No Longer Range
# Dec 04 2002 at 1:44 AM Rating: Decent
This item has been "nerfed", if that's the right word for what was such a crappy weapon to begin with. It no longer has the "Range: 40" on there and it no longer goes in the range slot.

It is now primary only. I just tried it.

Yup, spotted a Gor Taku coming at me when i was trying to ruin my faction with them (i'm dubious to them and threatening to Shak Dratha for some reason, even though i've killed nothing but Loda Kai for 3 levels) So i decided to send the pet at it, only to find out he's named. Rubbing my hands in glee due to this being the first named MoB i've ever killed, i smack it between the eyes and grab his spear, only to find its a bit rubbish. Oh well, back to the murdering of humans and half-elfs because "The loda kai must be stopped", well thats my excuse anyway

Uhhhh next time you kill a poacher, you can see it ruins your faction with the Gor Taku. I have no idea why its setup that way. I see 4 distinct groups... the ppoachers that kill the cat people I guess, the cat people, the light aliens and the dark who try and take over there caves... and control them. but yea when you kill Gor Taku the faction for the lights goes down.

Actually, Naatron has encountered what may be a fairly common problem on the boards here. That being that when a post gets rated Awful by enough folks, it gets buried by the filters and the tiny italics text indicating that a filtered post exists is easily overlooked.

Since you could not read the filtered post that Retnaburn was actually commenting on, you had to assume that his post was referring to the one preceding the one he intended. If you change your Forum Preferences to Never Filter, you will be able to read the filtered post(s).

Nevertheless, I will say that calling into question another poster's command of the English language on a board that caters to an international audience should probably be avoided in future.
Quest?
# Dec 31 2001 at 2:59 PM Rating: Excellent
I hope this is for a quest....seeing as how it is off an uncommon spawn. Luclin seems to be much more quest-oriented at low levels to be sure, and hopefully, this is more of teh same. My kitty is hangin on to it for a while.

Yes, now that I have the silly spear, I would certainly be happy to see that it is part of some quest for something more useful, of course.

I really like it that Luclin seems to be brimming with quests from the very beginning. Aside from trying to roleplay my characters to the hilt, the other thing I really appreciate is a good quest. Actually, even a so-so quest beats straight hack-n-slash for me, but different strokes and all that.

Duh. Of COURSE you would like it to be part of a quest now. I mean, you already got the spear in your bank.

*Smirk*

Just pulling your chain, bro. Been following some of your stuff. I like your style. Been rating you accordingly... Excellent most of the time, but lower when you aren't up to my usual high standards. Heheh.

Good luck. See you in the game, dude.

Not sure that Seetheker is all that uncommon, but I could be wrong. I have seen him wander just about the entire zone and have seen him up again shortly after someone has beaten him down. Maybe... maybe not. Just going on what I have seen.

Weapon
# Dec 31 2001 at 1:43 PM Rating: Excellent
This <cough> fine weapon can be found on Seetheker, a named Shak Dratha that roams around the Thicket. When I killed him with my Beastlord, he had roamed almost up to the city gates.

Best Regards,
Alaryas

Pretty disappointing little weapon to have drop off a named MOB, even a minor one. Even when it checks successfully against the MOB's Magic Resist, it is still no better than Scorpialis for a Beastlord piercer. Indeed, if Scorpialis checks successfully against a MOB's Poison Resist, it is even better than Seetheker's Spear, but still pretty light for heavy duty work. I have both, but use Scorpialis and will likely discard this if nothing turns up useful about it soon, because there is much better SVMagic gear around.

I am not convinced that the +2SVMagic is sufficient to make a big difference against the casting MOBs I have heard exist (but have not personally confirmed) in the Western half of Shadeweaver's Thicket, but popping it into your Ranged slot might not hurt either.

I have had this spear drop for me three for three times against Seetheker, who has aggroed on me aggressively (up to level 14, at least) from all the bad Gor Taku faction I built up killing Loda Kai Brigands and Poachers.
