I had just created an Iksar monk, and the minute I logged on, a level 60 monk gave this to me. I was very happy, until I realised it was identical to the cracked staff. I now use one of each on my monk to get the 1hb up.
It'll do until I get my Cold Iron Morning Star. 8)
In the Field of Bone, you can forrage an Iksar Phalange. Monk's cannot use them, but necro's can give them to their pets, or just use them as throwing knives.

A forraged weapon? How novel! I wonder what quest it's used for.

Yes, I foraged this last night in Dragon Necropolis. Another weapon you forage there are throwing knives which are supposed to be 'dragon claws'. I spent about 5 miserable hours in that zone and got half a stack of knives and foraged this staff 5 times. Stats are the same as a cracked staff,but given the difficulty of getting to this zone it must have some use. My guess is, there is a quest in Dragon Necropolis for some decent (or maybe really nice) druid/bard/ranger type staff...or maybe only druid or ranger if the staff can only be foraged with 100+ forage skill...who knows.

There are also foraged weapons in Field of Bone. Phlange I believe they are called, don't think that they have any use either.
