I am trying to get a full set of this stuff. I am on a PvP server. stuff is not cheap. I wanted a set of it for any young alts I make. Id love to get a full suit. I also really like the color of blue, like a cobalt blue.

Most common drops seem to be Bracers, gorgets, cloaks, boots then leggings, pretty much in that order.

After I went to the west side of Shadeweaver Thicket, the Hard side... I finally after a ton of kills got a single Mail, eventually Arms and a mask.

I still have yet to see a belt or shoulders. I have also never seen the earing. I believe I may have seen one pair of gloves, but they are rare, at least AS rare as the Mail and Arms.

The headpiece dropped substantialy more on the hard side. mostly off the Guardians. I got 4. I leveled from about 21-25 only killing these, and the XP was getting thin, that dosnt count in my younger years doing the easier camps and cave.

So in all that time I have only seen a hand few of the rare, and none of what id call impossibly rare.

What's funny is how VI/Sony pushed everyone for so long to get into trade skills and made so many more recipes available, then they go and put something like this into the game which kills the prices on tradeskilled gear because it's free and drops off low level mobs. Whats the point of getting into tradeskills, if you can't sell anything you make because there are equal or better items available for free by hunting/questing or for super cheap in bazaar?

Small Races

On other hand this "new banded" doesn't work on Dwarfs not Gnomes, as such (and to my non-twinked dorf cleric using some Bronze Recondite armor pieces pitty) the banded market will still be available even though to a lesser ammount.

Doesn't work for large races either. Barbs and kitties are large but they have the option of med or large armor. Ogres and trolls do not.

Considering that my BST and a friend or two can own the trader cave starting around 13 - 14, there's really no reason to make banded for my friends. Then there's the fact it just plain looks better than banded.

Have compiled two complete sets already (for a warrior and bard) and well on the way to collecting a third set.

Being both a smith and a tailor, you're right, what banded market?

They also drop off the poachers and thugs on the easy side (eastern half), but, having said that, i have been hunting poachers and thugs from level 10 to 13 and have only gotten 2 bracers, 1 sleeves, 1 gorget and 1 cap. So its a very uncommon drop on the easy side. With the exception of the tunic, there is better stuff to quest for from the NPCs in the area, specifically the ghulem (sp?) armor and rebirth armor.

just confirming mjvecellio's comment, I haven't spent a lot of time hunting the poachers and thugs yet (I just made level 12 of some of these guys and gals)

I've killed quite a few of these folks that wander around a camp outside the caves and I've gotten a cap and belt off poachers but it's pretty rare.

colored banded?

Why do I get the feeling that this is going to put a hamper on the smith's banded market? Another way to stick it to the tradeskill arena? Man, when is Verant ever going to get their crap together?

This and all other visble pieces of Loda Kai armor are a cool looking dark blue color. The stuff drops fairly uncommonly from Loda Kia Traders and up. Got most peices from the Soldiers on the hard side of Shadeweavers.
