Best loot in WW isn't saying a lot :). They gave ok XP for my Necro in the half level he spent there, but little loot other than the couple of weapons which dropped; of course if that had been a couple of Forest Loops I'd be agreeing with you :).

Probably lucky I didn't give that leg-chopper to my pet as I was thinking about :).

Only greenwoods drop and show weapons.

Saplings = Small game for a soloing level 17-19

Forest giant = Mixed of a grennwood and sapling's

Greenwoods = All weapons the forest giants hold.

Evergreens = Platinum loot and lots of rune's

Words can also be found on these giants but if you want words.. lots of them.. go to kurns tower and hunt in the basement levels. Burynai are the holders and sometimes skeletons mostly icebones and charbones.

ALL forest giants aggro-help eachother so when the giant starts to run, switch to a quick weapon or start casting spells to lower him down so he cant get help.

Forest loop is kind of rare BUT if you attempt at flushing out the whole fort ( kill all giants ) You might find one during the next 3 or 4 respawns. As soon as a giant pops up, kill it as it may be a placeholder for the giant with the forest loop.

Forest giants have an amazing health and strength attribute so conning a forest giant may be blue to you, he is amazingly strong. Next to ogres, they are about the same exept the kinky size diffrence and cloth armor. A forest greenwood with even the common hammer is lethal. Taking on a greenwood with a weapon that cons black/white or even to you is kinda comparing to a yellow skeleton. Hopefully, If youre equiped for your level, its worth the try and experience. ( this excludes ogres and most trolls ) A forest giant's strength is at typical 135-the same with stamina.

I hope this helps you all out.

This is what I have noticed for the forest giants in Warslick woods.
cash?

Forest Loops

I have fought and fought Forest Giants in Warslick Woods and not once have I seen a forest loop. I have killed well over 500 of these Ghetto Giants (the poorest giants) and never once seen a loop, but have gotten my fair share of LegChoppers, and Flayers to make some decent pp off of.

Giants Are Fun!
# Jan 02 2002 at 2:29 PM Rating: Decent
Well, I made my first venture into the Woods to hunt Giants and hopfully obtain at least one of the elusive Loops. I brought a Ranger friend of mine who is a little frightened to go too far away from his bind point at FV. For some reason, he was going LD alot last night and thus I ended up kiting the giants solo many times. BTW, I am a Druid who also achieved my 30th season while hunting a Giant last night. With the exception of Saplings, they all conned light blue to dark blue to me.

We killed about 20 of those big guys in the couple hours we spent there. We killed all forms: Saplings, Evergreens, Greenwoods and "a Forest Giant". Alas, no Loops but we did obtain two Flayers and a Leg-Chopper. Of course lots of plat was dropped! We pulled a bunch from one of the fort gates (if three Giants are at the gate, I used Harmony on them first) and from inside the fort, then moved to the hut on the hill.

This hut was my favorite spot to kite: lots of room to run and cast. Normally would snare, DOT, nuke till well cooked then DS and melee till dead. I found that the Evergreens seemed to resist my Ensnares more often then not. In which the kiting became quite exciting...especially when my Ranger would go LD in the middle of the fight!

The nice thing about WW is that no one was there! I never saw more than four others in the zone the entire time! Nice and quiet with no spam! I will be going back there tonight to continue my hunting. I would recommend that any Druid coming to this area to hunt start at the hut...the open area to the South of the hut is a really nice spot for kiting. One question: do the Brutes ever arggo on you? I had many just walk by with out raising a hand. Just grunted as they walked by on their merry way...

I have kited Giants in FM and was only successful on 3 of 8 attempts. So, I think I will keep practicing in WW for a while.

Good Hunting to all, may we all obtain Loops!

RE: Will Brutes Aggro?
# Jan 14 2002 at 3:11 PM Rating: Decent
No, Brutes do not aggro, not even to help out one another. However, in WW there are tons of wandering goblin casters/warriors, skeletons and giants that make kiting and running around interesting to say the least. Another issue is that the Giant fort is in the middle of the zone which is known for it's confusing landscape, which makes emergency zone runs difficult.
Solo?

I'm a level 23 Iksar Monk... soon to be 24. Can I solo these? I really dont like being in a group unless I have to. I read somewhere that it is dependant on how fast and damaging your weapos are... I have a fighting baton (8/20) and an Essence of Dol (10/28)... do between 16 and 27 dmg a pop, with an 18-20 dmg strike thrown in... I'm not all that interested in the loops, although I'd certainly take them... I just want the exp.

and i bought the other one :D

and after 216 forest giants no loops...hmmm

yes i have counted them till i am on kunark hihi :D

by the way price on loop on sullon zek

Forest Loops Drop
# Sep 18 2001 at 10:37 AM Rating: Default
I am by no means an expert, but I have done my fair share of hunting in WW. I've hunted here from lvl 20-28. Low 20ies in groups & after 24-25ish I started soloing the giants. I did not see or even hear of anyone getting a forest loop until I was 27th lvl. Anyway not to make a long post in my experiences the greenwoods dropped better loot (weapons-wise) & were the only mobs that I saw drop not 1 loop, but 2! ! ! (Of course not at the same time.) I found the evergreens resisted more of my spells & had a lot more HP's than the greenwoods. So hunt the greenwoods when looking for loot. Just my 2 cp.

RE: what lvl and where?

Well, they can't be that tough, cause i soloed one of these at lvl 17, i just barely survived, but i did it, but if i was in real danger, i had a high lvl friend of mine there. It all worked out, theses are found in the Giant fort in Warslick woods

Im a 23rd lvl human monk and I easily take these guys and sometimes (about 75% of the time) im able to take white con'ing ones. I have camped them for about a week and only got 1 forest loop. Yea those loops are pretty rare...
#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 23 2000 at 5:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Do you have any weps?
Easy to take
# Sep 25 2000 at 5:09 PM Rating: Decent
I always group with an equal level ranger (I'm a druid) and we moved into the camp at around 21st level. We park in the back corner and pull all day. If it's just the two of us, we occasionally get in trouble with the high level Evergreen's, but more often than not we can take the low reds. We've even had occasion to take out a couple of blues at the same time. I guess it helps that we have been grouping together for 15 levels or so.

Anyhow, this is a decent place to get some xp, usually pretty quiet, but just dangerous enough to be exciting. If you pull a couple of blues, and a red decides to come with, you just better hope your SOW is going to hold.

We've probably killed better than 200 of the giants from this camp, and have yet to see a loop, though we have seen a number of weapons. We generally make upwards of 50 plat apiece for 5 or 6 hours of work. Not bad, and the xp is decent. We just made 22nd recently, and I don't think that this will get any harder. I think we'll move on once I get my spells at 24th.

Anyhow, as long as you are confident and organized, you can take these guys. Just make sure that you can snare or root them if things get bad.
