When I read about the new TSS Tier 2 Robe clicky, I was mad as a hatter.
After going through a LOT of blood, sweat, and tears my Guild awarded me an OoW Tier 2 Robe drop, and I fell in love with it *very* quickly. Then I saw the new TSS robe, with MUCH lower stats, but a clicky that capped 5 levels above my Anguish robe. Hell, I saw *twink* Enchanters wandering around with a Robe that (at first glance) appeared to put my Anguish robe to shame.
Then I looked at the clicky descriptors a little closer.
Mindreaver's Vest of Coercion (Anguish/OoW Tier 2): ------------------------------------------------------------- Effect: Bedazzling Aura Level Cap: 70 ANY detrimental spell with a duration longer than 24 seconds (4 ticks) has a 40% less chance of being resisted, for as long as this clicky self-only buff is active.
Thought-Attuned Silk Robe (TSS non-Raid Tier 2): --------------------------------------------------------- Effect: Attuned Channeling Level Cap: 75 ANY Mesmerize-type spell with a duration longer than 24 seconds (4 ticks) has a 60% less chance of being resisted, for as long as this clicky self-only buff is active.
Keikolin`s Mindhaze Robe (TSS Raid Tier 2): --------------------------------------------------- Effect: Keikolin`s Channeling Level Cap: 75 ANY Mesmerize-type spell with a duration longer than 24 seconds (4 ticks) has a 60% less chance of being resisted, for as long as this clicky self-only buff is active.
At first glance, the TSS robes *both* have a better clicky than the Anguish one. Not only is the -resist modifier better, but it has a higher level cap, as well. But the TSS robes only affect *mesmerize-type* spells; the Anguish robe affects *ANY* detrimental spell (slows, cripples, DoTs, mesmerizations, Charms, etc) so long as its base duration is greater than 24 seconds (4 ticks).
Now, granted, there's a dimishing rate of return on the Anguish robe the higher the level of spell cast, as illustrated below.
Level 71 spell: -36% chance to resist Level 72 spell: -32% chance to resist Level 73 spell: -28% chance to resist Level 74 spell: -24% chance to resist Level 75 spell: -20% chance to resist
The spells I use the most in a combat situation (raid or group) are Bewilderment Rk. II (Lvl 72), Fractured Consciousness Rk. II (Lvl 71), Echo of Tashan Rk. II (Lvl 72), Wake of Subdual Rk. II (Lvl 74), Thin Air Rk. II (Lvl 73), Dreams of Veldyn Rk. II (Lvl 72), and Color Collapse Rk. II (Lvl 74). By far and away, I use a Tash/Bewilderment/Fractured Consciousness combo more than anything else so, when using my Anguish robe's clicky, the resist mod is usually no lower than -32%. That's more than reason enough to not only keep using it...but to keep *wearing* it, too. It's still got a few miles left in it. =)
Of course, I'd sure love having a Thought-Attuned Silk Robe at hand, too. Stats aren't high enough to justify actually *wearing* it, but the Attuned Channeling click-buff would certainly earn it a coveted spot in my inventory of clickies. I can think of more than a few raid situations where a -60% resist mod to mezzes (Queen Sendaii, anyone?) would've spelled the difference between success and failure.
Should the time ever come where I'm in a position to get a TSS Raid Tier 2 robe (Keikolin`s Mindhaze Robe), I'd probably break down and wear it over the Anguish one; especially considering the upgraded Tash hate-reducing effect. But that day's a whiles off, yet.
I'm wondering about the effect Bedazzling Aura. Since it doesn't say it decreases the effecty by 10% over the cap, I'm thinking it does nothing for any spell over 70. I'm wondering if this can be tested.

10% per level over cap means 10% of the focus' original %... not 10% period.
(worn) Hushed Echoes - Decrease spell/bash hate by 80% @lvl 75, poison allowed. This is basically the tash hate reducer - upgrade of the Anguish glove focus.
(clicky) Keikolin's Channeling, 2 sec cast, 24 sec duration - -60% resist mod on mezes.
