Start on treants around level 22, a full group of 22's can take the camp of 2 in SK wishout a problem. When my necro was 25 I paired with another 25 necro and we took the camp easy. Upon achiving level 29 I could solo the camp with mana to spare. The root, Cast ignite (34 DD), Pongonip (AE rain, 3 waves of 25 i belive), and Creeping crud(190? DoT) crud can be removed with cancel magic. They double hit for 50-60ish and have around 800ish HP. The soak up fear like a sponge and drop up to 4pp look, treant hearts and bark, they ocassionally drop a Great Staff which my 46 cha necro solo to mino's for 14pp. these things can take you from level 22 to 29, after 29 I suggest grouping with a evil shaman and taking the bard.
I started tree hunting at level 20, but the only thing I could provide for the group was a Tishani and a Breeze. None of my other spells would stick much. Considering a level 21 necro doesn't have these to offer too much (except for ghetto healing {shadow compact}), it would be unwise. Try to wait till level 22 at least, then more of your spells will stick...especially if you're grouped with a chanter. Elky Draganov of the 7th hammer
These treant are great exp and loot, but they hit hard and fast...better have group to kill these trees. But druid better not kill them....ahh...i love being evil, kill anything i please
Put it this way, if you like to kill trees, consider the druid rings off limits for porting without getting invs'd first. Also, some RPing druids in game will refuse to help you if you like to kill trees. Elky Drag of the 7th hammer
Ah, but the druids at the rings are not always alone. I've ported into rings with as many as 4 treants hanging around. And I would suppose that they would not be obliged to simply let someone that was kos to them just wander away.
The ones in SK also drop "A wooden heart" lore, no drop. Most likely all treants do, but I have no idea what it is used for. Might be some undiscovered quest?
Killing Treants is an alternate, and not recommended, method of acquiring a treant wooden heart for a ranger quest... one of the items needed to upgrade your trueshot to a raincaller i believe.
be careful not to be ported to the druid stones and hunt there cause if a animal comes up and hits u these things kill u plus all the druids it happened to me twice
They have never once dropped an Arjah Leaf in the 1000+ treants I have killed over my various characters. I think these are either foraged in EK, or they drop off something there. EK is where they are supposed to be, but have yet to find any for the quest I assume you are talking about.
Only quest I know of that uses these is the peacekeeper staff (useless 4/30 pal/cleric only staff) unless the staff is useful in some other quest, destroy the shards.
There is a shopkeeper in Erudin, just outside the city gate. Emil something. Give him the wooden shards for treant sap?, for the ranger bow I believe. Good way to raise faction with Erudin merchants. Though it takes alot.
20 got my agnostic DE wizard from apprehensive to indifferent.
Rangers can use these wooden shards to get the staff for there Trueshot bow... But that would hurt there faction with druids. Rangers can get the wooden shards in WFP as well as the treant wooden heart for there Raincaller. Can't remember the guys name, but he's in the Hogcaller Inn in WFP. Give him a small lantern and you get the same shards with out the neg faction hits. Give him a few lanterns and he give the wooden heart for the raincaller.
At lvl 20 I came for the treants, I'm a mage and most spells were resisted, but I was the busyiest person there, I had my pet to do some damage, I threw daggers and canceled the buffs they place on them selves at the start, once they were dispelled I uprooted the tanks. and after the battle I was the one to bandage everyone up to 50% to save the poor pallys and clerics mana. As U can tell I never exactly was a big threat to them directly but sometimes my spells would bring them down a good ways, on the higher ones I fireshielded everyone once they R burned they were no more than sticks waiting to die, I never got alot of battle action but I as do others feal I earned my share of the loot.
One other note. Like I said, at 21 I saw a handful con yellow. This means that treants' level range is at least minimum 23, not 24. (Though they are VERY RARE at 23; I must have seen 50 treants when I was soloing in SK, and only 2 of them ever conned yellow. So naturally, I killed them.)
I've been soloing in SK for a couple of levels, and I happened (at level 21) to see a yellow treant. I soloed it and used up a full mana burn and my pet went down to about 10% health, but I won. The second time, I cast Cancel Magic on it to start, and did much better (treants tend to cast all sorts of buffs on themselves). Then I hit level 22, and could easily solo any yellow treant I saw.
you must have had some pretty strong buffs, at 22 with my sk i was rooted DOTed and AE to death (AE spell actually does more than their DD, about a bubble and i got 600+hp). its hard to solo casters with any class, cept maybe reverse kite. if you WANT to die go ahead and fight in mid teens, treants have wiped out a 30ish warr in seconds flat, he was alone and they for some reason cast AE after AE, and loot isnt up to 25plat, its more like 5pp if you add the gold and plat together.
I am a lvl 16 dark elf necro, and surprisingly I took one of these bad boys on my own, well ofcourse I was buffed, still took too much damage and lost my pet, but he gave me half a bubble of experience, excellent loot, I guess I got lucky with these guys, I would suggest totally group up till level 20, after which a necro should be able to take them down in no time

We saw no less than 6 free-wandering Treants in 3 hours on the Bandit Hill in WK near Q Hills.
Were do people camp these things? You can't convince me that a wandering MoB is camped. If it walks by, I kill it. Is there maybe a spawn point somewhere?
The treants can be camped in the South Karana zone pretty close to the bridge. The loc is around positive 1500 and negative 3500. Only two treants spawn and they have about 4 mins to respawn.
They are in South Karana when you zone in from N karana head left and follow coast till zone border, then hang right and they should be right in front of you. Oh and as long as you dont want to quest in Queynos Areas or need transportation i would do it. I am a wiz human and love them. oh and if you kill them as druid or ranger you WILL become KOS in your guild and most surely wont be able to train at all. so ad idea unless you want to kill a lot of gnolls in BB to get faction back. they drop a lot of small change and sometimes up to 5pp+ spare change. You WILL become encumbered fast from all that silver and gold ). they also drop lightstones, runes (various), Great Staffs (14pp even with low CHR to vendors), and useless wooden shards that are usually destroyed and only sell for like 8cp. I know all of this cause i have hunted here from lvl 22 to my current lvl 28 and wont stop till 32 )
