This looks the same as the darkwood stick, but the darkwood has +4int +4wis and +20 mana, but the darkwood has a 20dmg 50dly. So if you want the same look, but a heavy hitter, the darkwood is better, but if you want speed, stay with the staff
As the guy below us says, you can find it for 7 pp at vendors. In today's EQ economy, probably wouldn't sell for more then 5 to a player who know what was up, or 25 to someone who really wanted it and didn't want to wait. I found mine on a vendor in the Bazaar.
It _is_ a sweet-looking weapon, however. And very good for my cleric to get up his two-handed blunt skill. I have a Bloodforge Hammer, too; slight worse ratio (3.84, to 4 for this), but it's a very slow weapon (50 Delay).
[Funny - this page says, level to acquire -- 15. Right; the zones where it drops are 40th-level zones, maybe 30 at the lowest. There's nothing below level 25 in the Scarlet Desert . . . Again, a nice item for low level characters drops in a high-level zone. No wonder we twink and hand things out to others.)
I found this staff for sale in my WIZ guild in Neriak for 7 PP and had no idea what it was, other than it's stats were same as Fine Steel Great Staff on another vendor in the same room which sold for 75 PP. So I dumped my life's savings into it (in lieu of buying another spell) and it's been well worth it. Everyone keeps looking at my 5 WIZ and asking who twinked me and telling me how sweet it is (even though it's all I own aside from my starting robes). Good find if you can get a hold of one ... especially since it's a Luclin item.
This thing looks pretty cool equipped, it's crooked at the back, and the top has this metal looking fork. It's very good for my low level cleric. I tried it with my 36 ranger, and it doesn't quite have the uNF that I need, ya know? :)
Regardless, this thing makes anyone look like a total badass.
