According to eqitems this is clickable from inventory by all classes, which was tested to be NOT true on live servers. This is NOT clickable from inventory by a monk on live servers as of 2021.
Well, I finally decided to get this staff for my wizard just to free up a spell gem by using this on my bandolier for instances when Exodus is down. I spent hours over three days and this is the breakdown of the drops I had prior to finally getting my Di'zok Escape Staff...
an Alchemist's Acolyte 17- Vile Sarnak Brew 9- Ring of Di'zok 2- Greenish Metal Shard
a Wizened Herb Collector 22- Sandwich of Foul Smelling Herbs 3- Dark Scale Sleeves 1- Herbalist's Spade
I don't think this item was worth the 20 some odd hours I put in to get it, but I couldn't see abandoning the camp and walking away. At least I ended up getting some tribute from these drops, not to mention enough stat food/drink to last me a while.
I'd be shocked if you could, especially with an average price of 6k. If any class could use it from inventory it would have to be in the hundreds of thousands at least.
the interesting thing to me about this item isnt if it uses mana or not.. but whether its easier to cast while being attacked.. most my clickables are harder to interupt then my reg spells i wonder if this will follow suit with that.. if so this could be a veryyyyy nice item to have
I am a lvl 56 druid. Got this item last weekend in Chardok. It has to be equipped to be used. This item works like the lvl 57 succor spells it will take you to the safe spot in any zone. But it also use mana from you and all other members in your group well the ones that have mana. Haven't tried it while oom to see it it still work. Is this a bug? I thought the point of all triggerred items was that it doesn't use mana.
Well that mana drain you see is part of the proced spell. Both Succor and Evacuate have an effect included in the results that drains 500 mana from each party member if available. So, even if you are lom/oom while clicking this, the 500 mana drain effect will still take place with the other effects.
I have one of these, and have used it in Howling Stones while out of mana. It does not use mana from you or the other members. It works just like any other clickable proc item; no mana required. Hope this helps.
Usually, evac related spells ports the group to that spot from anywhere. Is this item only evac'able within Chardok only or will it get your group from anywhere to Chardok safe area? If it does work from anywhere, it sure would save some travel time to Chardok.
It's an Intra-zone evac. Meaning it will work from ANY zone, taking you and your group to the Safe Spot (SS) in that zone. In Chardok the SS is at zone out.
Also it's important to know that you must be level 56 or above to use the item, and currently the item is bugged so you cannot equip it either (unless you are 56+)
Emailed Absor about not being able to equip it... His response:
=============== I believe that particular item is buggy and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can.

Would really like to know if something specific drops this, or if truly is random anywhere in the zone . . . my guess is that it drops from a specific mob. If this is the case, please tell me which it is so I can go after the mob in my next Chardok group! =)
It drops off a named that spawns in front of the Herb Shack. To get there you go down the tunnel past where the Iksar Betrayer spawns for the Monk Epic pipe... you continue past the Captain Room (off to the right is where The Bridge Guardian spawns). Go down some more past the slaves, and when you get to the fork take a RIGHT. Going left takes you to the Treasury Building. To the right takes you to the Herb Shack. You can see the staff weilded on a Alchemist Acolyte standing outside the shack on the far side.
Its nice to see wizards and dru get a really nice item..unfortunatlly if the quick cast time is true it almost screams nerf me..VI has a reputation for that..who knows..As far as the NBG and CaWU arguments i wasnt gonna comment but i cant resist...these loot systems Are not used in 50+ areas like this unless your with close friends or guildmates. Simply because the game doesnt work that way. NBG is a great concept dont get me wrong...its just not viable in the high lvl areas as most dont use it so those that do end up getting screwed by those who dont and never have any items..But i wouldnt plan on getting an item like this in NBG unless your with a full group of guildmates..pickup groups wont happen
Well in my Chardok groups, I'm using CAWU every night. Because it's a new zone and there are tons of new items. But in older zones like Sebilis I use FFA, so you're right. Most pickup groups are FFA. :)
Just curious if this needs to be equipped to use. Some items require them to be equipped, some do not. Since there are no stats on this, the bearer would probably not want to have this equipped all the time.
You must be level 56 to equip OR use the effect. Which makes the staff extremely good because you get to cast Succor/Evac a whole level before you normally could.
Are you sure you have to be 57 to click it, or is that just a guess based on the level of the spell? 57 seems a bit high based on the level of the encounter, and the comparable proc levels of other items in the dungeon.

Wouldn't it be cool if the effect was random. So then if the group got it trouble, the druid or wizard would have to jump in and melee and hope that the effect went off, LOL. would make things alot more interesting wouldn't it.
Recieved one last night on CAWU. The cast time is VERY quick. Few seconds at the most (faster then gate). It ports the ENTIRE group to the 'SS' (safe spot) in the zone. You all reload the zone as to clear aggro.
Exactly. Basically if an item drops that WILL replace what you are using now, then you can roll on it. (easy way to test this is to ask them if they would be willing to give up the item it will replace)
But sometimes people win stuff on CAWU and sell it the next week. :/ This happens alot on Kael Raids w/ the quest armor. /sigh
Perhaps this is just the way people I played with used the term (I'm not saying its the right way) but we had a clear difference between Cawu and nbg. Cawu (can and will use) - to lotto you must be able to use the item and not have something better. NBG - basically Cawu but the person that needs the item the most will get it. Exampled barbed ringmail(high ac chain) clearly a ranger needs it more then a warrior cause warriors get way better ac items. A invis ring is more needed by a cleric then a wizard. Not that my wizard wouldn't love one cause I always need more spell slots open but it would be greedy to take the item from a class that can't get the ability. Not sure if other people use the terms in the same way or not
CaWU is better - as it prevents arguments from those anoying people that say I NEED so and so for my twink - or I NEED so and so to sell to buy so and so (or even those cases where a one class only item drops and that person already has better - but takes the item by default as they are the only one on it - and go sell it.
Either way I would rather just go with friends - you happil;y give it to them - as since you ll group often it benefits you as much as them - table scraps get handed down the guild of go to guild twinks
Never played with someone group that NEED item and then sell it. NBG on Xegony means, you WILL use it instantly over whats you usin now.
So, NBG on Xegony exactly as CaWU thats you talkin abouts. if me ever played with some low life that say " need " something and then sold it next day, them would be SOL as Guilds talk, and the person would just haves cut own throat.
This takes you to the safe spot (or egress) location within the zone. You reload the zone in order to clear aggro (unlike gating in the same zone you're bound in). This is a damned nice staff, and from what was reported before Al took these Chardok items down was that it is Insta-effect....0 casting time.
Oh, and lets not forget its 1h. Still equip your shield and add wis or int...this item is awesome.

Well if you know that the safe spot is unnatainable, except by evacuate, you can also tell that you won't be leaving, unless by way of teleport. I think it would be funny though for a wizard or druid to evac people to that spot, then gate themselves or something lol. Of course, GM's would get to them in an hour or two (five on rallos), so it wouldn't be that good, and to many people would be pissed. Twink your wiz or druid up at lower levels, with gate back to kelethin (on rz) and teleport before pking goes bad (gate takes to long when five orcs decide to jump you too).
