Raid Encounter

Uploaded July 24th, 2007

When spawned, players see this zonewide message: "As you place the remains of the dragon on the ground, a cold draft fills the air. Suddenly in a great vortex, the bones begin to rise up and move carried by the wind. They jut through the air and come down inside of the nearby theater. You hear the faint sound of bones clanking together, which is then followed by a massive moan. A sharp bolt of fear trickles up your spine as you feel anticipation fill the air."

Would like opinion's from ppl who have actually done this with a small force on whether or not a force: 65 shammy,war,cleric,bard,bst,chanter,ranger,mage,63 wiz and 59 cleric can do this.
We are all fairly well equipped and very experienced and regually do raids such as ferubi farming, aramin, shade ect.

Think a 65 BST, 65 Nec n 65 Cleric can take this? All have decent gear, w/ BST over 6k hps raid buffed? If not, what class should we bring?

Tried this guy last night with 8 lvl 65's and myself, a lowly little 61 druid tag along. First try we had no cleric but managed to get him to 48% b4 we wiped with myself and a 65 druid doing the healing. 2nd try was 3 full group of 65's and a cleric and he went down with no problems.
He does proc a cold based ae. My sv vs cold was buffed to 235 and his ae landed twice on me. I didn't have virtue and i only went down to 55% so i guess the ae really isn't too bad. took maybe 1100 of my hp's. After the kill I heard one of the 65's say he parsed the damage to be around 313k hp's.

No, we wiped on him with 8 I think it was...

65 Sham
65 Bard
65 Pal
65 Pal
65 Rog
65 Dru
65 Cle
65 Enc

Our problem I think was each person was boxxing a char while I was boxxing 3. He didn't seem so hard , but it's really difficult to heal and tank :P

Well, it isn't if you're staying in one general area. I've main tanked and main healed on a few raids and, to me at least, it's only a ton of stress when you're moving to the target. Once you're there, it's easy.

# Jul 18 2004 at 3:57 AM Rating: Default
I can easily and I do mean easily 3box a Cleric, Bst, and Ranger in HoH. The Ranger pulling and the Beasty tanking (he can get 6k hps buffed with virt and self). Just gotta make sure you know what you have targeted before you start healing because I have the cleric bot over to my side.

How long till the Turn-in npc respawns?
RE: respawn
# Nov 08 2003 at 6:56 AM Rating: Default
I turned in the bones for my guild and next day when I checked, Spirit of Garudon was up again. So the spawn time on the hand-in mob is less than 20 hours, hopefully just a few hours.
RE: respawn
# Mar 16 2004 at 5:12 AM Rating: Default
I think he spawns a few hours after Garudon is killed. I don't believe Garudon despawns unless he is killed.
This the Boss?
# Sep 25 2003 at 11:47 AM Rating: Decent
This the boss of Veksar? And also, how many people will it take to kill this dude? (Also like with the people, what classes you want and how many) All thanks appreciated. Thanks
RE: This the Boss?
# Oct 25 2003 at 8:35 AM Rating: Decent
I guess you could say he is the boss of Veksar. As for what you need in order to kill him, read the other posts here, looks like a minimum of two high-level groups, but more likely several groups in the 60-65 range. On the other hand, you don't want too many people, since his hit box is very small and you can't land spells unless you're within melee range.

It is extremely helpful to shrink all peeps and pets in the raid because of the small hit/casting box.

Can he be spawned multiple times?
# Aug 02 2003 at 7:38 PM Rating: Decent
Just wondering for those who have spawned Garudon, does the spirit despawn afterwards or could you spawn and fight dragon multiple times providing you had enough bone shards?
RE: Can he be spawned multiple times?
# Aug 18 2003 at 9:35 PM Rating: Excellent
Trigger NPC is a respawn of indeterminate length. He poofs when you do the hand-in.

Garudon
# Jul 14 2003 at 10:18 AM Rating: Good
I fought this mob the other night. I dunno if itwas changed or this is an error on the website. He was level 70, qute a bit tougher than posts here would lead to believe. We took a force nearly identical to something we would attack Trak with and he went off on us. He has a fairly large amount of HP so bring your DPS when you go. Also CR's are a breeze, any cleric can get just about anywhere in Veksar via pacify ad ITU, his aggro range is incredibly small and I was able to succesfully use all the stairs in the room to run about.

Behind?
# Jun 30 2003 at 2:06 PM Rating: Decent
Though the weapons coming off of this guy are DEFINITELY worth the effort, what about the armor? For a guy of this caliber, shouldn't the BP's AC be a tad higher? Just a thought, though I may be wrong. It just seems that a few of the items are below par in comparison to the rest of them and how difficult he is.

Yeah, the BP is pretty sad compared to some of his other drops ... there really isn't much to recommend it over a Vindi BP or other comparable items. His other armor drops, on the other hand, make him worth the effort. The sleeves are quite nice, the shoulders are quite usable, and the mask is excellent with good stats and an important focus effect that is difficult to find on gear with real stats.

As far as the combat itself goes, whoever made his hit box as small as it is needs to be shot. You must be in melee range (ie, you can hit him ... not he can hit you) in order to land spells. If you can do that, shaman slow does land (but he only slows "slightly") and most nukes do just fine. The challenge is staying in that range. Even with him pinned in a corner, its pretty easy to get out of the range. If this happens to your MT, prepare to have some random people get beat on for a bit.

He's defiantely much harder than Trakanon. He's more like the Horror Construct (but no flux, thank goodness) or perhaps Zlandicar. Once you learn to position him to deal with the hit box, he does get quite a bit easier than he appears to be at first.
RE: Behind?
# Jul 08 2003 at 12:16 PM Rating: Good
Take a gander at the usable classes on the BP.

CHAIN class usable, Vindi BP is not. I'd LOVE to get myself one.
RE: Behind?
# Aug 02 2003 at 7:32 PM Rating: Decent
Aye BPoHW should def goto Rogues or Rangers as they can't wear Vindi.

BTW Shaman (chain class) CAN wear Vindi BP.

# Jun 29 2003 at 3:17 AM Rating: Decent
i am guessing he is like the dragon in CT.. u need melee range to nuke~
RE: guess
# Jun 29 2003 at 9:36 AM Rating: Excellent
Yes, you must be in melee range to land spells on him as well.

Word of warning, due to his incredibly small melee range he may switch targets if the MT goes oor. That happened to us once and needless to say we wiped that time.
Garudon...
# Jun 29 2003 at 12:31 AM Rating: Excellent
Today on the Kane Bayle server at 1:15am EDT ( Sunday the 29th ). Garudon was taken down with 19. 2 clerics and 2 druids as healer, with a paladin as a tank.

He is roughly equal to KT, but with an AE. The AE is easy to resist IF you have 300ish save versus cold.

He dropped Ceremonial Kylong Shroud ( item already in database ) AND

DRACONION IDOL
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO DROP
Slot: RANGE
AC: 25
STR: +10 DEX: +5 STA: +10 AGI: +5 HP: +60 MANA: +40 SV FIRE: +8 SV DISEASE: +8 SV COLD: +8 SV MAGIC: +8 SV POISON: +8
Recommended level of 45.
WT: 0.2 Size: SMALL
Class: ALL
Race: ALL

As it has already been stated you must be right on top of him or else you'll get the oor message for melee.

He is only partially slowable ( as our necro said, shaman slow wouldn't land ), and has a max hit of 970ish.

Just to give you an idea of what you're dealing with. Our MT said that Garudon did roughly 250000 damage during the fight, and did from 600 to 800 dps. Our wizard said his 5500dd did about 1% of damage to Gorudon as well. I wasn't paying attention to % throughtout the fight since I was the token mana battery for clerics, i.e. 65 necro.

Seriously. to the person that said he's a little tougher than trak is full of it. Go one grp Trak, can take him with a very good grp. Go one grp Garudon and you wasted numerous hours farming theatre. CT is gimp compared to him as well, did ct with 14, no way of doing garudon with 14 either.

Supposedly is slowable, didnt land much on him other than malos, tash (i think) and malicious decay. No slow, no unresisted nukes, straight melee.

6 grps of 60-65 ToV/Ssra gear would be enough to take him. probably 5 as well but without great gear it could be a waste of 10+ possible hours to wipe and get no loot.

Welcome to PoP, elemental gear/time loot;
2 groups is possible, I am in TP first Garudon kill, we have about 3groups, many are tag-alone who doesnt really do anything at all.
I believe we only have 1 or 2 cleric at that time, she is chain CH from start to the end.

It was tougher than we thought (yes that guy say "little tougher" than Trak should be shot)
but its just another dead dragon who got momp'ed.

Drop was chestplate and a sleeve with decent stats all class but silk class can wear

# Jun 24 2003 at 4:55 AM Rating: Excellent
I am in the guild that sent in the Pic Above. Anthem Killed him with 30 members if memory serves. He has an extreamly short melee range. I mean short. You basically have to be touching him to hit him. is Slowable, has a 650 DD AE and Alot of HPS. It was hard to position him because of his short melee range. If someone got in front of you you were missing.

Loot was
Kylong Darkmail Leggings
Slot: Legs (duh!)
AC: 42
str +6, sta +5, wis +7, int +7, HP +70, mana +55, svd +5, svm +5, svp +5

If anyone has any info on the number of peolpe you need to do this guy could you plz post here or at least post here that i can E=mail you for the info, I, as a ranger, would truly love this BP, I'm an AoB junky and this BP would last me well into the elemental planes... I can easily get together a 65 group... Pally Ranger Cleric Shaman Rogue Mage... do you think this group of VT equipped characters could drop this guy? its sad, but this is one of the best and attainable BP's for a ranger that i can find.. that and i don't have the points to actually roll on any of the ssra/vt bp's atm hehe... thanks in advance for any help you can give

That should answer that for you.

As far as I know, hand-in NPC (Spirit of Garudon) is always up. After doing hand-in, he probably despawns, no idea how long it takes to respawn. But unless someone is fighting or has just fought Garudon, he should be up.

If you have a raid force that can take down say, Cazic Thule, this guy shouldn't much of a problem. Is about between Inny and CT in difficulty. He's level 68.

This guy will be very easy for guilds capable of VT, Emp, Tier 3 and 4 ect.
Probably a little harder than Trak, but he dropped very quickly.

Only annoying part was his very very small melee range. Made it hard to get everyone attacking.

He dropped Shoulders and Legs for us.
