man oh man. if only verant would grant us sk's and pally's dual wield. whew. this would go great with the updated black rock maul of crushing(20 dmg/23 dly)

It's obvious that the reason that the ratio is as good as it is is because you don't dual wield. This way you can use shields and be the defensive hybrids that Verant talks about.
