Ok, this sword is 32/40... go look up tempered lance and axe and you will see both are 32/40 like this tempered claidhmore is. I don't hit for 80-90 with this, i hit for 138 max at lvl 52 with this. Jmace in the same time will hit 4 times if you are duel wielding them. That would mean you would have to hit 4 times for the full 40dmg to just barely out damage me with this, and having a 42 monk i also know that I never quad max hit. I usually will get 1 or 2 high ones, and 2 middle dmg or lower dmg hits. Btw, jmace arn't that great anymore.. i can name numerous items a lot better for monks, one of which is the gorgon spiked club (12/23, 5ac, 2str) or SoS. But all of this is irrelevent, monks are made for dmg, that is why they can kick for 100+ at lvl 50 and get duel wield. It is also why I am a paladin and have about 150 more ac then a monk my same lvl and several hundred more hp. About the 32/36 being better then epic you are incredibly stupid if you think that. Lets see, 32/36 OR 35/40 with 15ac, 20str, 10sta, 15wis, 70hp, 30mana, 10sv all and a 150 fire based dd. Hell, the 35/40 15ac alone beat 32/36 imo. Not to mention you can 2h bash with epic without having to learn it with the AA skills which is a nice addition to stun casters and help do a lil more dmg. Other benefits are epic weighs 0.1 and has a pretty cool look that is unique to it. Primal Velium Claidhmore on the otherhand owns this without a doubt. I bought this bad boy for 1.5k, pretty sure i got a GREAT deal cuase i see light velium claidhmores (30/39) for 1-2k all the time and they are not near as good. I bought it mainly to do more dmg output and taunt better when i am grouped, and i use Sarnak Battle Shield and Sword of the Morning when soloing. I think this sword is better then shield and sword though becuase i seem to lose less hp per solo fight when i use it v Sword and Shield.
Think before you speak brother, i own a tempered Velium CLAIDHMORE version, and its stats are 32 40 for a fact.....i will e-mail in screenshot in asap.

Could anyone guess in about how many months will these exquisite/tempered/super velium weapons with great ratio but no bonuses will be sold on EC/gfay market? I mean the uber guilds will be overflowing with these in a bit unless these items are ULTRA RARE or something...
Like when Shadows of Luclin expansion comes out will it be like Peerless Shadow Steel Partisan 57/60 2wt (I'm trying to imply that possibly a lot of "Shadow/Order/Discord" items will come out in the new expansion making the velium weapons not as good and soon.. Wurmslayers and Argent Defenders will sell for 1k (hopefully =D)

#Anonymous,
Posted:Mar 16 2001 at 2:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This weapon is the #1 damaging weapon in the game, To find whats #2 all the way down to the last. go to www.Castersrealm.com and choose warrior class, then Most Powerful Weapon link. You'll see the petty epics rotting in 20th to 30th place, theres better out there that requires alot less time and Bull **** to acquire. This is one of them. Now for 1 more delay just go get a Exquisite weapon.. boo hoo you hit 1/10 of a millisecond slower.. my god thats only noticeable by a few insects/animals on this planet and humnas are not one of them. So if your looing for ratio over look dont get your epic, if your looking for some crappy effect like lightning on your blade or some pathetic leaves circling it then waste your time on an epic and satisfy verants goal by wasting your time. Only reason theres so many weapons in the game is to divert you from enjoying what you have. Thats what expansions do. Thats what verant wants, and on top of all there lousy half assed, short cuttin, impractical, un-needed, amateur ways of doing things is never cleaned up with an apology or logical explination because you cant give logical explinations when your fictional universe is just other ones Such as D&D and Rifts concocted together to form a quick money maker accidentally gone popular. SO if your boggling your mind on what to get, Be happy if you can buy it, be sad if you have to quest for it. Cause in everquest it aint no quest its a random time table where what you want only comes 1/4 of the time.
Yes, the attack / damage ratio is awesome in this weapon. It also takes more damage than that of the epic. That is very clear...
Now, i play a necro on The Seventh Hammer, this is my only character. His name is Griever, and at the moment he is lvl 29, so i dont know how the game is at high levels, but i did notice something that may not have caught other peoples eyes.
This weapon has NO added stats. No STR, no AGI, nothing. Now, i dont know if those bonuses are useful at high levels because i have never gotten that high, but i just wanted to menton that it has no stats other than an awesome damage delay ratio.
I would really appriciate replies "civilized ones" letting me know how those stats effect at higher levels.
It's all about the damage ratio. Nobody can cast a buff that turns your weapon from a 20 damage 40 delay, to a 20 damage 30 delay weapon. Oh, you can be hasted but that works just as well on a better ratio weapon. Rogues and their backstabs are the only variations.
"This weapon has NO added stats. No STR, no AGI, nothing. Now, i dont know if those bonuses are useful at high levels because i have never gotten that high, but i just wanted to menton that it has no stats other than an awesome damage delay ratio."
Those kind of bonuses (Str, Agi, etc.) aren't all that meaningful at any level, not just high levels. Stats (outside of the int for pure casters and wis for priests) have less effect than many people seem to realize.
Dex affects how often you proc, and missed notes/fizzles
Stam? 90 stam on my SK- 600 hps. same SK with Crustacian armor, 125 stam - 890 hps.
Agi? Play a monk and find out
The problem is not that one point will make a big difference. The problem is that it takes about 5 points to see 1 point of difference. Which is why you see with pop that the new stat caps make so big a difference.
And if you are saying the same about int/wis (which you arent, but im adding since we are talking about basically every stat), then make a wizzy and see what percentage of your mana it takes to cast your level 1 nuke. Then twink it out til he has around 200 int and see how much.
at higher lvls you are almost always grouped with others that can buff the crap out of you anyway...i used to like stats, but i realized that having a good dam/del is much better because...it just is. the same thing goes for armor...AC is everything; same concept. im only lvl 30 and i wield a mith 2h so even at my lvl i dont worry about stats on weps much...my $0.02
while i appreaciate the abundance of info on this page, i could care less how much better jade maces are. jade maces can kiss my hairy crack. im so sick of jade mace this and jade mace that. by the way, most eq people do suck. i meet occasionally people who arent jerks.[to anyone who isnt a jerk, thanks for playing!]i myself am a jerk, and knowing this allows me identify fellow jerks. back to subject at hand - this is a great sword. no doubt it is worthy of my praise, and there are many great weps with SoV now, there were before too. anyhoo this weapon was made for twinking/selling. not newbie twinking[if i see a sub 30 with this i will eat their liver with some fava beans and a nice kiante]cause no one would ever afford the k's upon k's its worth, but a 55-60 whos tired of his class would pick one up and feed it to one of his other char. NOT to mention getting epic weps takes a while and in that time you do need a wep!!!!! tragically, i gotta go shoot myself in the foot while realizing i will never get this weapon due to me being bad at all i do[except talking]. if you have it great if you hate it or think it has superiors, dont post here!! while ive wasted your time i hope you all take a lesson AND STOP POSTING USELESS INFO!!
A_Programmer04: What, that stupid thing about giving monsters intelligent attack routines instead of just massive amounts of HP, ATK, and mana to make the game challenging?
A_Programmer01: No you givling, something even better! Let's make weapons drop that are even better than most epic weapons!
A_Programmer04: Haha, that would r0x0r! We can watch those dumb paladins who struggle and suffer and stay 52 or lower forever in order to get their Books of Scale from Naggy and Vox, and then laugh at them when a sword just as good as their best epic starts dropping from monsters!
Ranjers Rkewl: You should make them tradeable too to make the humiliation even worse!
A player with no realization of what makes a weapon "epic" made to a comment to reflect that very fact.
If you look at the stats provided by the epic weapon and still think that this weapon can even hold a candle to it... well my friend... I just don't think there's any help for you.
Hell YES! That's all I have to say. Alveron, you are so right I can't even emphasize it. Epic Weaps have increases to almost every stat, or at least every stat important to that class (excluding Magicians, whose Epic is a Pet spell). This Weap is very Good, but lacks the stats of an Epic Weapon.
Everyone must relize what "epic" is. It's not a weapon . It's the trials and toils of your character, who through hell and high water aquire a gift from all the journeys and battles they had to fight. It's not to hold the weapon and say look at this.....Well it is, but it is to say I did all this and you didn't and look what i got. The when they say well my weap is better than yours, you reply, yes it may be in dam and dly but I WAS ABLE TO DO THIS HIGH *** LVL QUEST and you can't( given it's someone of lower level than you, if there same lvl or higher they can maybe do same or better : ) So remember you may have this weapon but when you encounter someone with an epic weapon respect them for they will possibly own your ***...
Camal Casbah 22nd season of darkness The Tribunal member of Dragonsrevolt
*******You can see my guild to lvl an SK on eq.casterrealm.com : )
you need to look over the magician epic again. it summons a weapon with all sorts of stats, that summons a pet that makes the regular pets look like lvl 20 necro pets. in other words magicians probably got the best end result of all the epics.
Don't forget Cam.. the part of having no life, being in an uber guild to help you accomplish the epic quest; or ... being ugly as hell, with no friends or other half so you live your RL in Norrath; or ... being someone who neglects their spouse & kids to play eq 40 hrs a week (on top of a 40 hr a week RL job); or ... being a handsome billionaire with no other purpose in life. haha
I think you just insulted over half of the people that play Everquest. I think either a) you're pretty damn jealous or b)this is what your life is like and in an attempt to make yourself feel better, you try to normalize it :P
Why have a weapon that is good as the epic weopon drop from mobs. The epic weapons of a class should be all powerful for that class and that would make the person want to take the quest. It should be as easy as finding the mob and killing it that would make the game boring and everyone would be running around with a great weapon.

I think the real point is that while the ratio is a little better than the epic weapon, the epic's stats more than make up for it. I can't imagine anyone choosing to use this over the epic.

LOL. ***** verant and their epics. oh another one, the duckbill staff? i play a necro (my friends necro actually, heh) and wouldnt be caught DEAD with that ugly damn stick. forget that! ill take a 32/35 weapon any day, its easier to get then any epic, and i could buy this. i want to play the game for fun, not to waste months and months play time to get some funny looking weapon. these new velium weapons are awesome, its about time Verant made some nice weapons. i feel bad for those of you who bother with huge quests like that...i like EQ but im not going to spend every waking minute trying to get some damn weapon that means NOTHING in real life...except to sell with the character on Ebay! :)

Copeland's analyzer, for those of you who used it to calculate the damage/minute output of each, is not entirely accurate. It's better than most, but it isn't perfect and it returns lower values for both 1handed and 2handed weapons.
The weapon bonus is applied only to the main hand. Thus, low delay in mainhand is a must, while the ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IN THE OFFHAND IS RATIO. In another way: the offhand acts independantly of the main, and strikes only when the roll for dual wield is successful. Because there is no damage bonus, the only thing that really matters is how much damage the offhand can do based on the weapon. Thus, a jade mace (ratio of .5) is still better than a GJBS (ratio of something like .43). A Crafted Velium Warsword (10/18) is better than either.
Finally, two jade maces will be outdamages--quite significantly--by this weapon. I picked it upabout a week ago, and ran some tests with my other weapon sets. I currently wield a Defiance (10/18 10ac) and a Dragon Claw Main Gauche (10/19 15ac) or the TVC. The D/DCMG outdamages the claidhmore, but not by a lot.
Consider: if double attack fires on a swing that does 100 damage, you get an extra 100 damage that round. If double attack fires on a swing that does, say, 35 damage (from a blood point or mace post-50) you get an extra 35 or so damage. You don't get dual wield with a 2hander, true--then again, this 2hander does more damage than the combined damage from any two dual-wieldable weapons out there in one round.
This weapon IS better than any non-velious, non VP dual wielders out there; it is not better than the best velious 1handers.
It seams like ur forgetting something. Lets say there are these 2 warriors, Bob and Joe. Bob is wielding this huge mosterous Tempered Velium Claidhmore. Joe is wielding 2 Blood Points. Both have maxed out haste (10/11 for Joe, 32/33 for Bob). Joe hits 3 or 4 times every 1.1 seconds for 35 damage a hit on average. Bob hits twice every 3.3 seconds (most of the time) for 100 damage a hit on average. This means Joe can hit 12 times for 40 damage max (my 38 warrior hits for 40 with his Blood Point occasionally, non-crit/crip). Bob can hit for 2 120's or so in that time. Joe's damage in 3.3 seconds = 480. Bob's damage in 3.3 seconds = 240. And of course, with BP's, u have that great 80 point proc that goes off like crazy, and the crits/crips that Bob got would be great, to make up for the 80 damage proc. Is it just me, or is Joe outdamaging Bob? Not to mention Joe is out-taunting Bob.
people dont listen to my rants when I tell them that they are morons for going quad for DPM using .5 weapons. I can only hope they will listen to a warior for once. (yes I know low dly taunts, but who wants to taunt if your aernt supposed to tank /bonk =p)
but oh wait, 3/4 of all wariors are morons. And the rest of the world is still meleeing like its pre-kunark and the haste cap is 65% and there isnt a 2h dly bonus.
oh well, I guess I'll continue to live in a world where people think non-main tanks require the exact same gear as main-tanks. When the entire point of the main-tanks gear is to outtaunt the non-main tanks. And of corse very few people actually run tests to check thier DPM, they go off the fact they where told or 'feel' that they deal more damage with quad (I hate to break it to you, if you deal 4x the damage 1/3 as often, your dealing more dmg over time).
Anyway its a pointless cause. People will continute to use .5 1h weapons when they have no intention of tanking the mob thinking they are dealing dmg but in reality are actually killing thier DPM. It just bugs me because it seems to me if I was a melee I'd be running my parser constnatly.
Dual weild is a pathetic attempt at a pathetic idea. 2h weapons are always, and have always been better. An Executioner's axe (500-600p) can easily outdamage the average Joe dual weilding SSOYs (8/24 each, assuming that it's before level 37 when they start procing), and this is outdamaging them by FAR. With the strength bonus accounted for, still, this remains true.
Hate to blow your whistle, but 2h is better, and will always remain so. The strength bonus applies to 2h weapons as well, and with the 'low' on this (for a 2h weapon), this would easily outdamage Jade maces, even if the user was completely blind.
You wanna talk about Dual weild vs. 2h? Send a tell then, I'm always happy to converse.

Melee classes are finally able to KS casters, Lguk is empty, Sol b is full of Plevelers and farmers, over crowding is down to the point clerics have trouble finding groups, and people charge 100pp for old world items that used to be worth 5k.
whatever happened to the struggleing newbies trying to KS each other with rusty weapons at an orc camp. sigh...I miss my youth, back then if you got a higher level to sharpen yer rusty daggers to tarnished before level 12 you had UBER weapons compaired to the rest of folks yer level. And dammit we used to find raw hide and wear it, not only did we wear it, we LIKED it.

Aye, i have to agree with ya to some extant, i thought kunark was enough. and i love the dungeon life, wich velious seems to be lacking a bit. but the armor is just TOO good and makes the old stuff you camped at hours at a time feel like crap. but velious is pretty fun, i just think its geting to be too much and un even...
I heard a terrible rumor the other day. I heard that the incredible ratio velious weapons go poof if you bring them outside of velious. Now I cannot comfirm this, nor can I deny it. But if this is true, I for one will be very disapointed in verant for doing this. I brough back the fs style velious weapons and Ihave not had a problem with them melting on me. But if one of these does, rest assured Verant is going to get an earful from me. Now I see on some weapons things are velious required. Maybe this is their way of saying well if you dont have velious you cant have this. Which I totally agree with. But I sure hope to god our weapons wont poof when we bring them back to the mainland or something...And I for one hope this rumor is false. Can anyone verify to put our minds at ease?
i have heard a similar rumor. rest assured it will not poof. i have saveral items from velius (not this sword) but none have poof and i dont even have the velious expansion. what i heard happens is that the effect of those swords that have them will not proc as much out side of velious. i cant sya for sure i have a vilium (sp?) long sword and it procs about every 5 rounds i guess it could proc more but i wont know until i go there. as fare as poofing goes i think you would have a lot of mad customers if they did something like that.
Yes there are some items that are velious bound and will poof once you zone into a non velious zone. What items they are was up to verrant and im sure we will find out eventually. I am sure the quest items and majority of drops will be ok but there will be some that poof or they wouldn't have anounced it.
Does it count as taking them off Velious if you pop them in the bank when on Velious and then you get ported to mainland? Even if you didn't take the items out of the bank once on mainland?
As far as I know, it was said in some previews before the SoV release, that all velium weapons would disapear, when removed from velious. But i dont think this idea made it into the final release. At last I'm dualwielding two velium longswords and don't even own the expansion. Also I've never heared of anyone having experienced this problem. So IMO its just a rumor.
I myself know that there are no weapons, pieces of armor, or items that poof when you leave velious. It was just a rumor that people made up to scare people, and apparently it worked. You can take anything from velious to Antonica, Faydwer, Odus, or Kunark with out it dissapearing.
Sinerinx AnimalAvenger 43rd Druid of The Tribunal Organized Chaos
yeah yeah but so this is easier to get then some of the epics. WOW! but this game isnt called everitem or everpower its called everquest! i think people have lost what this game is all about you can tell the real poleplayers from the posers by inspecting them. it posers will have all tradeable uber powerful items. while the roleplayers will give into the "no drop your class only" items. i think its realy sad all people care about is how much plat they have and how much better their eq is then the other warrior. i would rather take someone into my group with their epic or quested items then this because you know that the other guy really likes to work for his eq then just sitting in ec all day waiting for someone to sell the item they want, i think they are more hardcore players and are more fun to group with all around because they know teamwork. i know this isnt all people buts its too many of you.
Why are you disrespecting people who trade items and insist that people that trade items and buy items aren't true roleplayers? Since when did questing for weapons make any difference in how you roleplay? I have seen people who wheel and deal to get their items. They are not "posers". More often than not, it takes very clever role playing to wheel and deal the items from other players who have the good stuff. The second point that I will make is that you contradict yourself in your first sentence saying that it's not everitem. Well, you say its not, but then you go on to mention that only true roleplayers will do the quests for the items. Wait, didn't you say its not everitem? You have me confused.....To make this brief, my opinion is that you can't judge a persons roleplaying ability on their equipment, no matter what they have. I know several people that don't care to level or get equipment or anything. They just like interacting with people while fishing. Those characters are no "less" roleplayers than you with your Giant Diablo Sword of death and dismemberment.....
I find nothing wrong with buying or selling either, except....when I am in a group and a 6k item drops that is class specific, and I would actually USE the item on my person not on twink and group decides to random for it, I lose, offer the winner 9k in cash and or items thier choice and they refuse saying they need it for a freakin twink. people suck.
Elarian Tinesthai <Knights of Armageddon> Innoruuk
I agree completely with you. That is just weak. I can imagine being in a group killing some monster that drops a warrior only item to have the damn wizard or whomever roll on it for his twink. On the other hand, if I was the only warrior in that same group and already had what the monster dropped (and it was lore) then I say let whomever wants to roll on it go for it. Ive already got one, its lore, who cares? I also agree on the sentiment that "people suck" but not people in general, its the l3wt hungry hyenas that suck. Grrr.
i have.in fact i do it all the time-but i dont see what that has to do with this weapon.and by the way just cos i play doesnt make me *****. have a nice day <bow>
Sorry to dissapoint you all but dual wielding maces is better. Also to that ranger that said his Rod of Lam outdamaged his dual wield combo so much. Get some better dual wield weapons !
Jade maces aren't even that great dly 19 dmg 9 if memory serves me. have a ykesha war club and a ringed mace of teh ykesha. both dly of 22 one is dmg 10 other dmg 9 with the 75dd so jade maces aren't so hot now. But if you like them, use em. Its your character, use what you like. I know below level 37 jade maces would be tough to beat. (no procs) after 37 hang em on teh shelf, or give to a twink. But I say again, if you like em use em.
See, the original poster of this "Jade Maces own it" is probably level 25. They think they're cool, because they just got thier first Ykesha. They also think that they're king **** and that they know everything. Wrong.
First off, dual jade maces is not all that great of a combo. Yes, a jade mace in primary is great, but you need a secondary like GJBS or Lamentation to really take advantage of the combination.
Please, before you post, make sure you have a clue about what you're talking about.
Speaking of having a clue, before you put someone down again, consider yourself an idiot for picking a Erud SK. I guess you went for the looks and rarity, huh? *sigh* Besides how would you know about dual wielding weapons SK?
I'm an enchanter and I dont use any weapons and I know hes right. Jade mace is horrible in the offhand.
I know one of the best SK's on my server is a eru
I know anyone who bashes someone and tells them they are a moron because they chose a race they wanted to be -- knowing full well they would have a harder time being good at the class-- isnt the brightest child on the block
I know people who think that the only way to go is min max, and if you dont your a freak, tend to be the worst players in eq.
Jade Maces are nice, and so is this weapon, it's a very very nice 2HS. But my favorite, and what I use, on both rogue and warrior is two blood points (yes, I have four of them). Jade maces have slightly superior ratio, but with a dex buff and/or boon of garou, it is tough to beat dual blood points. On one tough mob I have proc'd 25 times using dual blood points. That's 2000 extra damage to the mob and 2000 healing for me. Not quite two ice comets, but close, and the lifetaps are VERY rarely resisted. I'm not sure (and not gonna try it), but I suspect that with a dex buff and boon on, I could solo the ghoul lord, even as a rogue, using two blood points.
However, I like 2HS sometimes too. Not as often, but it's nice to whup *** with the big numbers once in a while, even if the overall damage output isn't quite as high, and I'd love to have one of these for those times.
Dual Jade Maces? Are you some sort of idiot? (No offense) But, if you're going to dual wield use a weapon with HIGH damage in your secondary hand and a weapon with LOW delay in your primary hand, such as a Jade Mace. I prefer the Lamentation and GJBS combo.
i dual wield jade maces. if you knew anything about dual wielding you would know that the secondary is completely seperate from the primary. the dual wield roll is depended on the delay of a weapon. if you use a fast offhander you're going to connect more with that. at high levels dual wield always works. so a low delay weapon is better. besides. i do into the 40's and 50's with jade maces. thats pretty good. id rather hit 3 times for 40 than once for 80 or 90 within the same time frame. not to mention the taunt is better.
To anyone that thinks that duel wielded maces is the best, you need to do more research on the entire list of weapons. If you could get your hands on two Crafted Velium Warswords, that would be a great duel wield.
