The reason all the boots are the same is because Verant doesn't want to jack players (go figure) for being on the "wrong faction." What would you do if Thurg boots gave SoW, Kael gave Spirit of Cheetah, Skyshrine gave Scale of Wolf, and Harmony gave Port to Toxx?
These boots would be great if you're fighting in Kael. Most of you wouldn't think druids are actually useful there. They do a LOT of charming on the Drakkal dogs. Go figure. ;)
This is the dropped form of SoV quest armors!!! THat is that same with all the other dropped armors in PoG and the two other new ones in PoH! They all have the same effects. Just the skyshrine and the kael quests have better stats (example: Berserkers BP and Thurg (dont know name) bp = 47ac Skyshrine bp= 54ac Kael bp = 59ac) but the effect stays the same! There is no imagination to it! it is just the dropped form of SoV armor
ive been comparing all the boots from the 3 velious quests and plane armor to upgrade my boots but damn these things suck. Id rather wear leather (well not really). And charisma? i dunno what they were thinking addin that on here. Thats like putting intel on em. Ok we can charm but hey charmm sucks at least ours does.
WTF is verant on crack? By the time you are high enough to get this you already have sow, and cha is crap for druids. This boots suck, im going to stick with my golden eferrti ones :)
For those complaining about the effect please do something, Look at all the class armor dropped on the plane. I believe this is the only one with a proc. Also with a high enough Charisma you can charm critters to kill for you and double your farming. Be happy, I know I wil when I get my Farmer high enough to get them.
lol, i would complain too if i were a druid, but as it happens i am a chanter, and i am always begging to trade breeze for SoW, so havin these boots as a chanter would be just plain awesome, but the stupid boots are druid only. druids have the absolute least need for these, any other class would be ecstatic to have em. i look at them and i think hmm.. awesome chanter boots, and a druid would look at them and think hmm.. this is junk for the level. this is just one of the many items that have effects that match the classes spell. a certain wand comes to mind that casts alliance, which any class but chanter would die for (chanters already have better with benevolence) but alas it is chanter only. go figure /shrug
I complained for a very legit reason. Druids now have 4 boots that right click SoW, a spell that takes only a sliver of mana at the levels needed to get these boots. 4 boots... why? No imagination? maybe.
As for charisma, it's nice to have when buying and selling, but if you think it's going to help you get items with a pet, you are smoking a big fat crack pipe. Even the one spell that is supposed to make your pets not attack you when it breaks dosen't work. No druid I have ever spoken with has used charm as anything other than a fun toy to try out and then put away. It is NOT a reliable spell.
Lastly. Register with Allakhazam's, so Druids know who you are and can avoid giving you buffs and GG's.

Actually.... all the new planar armor (well, most of it, certain pieces) has right clicks. These are drop equivalents of the new SoV quest armor. These are also on the 2nd floor, and much more rare than the other armor. So learn some info before you start spewing off crap please. Several classes have drops on the 2nd floor. Clerics, warriors, and Shadowknights I know have drops in Plane of Growth, which are very similar to the various SoV quest armor equivalents. This is part of the new revamp of the zone...
As for the boots usefulness, I just got these tonight, and although I wear them instead of my verm boots, I like the stats on the verm boots better. Verm boots are only 6ac (these are 8) but give +13agi and +5str. +15mana as well I believe. More useful than +13cha and +10mana. Oh, and the 1 point in the 3 main resists. The 13agi does gives some AC, so depending on your agi, you may end up getting MORE ac from wearing verm boots than these, though these have a higher raw rating. What I wish they would do is make it a perm effect. Like, you wear the boots, you have sow. Or at the LEAST, remove the cast time. I think verm boots and jboots would be better for most people. Oh, and these look like bright green tinted Ry`Gorr. Anyway, that's my opinion of it... All other "new" drops are superior to their former counterparts, however these are not...
For the druids who dont know You can Charm animals, for charm to work better you need Higher CHA. As for SoW in boots very nice how many times have you been kiting a mob and sow runs out and you happen to be low on mana its just you and your ES vambraces.. Use boots continue kite dont die.
It's funny how many people complain about effects on items that are from and for their class. It frees up a spell slot. That right there is an awesome benefit. The Reason why they don't give this to other classes; Balance. They don't have to think about if this is unbalancing or not. Druids already get SoW, this just lets them have a free spell slot.
Actually, if you are in a fight, you probably don't want to spend the 5 or 6 seconds required by this armor to cast sow, or will probably get interrupted. Most armor procs are what? 3 or 4 times normal casting? bleh that's gonna hurt. Get Jboots =)
the shaman sow boots(part of their epic) are instant(but self only), I'd HOPE that they used their heads on this one too and made it instant as well, even if it is self only
All the recent high end DRU only shoes are triggered SOW. Kael, Thurg and Skyshrine are all SOW boots. This pair is even called "harmony" but does not grant that spell. Yes, these are cool shoes, but c'mon verant, have at least SOME imagination.
