destroy by fighting in PoG are fortunately not associated with NPCs in the caster area of Felwithe. Hope this helps.
I spent a bunch of time researching faction before taking my guild to pog. Here's what I know. After a trip to PoG where you kill a lot of stuff: 1. Worshippers of Tunare will be unable to do any of the quests given by mobs in PoG. This isn't a huge deal because the quest items are only so-so for the level you need to do the quests. This faction cannot be repaired. 2. Druids, rangers, and paladins of any diety will become unable to complete certain steps of their epics. This faction can be repaired, although it is time consuming to do so. 3. All characters become KoS in the cleric guild in Felwithe, and the druid/ranger guild(s) in Kelethin. Your faction with other parts of those cities is unaffected (that is, you will not be KOS in general to Felwithe and Kelethin residents). This faction can be repaired, although it is time consuming to do so.
I've been to PoG 3 times and all 3 were fantastic. 1st time won a BD. These dropped like skittles in that funny rainbow commercial. :) 2nd time I was merited Resplendent Sleeves since the other chanter won some earlier. Then a 3rd chanter showed up and she got the legs. :( 3rd time I won the Gloves - 9int and resists so I could not pass them up. Later, other Chanter was merited the Robe. Ugh! Oh well - 2 down, SS armor to go for the rest. Summary: This plane is generous with chanter gear, resist stones.
I have 2 pieces of PoG gear (head and feet) which i've gotten off of the sanguine kodiaks...but last trip to pog, one of these dropped a robe for us (lost roll :( oh well)
