NPC Roshmael in Mountains of Rathe is a custodian of the Concordance of Research. She evidently used to have a surname. Now it's just Roshmael. She's in the merchant (gypsy) camp in the middle of the zone.
I would also like to point out that the Runes and Research Vol I /does/ indeed say you also need a quill and a parchment to create runes. I only just today got that and the Concordance of research from the dark elf merchant in South Ro.
When the dark elf who gives you this also gives you the ingredients book (which you get for giving a lightstone, the Concordance comes with the Greater Lightstone), it doesn't tell you of two more ingredients you need to create the practice runes. Those two items are A Quill and A Piece of Parchment. You will need two Parchments, since the quill replaces itself after making the rune, and the second parchment is for the second rune (Aeza and Beta). Afterwords you then can combine the two runes to make the Practice Rune (Complete). All this is for is to get your research skill up. Trivial 21.
What you also need to realize is that there is MANY levels of Runes. The first practice rune will take you to 21 that is true enough but the higher level ones will take you nearly to 200.
Was killing the wisps to get the greater light stone for the turn in, and had only been getting light stones. On my Second copy of Runes and Research Volume II, I discoverd that Mrysilia has the Concordance in her inventory for approx 11pp. (10 and change, but will vary depending on toons CHA). This on the Tunare(E'Ci) server.
Most likely she never actually sells it herself, but people often sell it back to her (since it's worth more than the Greater Lightstone that you spend to get it) and then she'll have it in her stock until the zone resets or someone buys it. With the more recent merchant UI you can actually see whether an item is part of the merchant's "regular stock".
Frycook, enchanter of the 6th circle, has been learning spell research on karana.
This knowledge from the web is very useful http://mythiran.allakhazam.com/practice_walkthru.html
The concordance is used the make the azia and beza runes. This combine does not seem to give skill ups. Combine the azia and beza in your tome to get a chance for a spell research skill up.
Of course you could get the pages for spells and skill up that way. You have a choice.
So far young frycook has been working on the apprentice runes. The Bixie wings can be found in Kithicor and Misty Thicket. I found Froglok Eyes in upper Guk off the frogs near lower guk that carry fine steel weapons.
Large snake rattles drop in east and west commons.
Give Myrsila (npc) in gypsy camp in North Karana a greater lightstone (GLS) drop from a willowisp She will give you a concordance of research sell it back to her for 8 to 10 pp depending upon faction and charisma ~ great little plat generator for non-research toons particularly as there are numerous willowisp spawns in NK
Can this be used for researching that is not considered "practice"? I have tried using this to research all my lvl 16-24 research only spells, and it hasn't worked. If not, can anyone tell me why/what I have to use?
Afraid not - i think the 180pp price that was displayed here earlier was a long way off - as the other post mentions, you can get one for handing in a greater light stone at the gypsy camps, and you can get a GLS for free from wisps or for 8-10pp from vendors/players.
It is a nice container though - i've used it instead of bags or backpacks for some of my characters (even non-casters) - it is very light and takes 6 giant items.
No, I dont think that you will be rich on that deal. The Concordance of Research is normally given to you in exchange of a Greather Ligthstone by either the Gypsy in NK or the DE merc. in S.Ro. (depending of your good/evil alignment)
As many newbies do that and immediately sell it back to the vendor it can be bougth at many vendors for around 12pp.
