Dropped on my second spawning of Garudon, he is trivial at 85 and 4000+ AAs.

Fight takes about less than five minutes. He doesn't hit hard and runs when low on HP, nearly all of my DoTs landed w/o resist except for the cold based attack slow that was resisted x3, not that it's even needed. Overall I did a few DoT's plus melee pet, couple of DD's later and a Remote Manaflux twincast w/ Sundew Blessing ended the battle and he dropped this for my ranger alt.

Now, I'm considering coming back to grab one for perhaps the monk and beastlord. Nevertheless, the drop for the dragonbone shard is tolerable but annoying. It does drop ONLY in the amphitheater as others stated below. It generally takes clearing the entire building 3-4 times to see one bone shard. That roughly translates to a 45min-1hr wait for 1 bone shard. So expect at minimum if camping straight to spend a few hours off and on collecting them.

Upon hand in, Garudon spawns down in the middle of the building, he is a belly dragon from what I noticed. So be sure to stand under him, he is also relatively small too which was a bummer. Expected more I suppose.

Looted one yesterday on Povar
At level 63 the damage bonus is listed as being 12 not 26, but I have noticed other Kunark weapons the damage bonus increases with level. Gonna try to upload a screenshot to the images.

Got this awhile back when I was fighting with friend in Veksar. He had asked if any named were up and I said Garudon was and he called in some guildmates of his and we killed Garudon. I was only one who could use it out of all that were there. *shrug* Is not bad

Look up the item "Soulstripper" one word. It looks like that. Got it for my 65 pally today. Kind of a waste since i cant use anythign in off hand and it max's for about 90 damage, but at max DEX it procs about 5-6 times a fight in valor fighting golems, so its still fun. i think if u get weapon affinity 5 it would be better, tap-tap-SLAM-tap-tap-SLAM-tap-SLAM-SLAM-tap. i cant wait =)

In all honesty if a SK or Paladin looted this item where a dual wield class was rolling for it, that is not a very good choice. No, not because this is 'good' for a dual wield class but because it sucks for a knight class. There are much dmg/dly ratio weapons available for knights. Yeah the proc is nice but you can't choose a weapon because of proc only. Your normal melee is still goign to out DPS your weapon procs. The amount you hit for goes up as you level, the proc does not.

SOE should remove the SK/Pal useage from this item.

Umm, how is this weapon a waste if you can't use anything in offhand? Your a paly, you can't dual wield. You bash with your offhand if your using onehanders.

there are many knight only weapons with much more dammage to delay that are dropable and buyable for under 10k that make the non kinght classes go and want to kill soe for them being unable to use them.
RE: looks
# Jan 20 2005 at 11:42 AM Rating: Default
its a waste because it has a poopie ratio for a knight class

Not a bad weapon! Nice 320 dd proc, shame is, it doesn't proc as often as say, Blade of strategy, still nice tho as it does get the mobs attention.

It seems we got opposite issues hehe, my blade of strat doesn't proc for a damn main hand or not, and my Dukatlos procs like there is no tomorrow...It also seems Ventanni's Dukatlos procs about as much as mine.

On a side note, a quick search of lucy shows that thier are only 3 weapons that proc this in the game. Obviously we know the dukatlos is one, and most prolly know the Delightful Orb of Forgotten Magic procs it as well (primary only though P), but the third one is a weapon i had not seen before, here is a link to it.

Chillwinter

As you can see it is also primary only, making the dukatlos the only Ice Shock proc'ing weapon able to go in offhand.....not that its a big deal hehe.

And while I am linking things, here is the upgraded version of the dukatlos, essentially dukatlos on steriods!

Ethereal Destroyer
I like mine =)

I have one and it's basically a Fleshgrinder on steroids. The damage/delay is about right for the difficulty that Garudon is, but the stats are good and the proc is pretty darn fun.

The proc is 320dd @ 65, not 318, and it will proc 2-4x a fight in a BoT group if you mainhand it.

2-4 times a bot group makes a difference if ur a bard or warrior, which class is that based on?

Proc Rate
# Sep 12 2003 at 7:04 PM Rating: Decent
I have one of these on the nameless server and I can tell you it is not a weapon that doesn't proc. When I have this in my main hand and my dex is maxed (which it normally is) I commonly see 4 or 5 procs a fight. Which when ya think about it is pretty good.

Also someone said that the proc was for 318....well its 320 for me /shrug. I only have Ingenuity 1 atm but its one of the next few AA's I plan to work on, and I look forward to messing with people as thier warrior scores a critical blast for 640!!
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 29 2003 at 7:46 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah, I'd like this for any melee class I have that could use it, thx.

I assume you're talking about the Blade of Carnage, from AoW. If so, this is nowhere near that weapon. Yes, the stats are somewhat similar, though greatly weakened. That being said, the BoC has a better ratio (15/20), and a MUCH better warrior proc. The proc on this is just a DD. From melee range, a DD for 300 is the same as a regular hit for 300. It generates no more or less aggro than that. If it had a stun proc, this would be a great weapon for a warrior looking to hold aggro. The reason the BoC is so sought after is because its proc is a pure aggro increase of 700. If the rest of your group/raid were relatively low DPS/low aggro, then this would be fine. For a high DPS group, this wouldn't really hold aggro as well as you might think.

That being said, this is a pretty interesting item, and I'd expect all classes (except Pal/SK, obviously) listed here to be interested in getting their hands on one. It could be a nice aggro weapon for a Warrior in a mid-level guild, a good offhand weap for a Warrior with a high aggro mainhand already, or a good DPS mainhand for use when not tanking. Rangers and Rogues might find the proc to generate more aggro than they'd like, given their penchance for normally high aggro. Great for a mid-level monk, ok for a higher level monk with access to better weapons (Tunare, XtC, IV, Cursed, etc). Bards and Beastlords might be most interested in this weapon as a nice way to increase DPS they lose from a lack of Double Attack (pre-AA, of course).

#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 24 2003 at 2:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You could have said this a bit nicer instead of acting like a duechebag. I would say YOU should be the one to "stfu" and put something useful down instead of telling someone they're stupid for putting down their opinion. There IS one born every minute...

pretty sure this is the stick he's talking about.
note that it doesn't drop from AoW, but from one of the warders in ST.

I would not mind having one

Ratio is ok 13/19 but the proc 318 Damn
I have ingenuity 3 so i get a critical proc every 5-7 procs that would be a critical of 636 Nice extra damage.

I cant imagine a better feeling than looking at the damage of this wepon whith max dex at lvl 65 with max haste. Being a paladin I would pass also to let one of those dps guys become da bomb =)

Good luck with the qeust and be ready to heal that nasty dragons breath
RE: I would not mind having one
# Jun 23 2003 at 5:44 PM Rating: Default
The problem is the proc rate. If it only procs once every other fight, ala the basketball of doom, it isn't AS useful, but it is still nice for the difficulty to obtain it.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 23 2003 at 6:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) As a 54 SK, I'd be happy to Delevel for this thing...nice just doesn't cut it it you consider the stats + the proc on this thing. Sure, I would never have to actually gain exp fighting for this puppy, but it's well worth the risk of going after this weapon, especially for a monk.
RE: I would not mind having one
# Jun 23 2003 at 8:44 PM Rating: Default
why the hell would you have to delevel?
RE: I would not mind having one
# Jun 25 2003 at 12:20 PM Rating: Default
Ironic that you people are flaming this guy because he didn't understand what "delevel" meant, and telling him to think before he posts, etc. Who is(are) REALLY the uptight a**hole(s) in this situation? "Delevel" is not by any means a common term; I wouldn't have known what he meant, but I probably wouldn't have gone to the trouble of posting to clarify it. But just because he said the word "hell", doesn't mean he's flaming. Get lives.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 24 2003 at 7:36 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) have you ever done any quests at all? ever had the risk of dying a few times to complete it? he actually says "but it's well worth the risk of going after this weapon" hence he would not mind dying a few times to get this. please think before you flame
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 23 2003 at 9:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) why the hell do people have to ask dumb questions?
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 24 2003 at 1:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) one comment, that dude who speaks of deleveling, anywho this is at you... read yer magelo profile, an yer future goals hehe seems more like a "I hope in a shot in the dark when hell freezes over"...please just so u can even have a remote idea of wtf i am talking about look this item up...
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 28 2003 at 7:53 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You need a lesson in items :-P...windworn handblade is 12 18, not 12 19. Fleshgrinder is 12 19 and has Fireblast for a proc, it is like 35-45k, if you do the math thats less than 100k. There is lots of droppable items close to this under 100k.
