I quested this on my cleric quite some time ago. Yes you HAVE to be 55 to quest this bracer and you have to have Dubious or higher faction. My cleric was dubious to Servants of Tunare when I handed the idols in and got the reward.
Follow Malory's posting on which NPCs drop the idols, it is accurate.

Posted:Nov 09 2002 at 10:00 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hi there. I have Idol of Corruption AND Disease if anyone wants to buy the MQ on The Nameless.
.....um, the uncommon idol is Erosion and the rare one is Decay....Idol of Corruption drops almost every time off of the Prophet dude, and Disease is very common...anyone that had Erosion and Decay would already have these idols, almost certainly. There's really no point trying to sell them...
This has more wisdom, more mana, and a net increase of +5 to overall saves. Not to mention that poison and disease are the hardest saves to raise.
Ok, you take a hit on AC, HP and sv fire and cold. For many that would be a decent tradeoff, for a bigger mana pool, and higher poison/disease/magic resists.
For someone who would already be grinding in kael arena, this would most likely be a nice upgrade, and since its not likely you'll a bunch of tunare clerics on one raid, you'd likely be defaulted all the idols if they dropped.
This is an old post, I know, but I'm not entirely a rich Cleric, or have the time AND money to get my smithing up to make cultural ... maybe it is better, I don't know, but the fact that I spent 30 minutes with my Guild and got all 4 idols for a 10 wis bracer with other stats ... worth it to me.
I don't think it is *all* a matter of if this item is better or worse then the best of the best cultural armor. Many of us (including myself) roleplay our characters extensively. Questing is a part of roleplaying for many people. Think if it this way: someone who I met in the EQ Equivilant of heaven (realm of my diety) asked me to do this quest. I'm darn well gonna try to do it. :)
I just wanted to confirm that Malory has posted correct information on this quest. It took me nearly a year (about 40 Kael raids) to get all four drops. Corruption, Disease, and Erosion are easy to get in one night, but Decay is very rare. It finally dropped for me last night off of a random cleric, not a named.
The mobs that drop them are in Kael Drakkel Arena.
Idol of Corruption drop off Gkrean Prophet of Tallon Idol of Disease drop off Semkak Prophet of Vallon Idol of Erosion drop off Priest of Vallon/Tallon Idol of Decay drop off Cleric of Vallon/Tallon
The First 3 were very easy to obtain and were fairly regular drops. The final Idol of Decay was a SUPER rare. We'd gone to the Arena many many times and had never seen one drop and I had started to believe it was a myth. ;p But... it wasn't it finally did drop off of a Cleric.
This can definately be Multi-quested as I did it last night, however...there are some things to keep in mind.
Both myself and the person MQing with me were High-Elf Clerics, above 55 and had amiable faction w/ the quest-giver.
I'd be a little worried if the person MQing the first or first couple of idols didn't have those above requirements.
The NPC is like most Velious mobs..you don't get text after the first few turn ins, so don't assume if he doesn't say something after the 1st person MQ's that he ate the idol and it didn't' work.
It's an amazing bracer for a cleric, and it looks just like the cle only PoG armor that drops from mobs there.

What the hell can woodies warriors or high elf cuty wizzies do to get those armor ? as a high elf enchanter, follower of tunare, i m screwed. Now I have to camp the arena and pray tunare (that ironic, isn t it ?) for the torn enchanted silk to drop and win taht lotto, and get those gems then
I hate druids. Verant gives them everything, and they still complain. I'm so sick of druids thinking ever item in the game with wisdom is for them. Druid's are the most greedy and selfish class in the game. I'm not even going to get into how many times I've died to a tain some druid caused getting in over their heads "kiteing". Rock on Verant for giveing Highelf clerics something to look forward to, and for not giveing druids yet ANOTHER good item. Any druids complaining about this should just get their Gloves of Earthcrafting and be quiet. And someone posted that every class an elf can be gets a quest here, where's the warrior stuff? Hehe
Tilbin Blackhammer Level 45 cleric of Brell Serilis
Funny, when anyone says something would be good for <insert class/race>, someone else just has to slam them. Religious wars are so idiotically futile.
Likely some truth to this tirade, else Tilbin lives in a vastly different fantasy world from the rest of us in EQ. Having seen the good, the bad, and the monumentally moronic cross my path in this game over the years, I can sympathize with Tilbin to a degree.
However, it is never excusable to generalize in your criticisms, Tilbin. If you would but provide specifics and not tar all Druids with the same brush, your comments would be not only acceptable, but accepted.
wow, somebody has their head way up their @ss. way to generalize. ...thats right, ALL druids in the game are greedy, incompotent, train-starting fools who ruin the game for everyone. yeah thats right... except not. you are an idiot. we get screwed on gear, and thats why you see the (few) druids complaining. think before you talk.
I see no reason why this couldn't be a druid item, save maybe if its plate. Truth is, druids do NOT have the item selection that clerics or even shamans do. So a search on some of the better gear out there and it's plate only, or plate and chain. I have a 54 druid and a HIE cleric main and there simply isn't gear for druids. I remember looking at gear on this site countless times for my druid and saying, darn, my cleric could use that, but she's already got something better. And no that's not merely because she's my main. In my guild you earn points for event you attain, and the druids all have among the highest point totals because they have nothing to spend their points on. My guild did Rumblecrush the other day and he dropped a ring and a belt that I would have loved to have, but druids got them because they actually could use them, and I had spent my points on items they'd drool over but can't possibly use. (And ironically the third drop was DRU-MNK-BST only and a monk got that because their totals are even higher.) Hate people, not the class, because as levels progress, you're going to find yourself in much more enviable positions than most druids who help get you and everyone else get places (and sometimes get very sick of doing it, those selfish bastages who want time to do things for themselves!) and then are expected to hang back and back-up heal mostly, while otherwise being considered a sub-standard wizard. I can make cases why any class is better than any other, and druids can do a little of about anything except tank, but I'm much happier being a cleric than a druid, and just respect those wanderers/preservers/hierophants out there for what they do and can do. I like to see druids get stuff because I know what they go through (to a point, my druid is *only* 54) and they deserve it even when they are competition for those priest-type items I want.
Man you must be an EQebayer.... Prior to the Velious expansion druids really didn't have any execellent gear or even post planer quest armor. clerics were hooked up in the orginal EQ. For example your Gold quest armor or aegis of life quest you guys had it made. Also BTW 90 percent of the druids that play are cool there is only that small fraction that makes all of us look bad.
I'm realy sad to hear this about druids in your post Tilbin. Not all druids feal that way about loot and such, I do not complain when items such as the triplated hammer thing from the dain would not even be considered for a druid for example. I realy do pitty your hate for druids and most druids that compain about that are auctioning in gfay druid items for some druid twink they want to make
Were you smoking pot when you made this post? Because you obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about. How about actually trying to look beyond your greedy little face for five minutes? Clerics have more & better items to choose from. The Cleric epic gives a 96% res. If anybody is greedy, it is you. You're one of those people who want Verant to give you every item and make it 'uber'. So STFU you greedy little *******.
ahhh stfu you don't know about druids maybe you should play one and besides if they gave us all the wisdom stuff why do we have this? and why is tunare a high elf? she's the goddess of nature, and druids, so she should be a wood elf or half elf!
Your a fool. Druids aren't a selfish class, Necros are a selfish class ;) But that doesn't make all Necros selfish. Just as a cleric getting a group killed for using the last heal on the wrong person doesn't make all Clerics stupid.
This isnt a druid item, druid items have banded ac and plate weight, since str isnt one of their starting stats. This is a cleric item cause its better than plate ac at chain weight, anf str is a starting stat for clerics. Make sense? also it's a tough, but achievable class based quest that actually has half a plot, couldn't possibly be for druids. Now, all sarcasm aside, there is a dru quest from growth for sweet gloves (kinda balances things, quest is much tougher, and produces a bit better item) (one of the few areas that dru quest is in any way equiv to a clerics) My only real problem with these quests, is that there are no similar quests with, for example, Cazic Thule's minions in fear for his priests, or for any other religion at all but the overrated, overplayed, boring, tree-hugging, animal snuggling, obscenely cute, pansy faerie queen's. Don't worship tuna variety rules

Now onto the idea of "Verant gives them everything" which isn't true, clerics and shammys have a hell of a lot more quest at lower levels that are their class only or druids can't use...Totamic armor and cleric quest armor are some examples. You guys can also wear chain and some plate mail. We also don't get any decient armor before...40+ maybe, nothing very good for a Tunic (Cleric BP), Boots (cleric quest boots) , Gloves (Cleric quest gloves) , Shoulders (clerics get those epolets..7wisdom), Belt (clerics get that 7wisdom one). Ok, now for the Gloves of the Earthcrafting quest....TUNARE ONLY! and hard as hell! have to kill the Vindicator in Kael which is one tough MoF....I am sure that you didn't look into this or reseach it very well......
I have all 4 idols, but the guard ask for the add of Templar or Knight. Templar ( lvl 55 cleric) , Knight ( lvl 55 paladin). Does it mean that I have to wait til I am level 55 to do this quest?
Can some one verify for certain that you need to be 55 to do this quest? I had heard there is a cleric on the Prexus server that did this at 52. My cleric currently is 53 and has all 4 idols.

Idol of Corruption drop off Gkrean Prophet of Tallon(common) Idol of Diease drop off Semkak Prophet of Vallon(common) Idol of Decay drop off Cleric of Vallon/Tallon (rare) Idol of Erosion drop off Priest of Vallon/Tallon(rare)

Um, what about the other 90 percent of the playerbase? Where's my Karana specific quests? Or my Cazic-Thule specific monk items? :)

OK, I'm gonna have to smack ya now. Let's see here...where did you go wrong? 3 places it looks like. First- They're lore...impossible for a pair. Second- They're cleric only....no druid can wear Third- I have NEVER seen a High Elf Druid that was PC controlled. (Tunare doesn't count)
OK.....I see you have been corrected on the fact that only High Elves can use it and also that only Clerics can use it......it is also interresting to note that you say you would like *pair* of them when it is clearly tagged LORE.
arguably hehe. Are you trying to start a priesthood discussion ? protestants vs. catholics and such ?
I have yet to notice any druid paying much respect to Tunare. anyway...
Fine if there is a quest for the droods, but I enjoy the limited target group a lot. I probably won't complete my epic any time soon. But this gives me a nice clear objective.
This was gotten from a Cleric quest in PoG there is a Druid Quest as well though I dont know the NPC name that gives the quest off hand. In fact I think the quest was completed, but dont remeber which site had the item listed. I think http://gameznet.com/eq

uhm, its high elf cleric only. so why u wanna sell a verm br
aye it is nice but why would it be HIE only after all they have ones of the highest base wis in the first place.whats next a nodrop erudite only +10int bracer?
Check gameznet.com/eq they have some of them posted. Wizards need scrolls from Necropolis. Scrolls have + 3 Wis but dont equip anywhere. My guild has gotten 3 Scrolls not sure if there is a 4th because we havent tried turning them in since they No Drop and both held by Non Wizards.
Paladins need to kill the 3 Corrupted Spawns in Wakening Lands and the great corrupter in the Plane of Hate (Innorruk I think. Possible need the Stone for the Ranger Epic)
Enchanters need a Tome or Tomes from somewhere in Kael.
Mages need Tomes but thier possible locations were not mentioned in the quest text.
I'm at 200 wis and have been since I was 25th (took forever to get the last 2 points)
Nonetheless, I"m excited about this item not only for the other stats it has, but because that extra 5 wis over my gold bracer will mean I can ditch another piece of crap that I'm wearing just for the wis... say my goblin soulcaller. I'm always on the lookout for good wis items, I keep my wis at 200 but continue to upgrade AC and other stats on a regualr basis.
AN extra 6 AC. 5str, 50 mana. and 10 each SVD SVP and SVM are all serious upgrades over my gold bracer, and I'll get the bonus of being able to pick up a nice new neck item as well.
