The person likely had a weapon ornamentation on this weapon, from the Legends of Norrath card game. It would have changed the worn graphic of the weapon. For example, Draconic Great Blade Ornamentation .

got one off a forest giant ancient in Burning Woods
sold it in overthere
# Sep 16 2002 at 12:34 PM Rating: Default
I sold this sword in overthere for 18 plat. Now when you buy or sell in overthere they give you a crappy price. so i bet you could sell this for about 22 or 23 plat.

Good for up to level 20

Since there is a damage cap in place for warriors until level 20, this is actually a good weapon for someone until level 20. Consider this: a BABS has a damage of 24 and a delay of 39 but under level 20 you will not hit for more than 20 something damage with it. The full power of the weapon is not revealed until damage cap comes off at level 20. Since you are capped anyway, you could use a weapon like this and do 20 or low 20s damage at levels under 20. 41 is actually a good delay for weapons with higher damage output which come in later years, thus you would really not benefit under level 20 with a weapon much better than this. Along with items like the Mino Axe, FS Weapons, etc, I think this item was meant to be looted by a player in their 20s or 30s and sold on the player market to an untwinked player under level 20 which would also explain why NPC merchants wont pay much for it.

A couple problems with your argument: most importantly, this is not a very good weapon for someone with a damage cap. Even though that warrior may not be able to benefit from a higher damage weapon, they can get much better use from a weapon with the same damage and lower delay . . which is not too hard to find. Secondly, merchants pay far more for this weapon than they do for most other weapons (fine steel, for example). I remember with my very first character hunting the giant fort in Warslik's Wood and hoping that giant axes or swords would drop because of the massive cash (at that level) that I could get for selling them to merchants . . cash that untwinked lower level characters could not afford, and twinked lower levels wouldn't want it.

It's vendor trash. Very profitable vendor trash for the level required to get it, but vendor trash all the same.

This now has a damage bonus on it (six, I think), which makes it a bit more attractive.

Well I look at tons of posts on here for various weapons. My level 7 warrior has this particular weapon right now, given to him by a slightly higher level person. Yeah, its not that great but come on, just because MOST people in the game are total twinks doesn't mean a few off us don't scrounge and save every little penny just to get enough for a piece or two of banded armor. Its just ridiculous how arrogant some people seem on here. This weapon is OK. My warrior will prolly use it for awhile, due to lack of funds and it is magical. Would you find this on a twink, no way, but for people not getting hooked up by others, even 15pp to buy this from a person is sorta hard to get. Well regardless I'm sure I speak upon deaf ears here, but you shouldnt dog the guy who said its good, perhaps he isnt Cheating like most people do :) Go him!

Agreed my good friend. Nothing bothers me more than a twink who has forgotten what it is to be a non-twink. I have had to work hard for every bit of equipment I have and I am proud of it. I wear my armor and brandish my weapons with pride. So maybe I am the only player beyong 25 without a Centi Longsword but at least I am thankful for what I have.

Another voice to this sentiment. I had one of these given to me at 8 and loved it as my main weapon until I had another piece of good fortune at 15 - a Thunder Runed War Spear. So as an untwinked SK, I think we don't forget how hard it is!

And all this time I thought I was the ONLY untwinked shadow knight out there... Got really lucky when I first started playin and another SK and a Bard came up to me out of nowhere and gave me a bunch of etched iron plate and a decent weapon... I'll never forget those two...

I totally agree with ya here. While I wouldn't use it now (never practiced my 2hs, fool that I am) I'd have loved a weapon like this right up to level 20. Hell, I don't think I managed to find a magic weapon until level 17, and only then because a higher up guildie was selling his PGT extra cheap. I remember the days when I was proud to carry a weapon that wasn't rusty - never mind bronze or FS - just a plain old scimitar or axe. While I now have improved somewhat in what I carry, that's only because I found a very friendly guild who basically handed me down a fair old bit of equipment. Had I not, I'd have stayed just as untwinked as ever, loving every pp earned and every weapon found because that was the way the game worked for me.

Someone gave it to the cent. I have looted a sarnak great cleaver of a decaying skele, and a puigus off a cent... it's nothing special.
Pricing Index Must be Messed Up
# Mar 13 2001 at 11:26 AM Rating: Default
How can this weapon, does same basic dam/delay as Leg Chopper, sell to vendors for less. There is a pricing post for Leg Chopper that says someone sold the Leg Chopper to a vendor for 36 pp with a charisma of 80. The Leg Chopper is warrior only where the Giant Tree Flayer is Ra, P, SK and Wr. The merchant pricing index must be screwed, but I know you could sell this on the open market easier than the Leg Chopper cause you have a larger group to sell to.

Good luck finding any players to buy this. It's worse than a Fine Steel 2 hander. Also, it's not a Lore Item so that's probably why it doesn't sell for as much as the Leg Chopper, which is a Lore item.
Not too sure about price...
# Jan 24 2001 at 1:50 PM Rating: Decent
The price for this item is listed above at 9pp. However, I currently am carying one and am looking around to sell it. In trying to determine a fair selling price, I've looked at what the Merchants will pay for it in Freeport, Kelethin and Kaladim. All are offering around 10pp for it. I haven't found anyone selling it, so I don't know what the Market price is - but I would assume that it would sell for 15 - 20pp.

I bought one of these from a player for 45pp, I've heard that I was ripped off from some people but others say its worth 50.

A merchant bought this from me for 30pp. Then again, I have a 200 cha and a faction spell.

Hiya Bighead,

It sells at a vendor for about 11PP and some gold, if you want to buy it back from a vendor it's nearly 700PP, but that's just silly :)
Most people just sell at a vendor, as they are such common drops and not worth much, I doubt you will be able to sell it over 15PP
